THE GOD EATER

Money Body’s voice was serious as he said, ”Show me everything that happened. I want to hear everything that everyone said and see the reaction of everyone.”

Forced Exchange bowed his head before obliging. He projected his thoughts into an avatar. The avatar changed its color and appearance to depict exactly what had happened.

The avatar also voiced every sound and word that everyone else made. So, in essence, Forced Exchange was using the avatar to display his thoughts.

After reviewing what had happened, Money Body said, ”This is a fight between alliances. For some reason, we are being pushed to the limit.”

”I don’t know how this alliance has managed to grow under my nose all along. It is just unbelievable. If I didn’t see this myself, I wouldn’t believe it.”

Then he chuckled and said, ”Anyway, I think this is a bluff. I doubt that they can force us to use up all of our savings if they are consuming more than we are to maintain this new Gold Body.”

”But just to be safe, I can only allow you to use up to half of our savings. Anymore, and you would be endangering us.”

No matter what Forced Exchange thought about this judgment, he could only bow his head and say, ”Thank you for your grace.”

Then he asked, saying, ”What about the inquiry he is making? If I die, I won’t be able to block him anymore.”

He asked that question to remind Money Body that his life was important. He was hoping that Money Body would increase the allotted lifespan for this important matter, but he didn’t get the response that he wanted.

Money Body said, ”I have already considered that matter. I originally wanted to limit you to one-third of our savings. But then I remembered that your existence is very useful to us. That’s why I decided to allow you to use up to half of our savings.”

Forced Exchange’s heart tightened when he heard this. This was because another minute had gone by, and he had lost another 7,080 years of lifespan.

This meant that he had used 20.2% of their savings. So he had three minutes left to live.

While he was hoping that this ordeal would end, he heard Money Body say to two other divine beings, ”You two should keep your distance from now until this matter with Forced Exchange is over. I don’t want you to get caught up in whatever is going on here.”

Forced Exchange’s heart tightened even further when he heard this. He became anxious even though the words weren’t directed at him.

Money Body was speaking to the two helpers whom he had called for reinforcement. He had been hoping that the two of them would come and gang up on Gold Body, thereby increasing the rate of loss of lifespan for Gold Body.

Now that Money Body was telling them not to help, it meant that he was alone with Gold Body from now on. As a smart person, he realized that Money Body was slowly cutting him off so as to limit the loss to the alliance.

While he was wondering what to say to use to convince Money Body, Money Body himself said, ”Don’t worry too much. According to what you said, this new Gold Body is barely a tenth as powerful as you are. This means that their alliance is not even half as strong as ours. So it is safe to say that they have a maximum of half our savings.”

”Since they are also younger than our alliance, I estimate that their savings are only up to 30% of ours. This is why I initially wanted to limit you to 33% of our savings.”

”So you should have nothing to worry about now that I’ve raised your limit to 50% of our savings. But if it turns out that my estimates were wrong and you still die after this, then it would be all the more reason to limit you to 50% and not let you bring down the alliance with you.”

The other member of the alliance also said encouraging words to Forced Exchange. But nothing they said put an end to the constant loss of lifespan, so nothing they could say could put an end to Forced Exchange’s anxiety.

Not only was Forced Exchange feeling anxious, but he was also regretting that he spent 550 divine merit points. In fact, he was also regretting that he was in the Blessed Heaven World when the old Gold Body died and was replaced by this troublesome one. This is because he will die forever if he dies like this.

Those who surrender their Cave Heaven have surrendered their right to live to the host. But they have also given up on being able to use their Cave Heaven to survive the cycle of reincarnation.

If he dies right now, his Cave Heaven will remain with the alliance and in complete control of the Thorn House of Commerce. As for him, he will have to start from the beginning as a mortal slave to some cultivator.

Just the thought of what awaited him if he died made him wish he had let Gold Body go after Crystal City was destroyed. However, while Forced Exchange was feeling anxious and regretful, he wasn’t the only one who thought they were in danger of losing the most by this ordeal.

Money Body thought that he was the one losing the most because he owned the entire alliance, so Forced Exchange’s loss and death all count towards his loss.

If Forced Exchange were to die, he would have lost 425,000 years of lifespan for nothing. Since the conversion efficiency of his Life Fire is 16.5%, the 425,000 years’ worth of resources can be sacrificed to gain 70,125 years of lifespan for him.

To Force Exchange, the 425,000 years’ worth of resources is only worth 35,062 years of lifespan. But it is worth more to him.
