THE GOD EATER

From the boost that potential has granted rank 3 cultivators, he can see why Muni was willing to sell all that he had to increase his talent. But from what he has heard, talent and potential will only get more important as cultivators become stronger.

Other cultivators might hate the prospect that potential will become more important, but he has no reason to hate this prospect. When he thought of it, he curled his lips and said with smugness, “Bring it on.”

He has no reason to hate such a prospect because his potential is abnormally high at 357 points. For now, this means that he will gain a boost of 3.57 points to his stats with each attack.

On the other hand, someone as talented as Slav with a potential of 95 points will only gain a boost of 0.95 points. This massive difference between his boost and the boost of talented people is why Loki is hoping that he will be able to make up for the difference between himself and the privileged people with Dao Status.

As for the perk that he gained after he advanced to rank 3, the Shifting Armor Life Ability, it won’t improve his strength as directly as the potential boost to bus power. But it is still going to be very useful to him.

Just like he expected, the Life Ability mutated after fusing with Fenrir. It changed from the initial Armored Shell into the Shifting Armor Ability, which is now Fenrir’s sixth ability.

He has yet to try out the Shifting Armor and experience it directly, but he can already tell what mutation it has undergone. He can feel it deep within his gut as an extra muscle ready to be used.

He can also tell that the main reason the Armored Shell Life Ability was accepted by Fenrir at all was that he had forged it using the Living Metal material.

Fenrir doesn’t care for Branch Metacs, so if he hadn’t used the Living Metal, an organic metal with the potential to grow, to forge the Life Ability and had used some random metal like steel and copper, Fenrir would have rejected the Life Ability, and he would have failed to advance.

As for whether the failure would have led to his death, he isn’t sure about that. What he is sure about is that he is glad that the fusion succeeded and that he didn’t have to experience the outcome of the failure.

Another thing that he is glad about is that the Shifting Armor Ability retained the growth potential of the Living Metal material. Not only did he not lose this property during the fusion, but Fenrir even expanded on it and turned his armor into a living thing capable of change.

He became stronger for it, but Fenrir also improved thanks to the Life Ability. With this improvement, Fenrir can now determine the status of people through the Power Identification Ability.

Fenrir still can’t tell what Metac they possess until they use it, but he is satisfied with this. Just the fact that he can now spend all of his money to improve the power of the Life Ability and take this power back into the past is a great boon to him, so he can’t complain.

However, there are indeed some things that he would like to change. They just aren’t about Fenrir since his Core Metac is better than anyone has the right to ask for. The changes he wants are all about himself.

As he thought of this, he said, “It is time to upgrade my cultivation to the peak of rank 3. That means I need rank 3 Cloudy Dates.”

He counted on his fingers as he said, “After that, I need to acquire rank 4 Metacs. Then I need to start refining my body to raise its power to level 4.”

“I shouldn’t forget raising the strength of the Shifting Armor either. It is rank 3 now, but I can raise it to rank 4 and rank 5 with enough resources.”

As he was thinking of what to do to raise his strength, he remembered something important, “I should also try to restore the fifth energy chamber. Should I target Slav now to get the Danger Sense Metac?”

After thinking about this question for two seconds, he shook his head and said, “As much as I want it, I just can’t get it right now. Not unless I want to revert time now.”

“I should be able to extract the Danger Sense Metac easily from his body since he didn’t use it as his Core Metac. But if I kill him, his father won’t let me go. I still want to raise the strength of Shifting Armor, so I shouldn’t court death yet.”

“For now, let’s go and get the rank 3 Cloudy Metac and the rank 4 Branch Metacs that I need. We will take things forward from there.”

After making his decision, he stopped counting on his hands and instead went to grab his coat. The coat was for hiding his identity so that he wouldn’t be easily identified outside.

After wearing the large coat, he used the rank 3 Hidden Sword Metac in his possession to hide his cultivation. Only then did he go outside.

His goal for going outside is to shop for the things he needs. He still has two million contribution points in his account, so he can afford the things he needs.

He can shop online, but he didn’t do that because not only will it take time for the things he buys to reach him, but they will also be more expensive, and he will be running the risk of being scammed. These are why physical shopping is better.

Normally, shopping makes people feel good. So he should be in a good mood now. But he is in a great mood because the things he is going to buy will increase his strength.
