THE GOD EATER

The note said, “The power of the Mental World is the most subdued of the two. Its full power won’t be displayed until the advancement to rank 6. For now, the Mental World is mostly useless in a fight between rank 5 beings. Its main use is to secure reincarnation after death.”

“The Mental World is derived from the Mind Palace. The Mental World builds upon the ability of the Mind Palace to remember everything that has ever happened to them, and is more durable than the Mind Palace in that it won’t scatter after death like the Mind Palace. This makes it the foundation of the reincarnation of rank 5 beings.”

After reading this, Loki said inwardly to himself, “So the rumors are indeed true. The Mind Palace is important for reincarnation.”

Then he asked himself, saying, “But what about rank 6 Dao Heart? Isn’t there a rumor that it can also help with reincarnation? Is that true, too?”

“I should ask about the power of the rank 6 Dao Heart after this.”

After making up his mind, he continued to read the note. It just so happened that what he read next answered his question.

“The Mental World is only the foundation of reincarnation. The type of reincarnation that a rank 5 being will get is highly dependent on their Dao Heart, as the higher their willpower, the more durable their Mental World will be.”

“Even the total number of reincarnations that a rank 5 being can experience is dependent on their Dao Heart. Each reincarnation also damages their Mental World and Dao Heart, so a rank 5 being can’t reincarnate forever.”

“The minimum requirement of the Dao Heart for reincarnation is rank 5. But after a single reincarnation, the Dao Heart and the Mental World will weaken.”

“So if the rank 5 cultivator doesn’t rebuild their Mental World and reforge their Dao Heart to rank 5, they won’t be able to reincarnate anymore. So usually, if a rank 5 being can’t return to their rank 5 cultivation after reincarnation, they won’t be able to reincarnate again.”

“These difficulties are why the limit for the number of reincarnations available for rank 5 beings per lifetime is just one. Only rank 5 beings with rank 6 Dao Heart can break this limit.”

“A Mental World built with a rank 5 Dao Heart will be able to sustain more than one reincarnation without the need to return to rank 5 cultivation. After all, even if the quality of the Dao Heart falls, it can only fall from rank 6 to rank 5, which still meets the minimum requirement.”

“Plus, this kind of durable Mental World with a rank 6 Dao Heart will be able to carry the Life Ability along the cycle of reincarnation and make sure that the reincarnator starts with rank 3 cultivation in their next life.”

This made Loki say, “Not bad at all. This is indeed in-depth. I don’t think they are holding any information out on me. If they are, I can’t tell.”

Then he continued to read the note.

The next part said, “The main power of rank 5 beings is in the full enhancement of their Energy Well to their power output. This is all caused by the natural wonder that they fused with.”

“The natural wonder makes it possible for them to utilize the full potential of their Energy Well by expanding their existence. All they need to do to take advantage of this is to eat more cultivators with the same Life Ability.”

“The more cultivators they eat, the larger their existence will be and the stronger they will become. This will continue to be the case until they reach their limit, which is dictated by the size of their energy well.”

That was the end of the information package. After reaching this point, Loki was enlightened.

His eyes lit up with understanding, and he said to himself, “So that’s it. That’s why rank 5 beings have to eat the weaker cultivators with similar Life Ability. So that’s why Lady Red is so strong. This explains everything.”

Then he began tapping his chin as he thought to himself, “It is good that I now know why rank 5 beings are so strong. Not only does this information give me a glimpse of how powerful I will become at rank 5, but it also gives me an idea of how to narrow the gap between rank 5 beings and me.”

His eyes became unfocused as he became deep in thought. He said to himself, “Currently, my lineup is the Telekinesis Metac, the Space Freeze Metac, the Space Tear Metac, the Reversal Metac, and the Rewind Metac.”

He smiled as he thought to himself, “All of them are Divine Metacs, which is good. But there are some problems now.”

“Two of them belong to the Space Pathway, which has no Branch Metacs to take full advantage of them. I also don’t have anything to help defend my mind and defend against curses. Not to mention that I can’t attack the mind anymore.”

“Granted, I don’t need to worry about my defense now that the Shifting Armor has become a Divine Metac. But it doesn’t change the fact that I won’t be able to make good use of the two Space Pathways without Branch Metacs, and I won’t be able to take full advantage of the power of all five pathways if I can’t fuse them together.”

As he thought of this problem, he scratched his chin and said to himself, “Right now, I can fuse the Space Tear Metac, Reversal Metac, and Shifting Armor. I can’t do anything with the Rewind Metac except to reverse time. That leaves the Space Freeze Metac.”

“If I can find a way to make the Space Freeze Metac work with others whenever I attack, I will be set. My power will soar.”

Then he clapped his hands in excitement and said to himself, “I know just what to use.”
