THE GOD EATER

Of course, he could still escape from the invisible wall by activating his Metacs to increase his strength greatly and breaking through the wall in his way by force. But it will cost him his lifespan to do so.

On the other hand, it won’t cost the world anything important to trap him. After all, the wall was created with the power of the world, not the power of a Metac.

So rather than spend his lifespan breaking through walls, he decided to spend his lifespan beating the dragons. That way, every amount of lifespan that he burns beating the dragons will cost the world a lot more lifespan to heal.

It is a case of being active or reactive. He had been forced by the world to fight the dragons. But now that he has exposed his strength and gained some initiative, he is unwilling to back off so easily.

The will of the world became desperate when he refused to let the two dragons go. It began creating a force field around him to bind and suppress him.

The power of the forcefield was the same as the power of the wall. So the power of the forcefield was 8(Rank) × 1,406 million(Cave Heaven) × 10(Law Fragments), which is 112,480 units of divine power.

This kind of power couldn’t suppress him. A single shrug from him would shatter the force field.

The only thing the force field could do was be a nuisance to him. But the will of the world refused to give up. It kept creating more force fields and more walls in his way to block him.

It seemed that the will of Oceania was hell-bent on making him give up by giving him the option to give up on the fight and leave, or fight both the dragon and the world at the same time. He chose to stay and keep fighting.

He was not willing to leave without weakening the dragon king. And if the world was hell-bent on stopping him from achieving his goal, then it has to be ready to pay a high price for it.

After making up his mind, he laughed and jeered at the dragons, saying, “I won’t be satisfied until you die or the world dies with you. So instead of begging me to leave, you should beg the will of the world to let you go.”

The frilled dragon shouted at him and said to him with disdain, “You will die a sorry death. Our king will kill you by skinning you all over and over again.”

The cobra dragon also laughed and said, “Just wait to die. Your death will come soon.”

Their words gave him pause. Now that the dragon king had been mentioned, he had to consider whether it was worth it to continue trying to kill these people if the dragon king became angry with him and decided to kill him.

But then he said, “I can’t be the most dangerous enemy, right? There is still Nether Flame and Money Body, so if the dragon king comes to deal with me, then it has already lost because Money Body will become free to kill the other dragons.”

“Besides, I’m not Ant Hill. I can’t just pack up and leave because I hear the dragon king’s name. What if they are bluffing? What kind of fool will I be if I let them escape because of a bluff?”

So he refused to give up. But he also decided not to leave the matter up to fate and decided to muddy the waters a little bit.

In order to make himself look unpalatable, he sneered at the two dragons and said, “What do you take me for? Do you think I am a fool? Why will the dragon king target me? I’m not the greatest threat here.”

He also laughed and said in mockery, “If the dragon king comes to target little old me, then it has already lost the battle for this world. In fact, I will be willing to sacrifice my life so that I can occupy the dragon king here. If the dragon king thinks I’m worth killing at the loss of the other dragons, then it can come after me.”

Of course, he wasn’t willing to sacrifice his life for the success of the outpost mission. But he said it as a grand bluff. That way, if they are bluffing, he won’t fall for it, and if they are not bluffing, the dragon king will really have to second-guess its plan to target Loki.

Just as he said this, he heard Money Body send a message to him saying, “It appears that I have underestimated you. It also seems that you’ve already joined an alliance. Well done, rookie. If not for you, I wouldn’t have known that there was another alliance of money cultivators quietly growing beneath my nose.”

“But I am curious about your motive. Why come on this mission with me? Are you here to see what I am capable of and test my bottom line for your alliance?”

Before Loki could reply, he said, “Don’t lie to me that you haven’t joined an alliance. I am not a fool, and neither am I blind.”

“Someone with one Divine Position can’t produce the kind of power you possess. The only explanation is that you have a Cave Heaven that is orders of magnitude bigger than what your rank should be capable of having.”

“No wonder you never revealed the power of your Cave Heaven. You must have been worried that you would reveal yourself prematurely.”

“And don’t lie to me that you didn’t know you would be on this mission with me. You nearly fooled me with that shocked expression you put on your face when you first saw me.”

“You must be here for something important. It is no wonder that someone like you, who hasn’t been a divine being for ten years, decided to come on such a dangerous mission.”
