THE GOD EATER

His lifespan had been 1,478,852 years after devouring the Crystal City, but he had spent 272 years ago on Divine Metacs to come here and an extra 3,121 to defend against the spying attempt of the seer and the curse of the death cultivator.

So what was left when he arrived was 1,475,459 years of lifespan. Then he consumed the millions of living creatures in the world.

The average amount of lifespan he acquired from devouring the living creatures was one month. In total, he got 8,356,712 years of lifespan.

He also acquired 53,636 units of law fragments from devouring the world. This is why his lifespan and amount of law fragments have increased to 9,832,171 years and 7,189,985 units of law fragments.

All in all, he had received a lot for devouring the small world. But when he thought about how he would have gained 9 million square kilometers and the 53,636 units of law fragments if he had assimilated the small world instead of devouring it, he felt dissatisfied.

He shook his head and said, “Devouring has done nothing much to improve my strength. It has only given me more lifespan. Without advancing to rank 7, I won’t be able to use the lifespan to increase my power.”

“On the other hand, assimilating the small world would have increased the size of my Cave Heaven. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to assimilate it.”

He wasn’t actually blaming the Devouring Ability. It is just that the Devouring Ability is useful for certain things, not everything. This is the conclusion that he came to as he left the small world.

Of course, by the time he left, there was no more small world. There was only a void where the world should have been. This is what Monarch Eye Tracker found after following the trail to this point.

Monarch Eye Tracker wasn’t alone. He had come with eight other cultivators. So there were nine cultivators in total, and they were all divine beings.

Four of these nine divine beings were from the Martial Body Sect. As warriors who value their reputation, the reputation of fighting and killing a dragon is the most valuable reputation. This is why nearly half of them are warriors.

The other four are people from the Money Pathway, the Death Pathway, the Mind Hunter Pathway, and the Enslavement Pathway. The money cultivator is from the Thorn House of Commerce.

To be exact, the money cultivator is Forced Exchange. He is here to see the person who destroyed their city and seek recompense for the damages the alliance has suffered.

The death cultivator is the same one who had cursed Loki earlier. The enslavement cultivator came to try to enslave a dragon. The mind hunter only came to see a dragon.

After they reached the spot where the world used to be, the seer stopped and began looking around. This made the people following restless.

One of the warriors asked with high expectations, “Are we close?”

Monarch Eye Tracker nodded and said, “Yes.”

But the warrior wasn’t satisfied with the answer. He snorted and said, “You said we were close five minutes ago. Since then, we’ve only gotten closer. I don’t want that. I want you to tell me exactly how close we are.”

Monarch Eye Tracker nodded and said, “In that case, we are very close.”

The disgruntled warrior sighed with exasperation and gave up on trying to get answers. But not everyone was willing to give up just yet.

The mind hunter asked with interest, “Why are we stopping here anyway? The dragon is clearly not here. Or is the dragon hiding right here with some means?”

Monarch Eye Tracker replied, saying, “There used to be a world here.”

As he spoke, he circled around the location where the world used to be to examine this location from every angle. The others couldn’t see anything, but it seemed there was something interesting going on in the void that was invisible to their eyes.

They didn’t like this feeling of being left out. They especially didn’t like his answers that didn’t answer the question or provide useful information.

So the mind hunter rolled his eyes and said, “So what if there was a world here? What does that have to do with the dragon?”

Monarch Eye Tracker thought that the question was reasonable, so he said, “There used to be a world here about five minutes ago.”

At this point, everyone was getting angry with the seer. Even the mild-mannered death cultivator couldn’t take his incomplete answers anymore.

The death cultivator growled at him, saying, “You fucker. Are you trying to get killed? What’s wrong with you? We are in this together, so why are you hiding information from us?”

One of the warriors came to Monarch Eye Tracker’s rescue by sighing and saying, “He is not trying to hide information. He just doesn’t like talking when he is tracking something. It is a quirk of his.”

But the death cultivator wasn’t having any of it. He raised his voice and said, “You were the ones who said I should keep spending my lifespan to wear the dragon down. If I am doing that, the least you could do is tell me why we have stopped in some random spot in space when the dragon is on the run.”

The warrior who had just spoken knew that the death cultivator had a point. In fact, she thought that everyone had a right to useful information.

So she said to Monarch Eye Tracker, “Why is this world important?”

Monarch Eye Tracker replied absentmindedly, “The dragon destroyed the world.”

The death cultivator snorted and said, “So a small world was destroyed. How is that important to the pursuit of the dragon?”

Monarch Eye Tracker cocked his head to the side as he said, “The destroyed world disrupted the trail.”

This reply made the mind hunter chuckle and say, “You could have saved us all of this time by saying that you’re trying to find his trail again.”
