The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 236: Chapter 164: Keep Making Things Up!

Quickly, Wan took the personal portrait photograph of Zhong Shuang and sent it via the internal work group to officers gathered at the police station, the special patrol, and traffic checkpoints, such as the ones at the station.

The four walked out of the room, and Li Jian said, ”Mr. Chen, arrange a team here immediately to keep watch in case Zhong Shuang suddenly decides to return.”

Wan curiously asked, ”Brother, we’ve already found his hideout. Would he really dare to come back?”

Li Jian replied, ”Of course, it’s possible!”

”The most dangerous place is the safest place!”

”Moreover, if he plans to escape, he might return to grab some cash for the road.”

Chen He nodded and said, ”Mr. Li, I’ll arrange it right away!”

Li Jian turned to look at Jiang An and Wan.

”Let’s return first and adjust anytime as needed.”

Then, Li Jian and his team drove back to the Criminal Investigation Division of Jiangcheng City Bureau.

However, as soon as the three had returned to the office, Li Jian’s phone rang.

Li Jian glanced at the caller ID—it was the head of the police station in front of Jiangcheng Bus Station, Li Ming.

”Hello.”

”Mr. Li, I’d like to report something to you.”

”Just now, Mr. Wan transmitted that the suspect Zhong Shuang is at the plaza in front of the bus station.”

”Should we proceed with the capture immediately?”

Upon hearing this, Li Jian was greatly shocked.

The process of capturing the suspect happened so quickly.

Without any hesitation, Li Jian immediately said, ”Capture him!”

Then, Li Jian dialed Wan’s number.

”Wan, let’s head over to Jiangcheng Bus Station to pick him up.”

In the Criminal Investigation Office, Wan had just brewed a cup of green tea.

The leaves on the surface hadn’t yet sunk.

Upon hearing it, he was bewildered.

”What? Capture?”

”So fast?”

”Stop dawdling!”

”Go, meet me at the garage, we’re heading out immediately.”

minutes later, Li Jian and Wan sped all the way to Jiangcheng Bus Station.

As they got out of the car, they saw Zhong Shuang already handcuffed by Li Ming and others.

Li Jian walked over and said sternly, ”Mr. Li, thank you, and thanks for your strong cooperation this time.”

Li Ming came over, smiling, ”Mr. Li, don’t mention it!”

”You’re my senior in police academy, and it’s only natural for a junior to assist his senior both professionally and personally.”

The suspect Zhong Shuang had been captured, and Li Jian felt very pleased internally.

He chuckled and said, ”Of course!”

”With strong assistance from my junior, the efficiency of the capture is indeed different.”

Li Jian walked over and looked at the handcuffed man before him.

It was the same young man who had eagerly guided them to find a locksmith earlier.

Li Jian’s mouth twitched, ”You’re quite smart, kid. Staying calm in the face of police.”

”I thought you were a good citizen, but turns out you don’t walk the right path!”

”Your mind is quick, too bad you didn’t use it wisely.”

The man raised his head, ”Officer, what are you talking about?”

”I kindly helped you find a locksmith. Is that a problem too?”

”No problem, so why did you run?”

”I wasn’t running; I was just out to buy something.”

Wan looked around and said, ”I recall you were buying fish stew seasoning, right?”

”Is this where you buy fish stew seasoning?”

Zhong Shuang chuckled and said, ”I suddenly decided I wanted to travel. Is that illegal?”

Seeing his slick talking, Li Jian sternly said, ”Talking nonsense, take him away!”

minutes later, Zhong Shuang was brought into Interrogation Room 1.

Even as he sat in the interrogation chair, he had an indifferent look, showing no sign of nervousness.

Li Jian and Wan sat across from him.

Li Jian lit a cigarette, smoked halfway, and then said sternly, ”Do you still not know why we brought you here?”

”No idea!”

”From the moment at the bus station door when you handcuffed me, I’ve been clueless.”

Li Jian extinguished the cigarette butt in his hand and said gravely, ”No idea, huh? Let me help you remember a bit.”

”What’s your relationship with Li Lan?”

”Boyfriend and girlfriend!”

Zhong Shuang tilted his head slightly, ”What? Is it illegal to date?”

Li Jian said in a grave tone, ”Dating isn’t illegal, but murder is!”

Then, Li Jian asked sternly, ”Where is Li Lan?”

”We broke up a couple of days ago, so I don’t know where she is.”

Wan was furious, ”Broke up? The distance in this breakup is quite far—eternal separation.”

Zhong Shuang asked, ”What do you mean?”

”I don’t understand what you’re saying.”

”Don’t understand! Do you not know Li Lan is already dead?”

Suddenly, the man across widened his eyes.

”What? How could she be dead?”

”Pretending! Keep pretending!”

Li Jian raised his hand and forcefully slapped the table.

”Officer, I’m really not pretending!”

A moment later, Li Jian continued, ”We found a gasoline drum at your house, how do you explain that?”

Zhong Shuang shrugged his shoulders, saying, ”That’s not strange!”

”I plan to buy a second-hand motorcycle, so I bought some gasoline first. Is that a problem?”

”Where were you the night before last and what were you doing?”

Zhong Shuang thought for a while and said, ”After getting off work that day, I went home.”

”If you don’t believe me, you can ask the security guard.”

”Keep making things up, keep making things up.”

Li Jian was already furious.

At this time, Wan was also angrily grinding his teeth.

Previously, having been played by this man, he was even more angry inside.

He didn’t expect that after working in criminal investigation for so many years, he’d be tricked this time by a young man.

After the first tactic failed, Li Jian began to persuade and educate.

”I advise you to be honest, actively cooperate with our work, and strive for lenient treatment.”
