THE GOD EATER

This level of shock is because reincarnations are very rare, so it is unbelievable to think that a reincarnation will turn out to be a slave and that slave turned out to be theirs.

Of the two of them, only Serge could still articulate properly. So he had no problem saying, “Shouldn’t a reincarnation have enough merit points to purchase reincarnation insurance? Why will a reincarnation spend so much time being a slave, have to escape on their own, and struggle through the initiation program?”

Simon immediately felt relieved that someone had been able to put his disbelief into words. He pointed at Serge and said, “Yes, that’s it. That’s what I wanted to say.”

But Skarg shrugged and said, “I don’t know why a reincarnation would do something like that. All I know is that if he is really a reincarnation, it would explain why he is so rich and why he felt assured about buying rank 4 Metacs that he can’t use now.”

Sergio’s eyes lit up when he heard this. He said in dawning understanding, “He is confident that he will be able to use the rank 4 Metac soon. While other people have no hope for rank 4, he is sure that he will be able to reach it.”

Simon dearly didn’t want Loki to be the reincarnation of some great cultivator, so he scrambled to find something that didn’t make sense and pointed it out, saying, “The minimum requirement to advance to rank 4 is a potential of 50 units. He didn’t have that much talent when he was in the initiation program, so how can he advance to rank 4?”

In response, Serge sneered and said, “If he can hide his cultivation level, then he can hide his talent too. In fact, it is easier to hide talent. As long as one checks his energy well, no one will know what his true talent is.”

“Besides, talent can be increased. With enough money to buy things worth nearly two million energy stones in a day, I’m sure that he can find a way to raise his talent to 50 units.”

At this point, Simon couldn’t find any other explanation. He could only say, “No wonder his mind and Dao Heart were so outstanding.”

Then he looked at his father with an anxious face and asked, saying, “What do we do now, father?”

He wanted to ask if they should apologize and make amends or not. But he thought that it was better not to ask a cowardly question. So he sighed inwardly with relief when he heard what his father had to say.

Skarg smiled and said, “It doesn’t matter if he is a reincarnator or not. What matters is that he is weak now, and we can overpower him.”

Then his face became stern as he said, “We let him go once before, but we won’t make that mistake again. Whether he is a reincarnation or not, what his potential actually is, and why he didn’t secure reincarnation insurance, we will know when we capture and interrogate him.”

With that said, he waved his hands and said, “Let’s go and get him now.”

With that order, the father and his two sons quickly went into action. They gathered men and golems and went after Loki. As for Slav, he was busy trying to raise his stock value and advancing his cultivation.

On the other side, when Death Envoy learned what Loki had been up to, she too suspected that Loki was the reincarnation of a great rank 5 cultivator.

Rank 5 cultivators have fused completely with their energy well and their Core Metacs, so it is very difficult for death to wipe out their memories and their Core Metacs. This is what makes them different from everyone else.

Everyone dies and reincarnates. But when others die and forget everything about their previous lifetimes, rank 5 cultivators usually remember their previous lifetime and will awaken their Core Metac in their next life.

This privilege means that every reincarnation of a great rank 5 cultivator will awaken with a potential of at least 50 units. Their memory from their previous lifetime also makes their Dao Heart and Skill grow far too quickly, which translates to an unreasonable cultivation speed.

If this is the case, it would explain Loki’s fast cultivation speed. But if it is the case, it would also be both good and bad for Death Envoy.

It will be good for her if she can capture Loki and get all of his memories. This will only be bad for her if she tries to capture Loki and fails.

Right now, she hasn’t done anything to offend him yet. So she can wash her hands of the matter and risk no danger. It is only if she tries to capture Loki and fails that she will offend him irreversibly and be in danger.

There is also the option of helping Loki rise again to rank 5 and hoping that he would repay her goodwill by helping her advance, too. Many people would prefer this option as it would bring no danger from Loki.

But Death Envoy didn’t consider this peaceful solution at all. Her eyes widened with pleasant surprise as he said, “No wonder that Skarg had been watching him. The scoundrel must have suspected something.”

Then her voice became anxious as she said, “He must have found out by now. I can’t let him get away with this, so I have to go and grab that Loki immediately.”

As she was saying this, she was already activating her zombies. It was clear that she wasn’t willing to waste any time at all.

She was taking this situation so seriously that she also activated the rank 4 Quadruple Mind, which can split the power of her mind into four parts that can act independently. This allowed her to control four zombie puppets at the same time.

Each zombie puppet is a rank 4 zombie with a body as strong as titanium. So even a rank 4 combat armor can only be as tough as its body.
