THE GOD EATER

Since the other two had spoken, the man sitting on the anvil also said, “I can give you a gift. But in exchange, you will have to join my alliance.”

Then he pointed at the other two with his chin and said, “You should know what the other two are here for. They are here to kill you. I am your only chance for salvation here. So you will be smart to come with me.”

Monarch Craftsman’s Hammer sensed that these two were trying to get the new Divine Metac by talking and offering something in exchange for it. He didn’t like this at all because his chances of getting the new Divine Metac through an auction are lower than his chances of getting it through a fight.

So he frowned and said, “Are we going to fight or not?”

He wasn’t really interested in the question because he was already approaching Loki with his hammer as he spoke. So it seemed the choice wasn’t up to them about whether they would fight or not.

His actions made Loki back away from him. But Loki still made one last-ditch effort to solve the problem by saying, “Why are you so eager to fight? Even if you kill me, you won’t get the Divine Metac. You will have to jump through a lot more hoops before you can get it. So won’t it be better to get the Divine Metac from me now?”

In response, Monarch Craftsman’s Hammer laughed and said, “You make good points. But I have never seen a divine being who would go down without a fight, so I am sure that what you’re saying is a stalling tactic.”

“You can become reasonable later on and be willing to hand over the Divine Metac. But first, I must beat you and show you that you have no other way out.”

“Even if you remain stubborn until death, that will only prove that you were never sincere about giving up your Divine Metac. In that case, it would be an efficient use of my time to kill you as soon as possible and find a way to get your Divine Metac from the sect.”

As he spoke, he got closer and closer to Loki. This forced Loki to back away more from him.

But Loki was surrounded, so his attempt to get away from Monarch Craftsman’s Hammer could only push him closer to one of the other two. The one he was getting closer to was the woman with the crown of metallic thorns.

The woman took this as a good sign. She summoned a cloud of sharp fragments of metal around her. The sharp fragments looked like they were made from broken swords, and some even had sharp tips like the tips of swords or knives.

She split the cloud into three. One portion surged like a swarm of locusts towards Craftsman’s Hammer, while the second portion surged towards Loki. The last portion remained around her to defend her.

The man sitting on the anvil chose to target Monarch Craftsman’s Hammer and the lady. But for now, Monarch Craftsman’s Hammer was the man’s highest priority since Craftsman’s Hammer was the most dangerous. He raised his hammer into the air and smashed it down towards Monarch Craftsman’s Hammer.

Clearly, the situation had taken the worst and fighting was inevitable. The three had also blocked access to the other dimensions with their Cave Heaven, so unless his Cave Heaven was more powerful than theirs, he would have to fight them here in the first dimension.

All of these things went through Loki’s mind as he took out his hammer. Then he took one more look at the lady with his Power Identification Ability.

She only had one Divine Metac and the smallest Cave Heaven among the three of them, so she was the weakest of the three. This was why he moved closer to her.

With his mind made up about his plan, he activated the Power Shifting Ability and used it to let the other Metacs enhance the power of the Soul Hammer. Then he threw the hammer at the lady.

The white hammer flew through the cloud of shrapnel unimpeded. This wasn’t because the white hammer was stronger. The white hammer was simply a phantom and couldn’t be stopped by physical objects.

The fact that the white hammer could bypass the cloud of sharp metal fragments meant that she didn’t have any defense against the hammer. This was a truth that she recognized, but she wasn’t worried.

She wasn’t worried because she was willing to spend the lifespan needed to heal whatever amount of damage that Loki’s pitiful strength could cause to her.

There was also the fact that her cloud of shrapnel was about to reach Loki. Since Loki’s Soul Hammer is for spiritual attacks, he won’t have any defense against her. So he, too, would have to bear the full brunt of her attack.

With the two of them attacking each other like this, the clash between them will become a struggle of who has the highest amount of lifespan. Whoever has the most amount of lifespan and deals the most damage to the opponent will win.

As a rank 7 divine being, she is confident in her victory, so she remained confident even when the white phantom hammer began splitting in the air on its way to her.

The single white hammer became two. These two hammers became four. Then the four hammers became eight.

Each time the hammer split, the threat of the hammers increased. But she still didn’t worry because eight hammers couldn’t compare to a cloud made up of tens of thousands of sharp blades.

She is still confident in outlasting her enemy in this exchange of damage. So her face remained calm like the surface of a lake.
