THE GOD EATER

After he was gone, the attendant took out a book and began writing in it. She was a lady, and the hand that she used to hold the pen was fair and delicate.

She wrote in line, saying, “The special guest is gone.”

In response, something invisible wrote in the next line, saying, “What was his reaction when you told him about the condition to break the rules?”

She wrote, “When I told him that we would answer any question if he told you how to advance to rank 6, he didn’t seem frightened, overwhelmed, or balk at the idea of helping someone advance to rank 6. He also seemed to accept the request as being reasonable.”

The person on the other side said, “So he thought that it was reasonable, but didn’t explore the idea. Since he didn’t call the request absurd, it means that he doesn’t think advancing to rank 6 is absurd. That means that he has confidence in advancing to rank 5 himself.”

“At least, he believes that he has a chance of becoming a divine being. But since he didn’t try to take advantage of our offer, he either doesn’t have a way to help anyone advance to rank 6, or he doesn’t think he can help me in particular, or he doesn’t want to help anyone advance to rank 6.”

Then they asked, “Did he even ask for what pathway I belong to?”

The attendant replied, saying, “No, he didn’t.”

The reply came, saying, “This crosses out the possibility that he doesn’t think he can help me. This is unless he already knows my information and knows what pathway and Life Ability I possess.”

“But I am willing to bet on the other two. He either can’t help anyone or he doesn’t want to help anyone. But which is it?”

The attendant didn’t know, so she wrote, “I can’t be sure.”

This made the other person say, “But what can you be sure of. What else did you notice about him that is of note?”

“Aside from the fact that he is using a disguise and that he is worth more than 100 million energy stones, I can’t tell anything else.”

The other person was silent for a while. Then they said, “In that case, we will have to keep an eye on him. If he comes back, continue to treat him as a special guest.”

The attendant wrote, “Of course. Every person worth more than 100 million energy stones is a special guest.”

In response, the invisible pen wrote, “I can count on you to do that. Goodbye.”

Since the conversation had ended, the attendant closed the book. As she did so, the third eye on her forehead blinked.

Through this third eye, she can see through walls and see everyone in their booths. So she can see every customer and all of the attendants in the shop.

The customers will surely be shocked to know that the booths don’t offer any privacy to them, but the other attendants won’t be surprised by this. This is because every attendant, male or female, has a third eye on their forehead and can see through walls and obstacles.

Not only can they see through walls, but they can also see some information about the people they are looking at. They can tell the strength and value of the person they are looking at with their eyes. This was also the case with Loki.

When the attendant had looked at Loki earlier, all that she saw about him was ???. His appearance was also fuzzy to her.

The first ??? made her understand that Loki was stronger than her, which was normal. But the fact that she couldn’t tell what he really looked like clued her to the fact that Loki was using something to hide his appearance.

However, she was able to tell that Loki was worth more than 100 million energy stones because she is a Money Cultivator. This is why she decided that Loki is to be treated as a special guest.

On the other side, Loki had just killed a rank 3 Mind Hunter. The fight drew the attention of the city police, so he had to pay a fine.

He paid the fine before carrying the rank 3 Mind Hunter into a hotel. Then he got to work extracting the Core Metac from the corpse of the Mind Hunter.

After extracting the Core Metac, he fused it with the energy chamber containing the Space Freeze Metac. This led to the creation of a Divine Metac named the Mind Freeze Metac.

This Mind Freeze Metac is the opposite of the Space Freeze Metac in that it doesn’t freeze the body. It instead freezes the Mind.

Another difference is that the Mind Freeze Metac has a targeted effect, instead of freezing everything around him. So the effect of the Mind Freeze Metac will be hidden from others, but the Mind Freeze Metac won’t be able to freeze attacks like the Space Freeze Metac can.

While it is debatable which one is better between the Space Freeze Metac and the Mind Freeze Metac, he still prefers the Mind Freeze Metac because there are Branch Metacs for it that he can purchase to enhance its power, unlike the absolute absence of Branch Metacs for Space Freeze Metacs.

After doing this, he asked himself, saying, “Should I fuse the Space Tear Metac with the Sword Heart Metac? That will also give me Branch Metacs to use to enhance its power?”

“Then again, I can use the Space Tear Metac with any tool, and its effect is hidden. So I won’t be limited to using swords, and I will be able to use them more often without worrying about being discovered.”

When he thought of this, he nodded and said, “That does it then. I’ll keep the Space Tear Metac.”

“So the next thing to do is to get the Branch Metacs I need. Then I should go and eat some rank 4 Cultivators.”
