Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 545: neostar

”Alright, we are close to the universe,” Alan spoke to everyone on the bridge.

They saw a faintly blinking planet ahead in the chaotic expanse.

Just then, Alan frowned deeply.

”This power is...”

The following moment, a blaring red warning flashed across the ship’s consoles and screens.

”Warning! Abyssal aura has been detected from the universe up ahead.”

”The abyss?” Grey frowned.

Of course, the presence of the abyss in the cosmos was not strange. But Neostar having it this early in the timeline was definitely unexpected.

”Let’s go in,” Grey ordered calmly.

This was the seventh plane of existence. The most powerful abyssal being that could safely enter this place would be restricted to a seventh-rank entity.

Grey was not afraid, especially with Alan Benson standing by his side.

The Alan with them was a powerful clone at the eighth rank. Alan had already made his true status clear to Grey, and it made perfect sense. Alan was a formidable being with a powerful evolutionary path. He was bound to naturally reside in a higher world.

After ascending to a higher world, it was notoriously hard to descend back down to the mortal planes. That was because just a single careless move could crush a localized area of reality due to the sheer density of their power.

The thirteenth rank was just that terrifyingly strong.

The thirteenth rank was situated firmly within the higher world threshold.

Soon, the small dot in front of them started to grow infinitely bigger until a massive, shimmering membrane appeared before them.

Boom!

A powerful, oppressive force suddenly surged from the membrane, trying to forcibly stop the descension of the alien ship that was about to breach the universe.

However, as soon as the defensive system sensed the ship’s Origin Power, the oppressive force shut off, and a smooth barrier formed in the membrane, seamlessly letting the reality ship pass through.

The Origin Will had become aware: welcome visitors from a higher plane of existence had come to visit.

”So there is an active defensive system?” Grey was surprised.

”Why doesn’t it activate against the abyss?” Grey asked curiously.

”Because they use a completely different power to forcibly enter the world,” Alan spoke. ”I am sure you already know about it, Master, being a lesser heaven yourself.”

”World Breaking Source Power.” Grey nodded in realization.

That made complete sense.

The World Breaking Source Power seemed to be the innate ability of the former heaven and was a core part of the Ascendancy Domain. Azathoth was actively abusing this specific power to connect to all of the lesser universes just to steal their Origin Power.

But what exactly was his grand motive in hoarding Origin Power? That, Grey did not know.

What could the meager world power of lower mortal planes potentially help a monstrous entity like Azathoth achieve?

Or was he trying to create a massive snowballing effect, where the accumulated Origin Power stolen from across the endless reality would continue growing stronger with the passing years to achieve some ultimate goal?

Just then, the [Chaos Lotus] in his mind stirred violently.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! You have gained comprehension into the concept of ”Ascendancy World Creation.”]

Grey’s eyes widened as fragmented, ancient information rapidly flowed into his mind. It was incomplete, but it was just enough to let him piece together what it was about.

”That guy... he is trying to overachieve,” Grey murmured, momentarily speechless.

The concept of Ascendancy World Creation was terrifyingly simple in theory: take the stolen Origin Power from all over the endless reality and higher worlds, and use that concentrated mass to artificially create a brand-new world.

An Ascendancy World.

”But how is he going to do that?” Grey frowned. There were still too many missing blanks in the encrypted information he received.

Was there a distinct possibility that the Origin Power hid something profound that he wasn’t aware of yet? How else could it forge a genuine Ascendancy World?

Then there was also Tian Yuan, who apparently harbored a deep hatred for the higher world. He vividly remembered the Azure Origin Planet, where Tian Yuan had left his lingering hatred etched into the ancient altar.

They both seemed to demand the total destruction of the endless reality and the higher worlds above.

What role did he, the third Fateless One, play in this grand, cosmic scheme?

”I will have to stop them, either way,” Grey sighed.

Azathoth’s long-term goals were much clearer now.

He was aiming to create a new world of the higher Ascendancy Domain, and he would probably gain boundless Ascendancy Valor for achieving such a high, reality-altering merit, allowing him to ascend further.

Soon, the ship smoothly crossed the barrier and descended further down into the universe, aiming for the precise coordinates provided by Jasmine. It was the exact coordinate that the reality ship’s advanced systems could pinpoint accurately.

”This.” Alan frowned. As soon as he turned off the space leap mode of the ship, he saw a massive, orbital space station that looked just like a huge anchor. Thick, black smoke was billowing out of it, and on the planet directly below it, several dark corruption zones could be seen spreading. Most alarmingly, from the anchor space station, there was the unmistakable presence of a powerful abyssal enemy.

Seeing this grim sight, Grey’s expression turned cold. With a single step, his figure blurred and instantly appeared inside the space station anchor. In the dead center of it, to be precise.

”It is over, ahahahah!” A devilish, grating voice echoed out through the damaged halls.

”Neostar will now finally come to an end,” a towering abyssal being in the huge control space exclaimed, as waves of putrid abyssal power erupted from his body.

Scattered around the ruined area were several people in lab coats, all heavily injured and barely clinging to life.

Among them was Jasmine, who was looking back at the gloating abyssal being while clicking her tongue in annoyance. ”What a pain in the ass. Do you abyssal beings not have anything better to do with your time? Why attack us poor folks? We do not even have a sixth ranker here to fight you.”

”This is not about the strength of you mortals, woman. This is entirely about Origin Power!” The abyssal being sneered as he stepped heavily next to Jasmine.

”The more planets we successfully turn into a sea of corruption fields, the more effective the stealing of Origin Power will be,” the abyssal being declared with a cold, grating laugh. ”As for the pathetic beings living on them, I could not care less about their fate.”

”Alright, enough chit-chat. All of you can die now,” the abyssal being said as he slowly drew a jagged, glowing spike.

”This is an abyssal treasure imbued with the power of abyssal flames. Once it cuts you, you will end up in incredible, agonizing pain. You will feel that burning pain for hours before completely dying.”

The other researchers in the room turned pale upon hearing this, shivering in pure terror. They were already in immense pain... and now even more pain awaited them?

Jasmine’s face also distorted slightly. ”If you kill me, then there will be severe consequences.”

The abyssal being simply sneered as he casually waved his hand. Immediately, several more of these jagged spikes materialized in the air, turning rapidly to face the others and Jasmine in the room.

”Like I care,” it said with a mocking burst of laughter as it commanded the spikes. They all shot forward, aiming straight for the helpless people in the room.

However, just before they could touch anyone, they froze completely in mid-air and began to shatter apart into dust.

”I kind of think you should care.” A familiar, playful voice drilled clearly into everyone’s ears in the room. ”Because, it’s you who is going to die now.”
