THE GOD EATER

Their voice resounded as they said, “And where is your precious mech now? Could it be that you couldn’t bring it along on this tiny balloon boat? That would be a shame now, wouldn’t it? How else would you fight without your mech?”

Their words caused the disciples of the Martial Body Sect to break out in laughter. Their loud, boisterous laughter could even be heard in the dirigible despite the distance.

Greg finally couldn’t take it anymore. He shouted back at the enemy, saying, “What big guns? All I see is compensation for something about you that is shamefully tiny. You should just have used a prosthetic to extend its length instead of relying on guns and a big ship.”

His words quickly ignited the captain of the airship into anger. They pointed at the dirigible and roared as they said, “I want it captured. Capture it now and bring it back with us. I want to see if he can still talk when I am done with him.”

They have the advantage of firepower and can bring down the dirigible with a single round of cannon fire. But the captain decided not to do that because of what Greg said.

Instead of giving Greg a swift death, the captain decided to capture Greg and drag him back to their territory to torture him for what he said. So he gave the order to capture the dirigible.

Greg saw this and sneered as he said, “Another idiot. This world is full of them, but I don’t know if it is good luck or bad luck that they are mostly around me.”

After insulting both the enemy and his allies, he said to his subordinates, “First lesson, the people of the Martial Body Sect are emotional. They always prioritize their emotions over cold logic.”

“You should have learned this during your initiation program, so you should know that their Dao Heart technique is the opposite of ours. I’m sure that it went over your heads when they told you, but you’re lucky to encounter someone like me who can show you an easy-to-understand, real-life, practical display.”

His words made Loki shake his head and say, “He just can’t help himself.”

Meanwhile, Greg continued his speech, “Now for the second lesson. If you want to survive, you have to make sure that they don’t get their hooks into us. If they tether us, we are doomed.”

As he spoke, they saw the giants throwing hooked javelins or harpoons at the dirigible. This sight and his words spurred them into action. They began using their various means to prevent the harpoons from hooking the dirigible.

Loki, who had been preparing to escape with the Shifting Armor, decided to stop and see what Greg was up to. He too joined in the battle as it was a better idea to prevent their capture than to try to escape and reveal that he could fly in the process.

So he activated the Shifting Armor. When it enveloped his entire body in black glossy armor, he created four rail gun sniper rifles on his shoulders. Then he shot the rail guns and used them to knock down the harpoons.

Nearly everyone was doing something to knock down the harpoons. Enslavement Cultivators released birds and flying insects to do the job, while forgers used weapons or telepathy directly. Death Cultivators used spirits, and Money Cultivators burned money to create powerful attacks.

Only the Mind Hunters couldn’t do anything because the targets weren’t mental objects that they could harm. This meant that Jane and one other person were useless. This uselessness gave Jane the opportunity to observe others, including Loki.

What she saw of Loki’s performance made her eyes light up. But she had to look away from him when their enemies changed their course of action.

The captain of the airship saw that his current move was failing, so he said to his men, “Take flight and bring them to me.”

Some of the tattooed people on the airship nodded in understanding and began rushing towards the edge of the ship. These people were small like ordinary humans, which is a sign that they are on the Transformation Pathway in the Martial Body Sect. But these ones in particular had tattoos of birds on their bodies. These set them apart from the other small tattooed warriors.

As these small tattooed warriors took to the air, their black tattoos began to glow with various colors, and a phantom structure appeared around their bodies.

These phantom structures were exactly in the image of the tattoos on their bodies. So they were quickly enveloped by giant phantom figures of birds.

As intangible as these phantom giant birds looked, they were strong enough to interact with the world. A single beat of their phantom wings was enough to provide uplift to the warriors within the phantom figures.

These warriors went straight for the cylindrical balloon at the top of the dirigible. Their goal was to destroy it and render the dirigible helpless. That way, they will be able to easily capture the dirigible.

After these warriors took off, the captain smiled in satisfaction. Then he cupped his mouth and shouted at Greg, saying, “You better let this happen, Greg. Let me capture you, or I will let loose my cannons and destroy you once and for all.”

In response, Greg shouted back, saying, “I’m sure that’s how you get to have sex. You hold a knife to their throats and say to them, ” Let this happen, or I will kill you.”

Greg was saying that he only rapes people and that no one would want to willingly have sex with him. This made anger rush into the head of the captain.

He turned to his men and shouted an order, saying, “Release the humming birds. I want him captured in five minutes.”

Some of his men thought that he was taking things too far, but no one wanted to deny their captain when he was so angry. So they obliged him.
