THE GOD EATER

But all of these updates are causing her to receive a lot of notifications. As she is standing there, she is receiving at least ten messages every second. The messages quickly flash before her eyes before they are replaced by another one.

If not for her Mind Palace and perfect memory, she wouldn’t be able to keep up with all of these changes. That would be dire because a single mistake on her part can lead to cascading effects that would make her side suffer a loss.

Her real job isn’t to fight on the front lines. As a commander, her real job is to coordinate the forces of the Four Directions Sect in this small world and make sure that they don’t suffer a loss. Of course, it is also good for her to be strong in case of emergencies when she needs to take to the field.

However, if she needs to take to the field, then her army would be in big trouble even if she wins the fight. This is because the absence of a commander, even for the briefest moment, is a loss to the army.

Fortunately, she hasn’t had the need to take to the battlefield in this shock campaign, and it is all thanks to Loki. In fact, Loki is doing far better than she ever could on the battlefield.

She can’t pay attention to a single person for too long because many other people and other things need her attention all of the time. But each time she glances at his position and checks his progress, she can’t help but be full of disbelief.

Of course, she took this disbelief seriously. She thought that Loki was deceiving her, so she asked someone else to verify the things that Loki had done.

The person she gave that mission to is updating her now.

The person sent a message, saying with a high-pitched voice full of disbelief, “It has been confirmed. He took down an energy shield with a single hit. He did so in all four cities that he attacked.”

She replied, saying, “Good. Continue to keep track of his position. Update me on any changes.”

That was the end of the communication, but the repercussions of what was just said continued to linger in the minds of both parties.

Amelia’s eyes were shining as if she had found a treasure. She felt more and more that it was a good idea to choose to cooperate with the reincarnation of the rank 5 being.

She said, “Rank 5 beings are too powerful. Even their reincarnation are out of this world.”

“It is truly a good thing that he is on my side. At this rate, the Martial Body Sect will be crippled in one month. They might even fall apart in one week’s time if I play my cards right.”

She had the confidence to say this based on what she could see of the situation of the battlefield.

On the map, she can see ten lines. There are many fortress cities on each of these lines. Some lines could even hold 100 cities.

Four of these lines used to belong to the Four Directions Sect, while six used to belong to the Martial Body Sect. So the Four Directions Sect controlled line 1 to line 4, and the Martial Body Sect controlled like 5 to line 10.

But this used to be the arrangement of their forces an hour ago. Things have changed since then.

As she looked at the map, she spotted post 419 and post 421 opposite. Post 419 is standing on line 4, which used to be the front line of the Four Directions Sect, and post 421 is standing on line 5, which used to be the front line of the Martial Body Sect.

Then she saw City A behind post 421. It is on line 6. Behind it are City B, City C, and City D. These are the four cities that Loki had attacked. They reside on line 7, line 8, and line 9. This means that there is only one line left on the battlefield under the control of the Four Directions Sect that is still intact.

If she takes advantage of this opportunity that Loki has provided, she can shift the front lines all the way from line 4 to line 9. She might even be able to take line 10 since it has been confirmed that the Martial Body Sect has lost more than 50% of its soldiers.

This had been easy to do because most of the warriors of the Martial Body Sect were concentrated around the cities of their front line. So even though only the cities of line 5 and line 6 have been completely taken down by now, and there were still the cities on line 7, like 8, like 9, and line 10, more than half of the warriors of the Martial Body Sect were already gone.

In comparison, she had lost less than 5% of her troops in this shock campaign. So even if the remaining 50% of the Martial Body Sect congregate at a single location, as some reports are indicating, she is still sure that she can wipe them out because she still has 95% of her army.

As she thought of this, she grinned and said, “It will just cost a lot to wipe them out, but it will be possible to do. At that time, I can finally earn enough merit points to leave this small world.”

Her eyes gleamed with anticipation as she spoke. But she had to stop fantasizing and return her attention to the work of coordinating the battlefield. Especially since a message just arrived from Loki.

Loki said, “I’ve taken the fourth city. This is all I owe you.”

She said, “That’s good, but I need you to do one last thing. I need you to hold that last city for me.”

Loki replied, saying, “I promised to take cities, not to hold them. I have done my part.”
