Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 529: Martial Soul, Primordial Spirit, Spirit Evolutionary Path

”Then, Spirit Ancestor, can you take me into the World Tree?” Grey asked curiously. ”I initially came here to enter it and learn more about it.”

”As I mentioned before, to enter, you have to gain the permission of the World Tree’s consciousness itself. It is not about me being able to take you. Even with my Law of Spirit at the Great Circle, I cannot do it.”

”Hm.” Grey nodded.

”Since that is the case, I would like to ask one more thing since we are on the topic of your law.”

”The Spirit Elves cultivate the Spirit Evolutionary Path.”

”It is clearly derived from the law. Can you tell me how it works? You created it, right? A prestigious path only for the Spirit Elves. If it can be given to others, then it will overtake the top ten paths.”

”Sure.” The Spirit Ancestor nodded.

”There are naturally eight ranks to my path.”

”At the first rank, everyone in my world at the age of eight undergoes tempering using a law crystal.”

”The law crystals are harvested from the World Tree. Due to the Spirit Elves naturally being born as spirits, they can easily tap into the Law of Spirit and reach Minor Succession. That is the first stage for them.”

”But at the same time, they also obtain a new perk alongside the Spirit Will Suppression ability from the law.”

”That is a Martial Soul.” The Spirit Ancestor waved his hand and showed a projection of an eight-year-old elf undergoing an awakening.

The child was on an altar with a law crystal. Out of his body, a draconic figure erupted.

It was a Martial Soul.

”Martial Souls are the manifestations of one’s willpower. From the connection with the World Tree, the tree grants us Spirit Elves a Martial Soul, and it has an amplification effect on gathering power.”

”The willpower of the Martial Soul is then tempered by the Spirit Elves. Martial Souls are necessary to my path. It is through the manifestation of one’s willpower that the elves transcend their genetic limitations.”

”They cultivate using the Martial Souls. The first realm deals with making it more real. The second realm deals with unleashing the Martial Soul’s power to the outside world. The third realm involves forming a Martial Soul core using the metamorphosis energy from the third genetic limiter. The fourth is using the metamorphosis energy of the third rank to break the core into a Martial Soul domain, where the abilities, effects, and powers of the Martial Soul fuse together.”

”At the fifth rank, the Martial Soul and spirit merge, creating a Willpower core that is anchored to the World Tree. At the sixth rank, we optimize the Willpower core to give birth to a primordial spirit using metamorphosis energy and willpower energy. This allows one to reach higher dimensionality and has the primordial spirit optimize your existence inside your core. That spirit will be just as powerful as you and will act as a second life if you ever die.”

”Interesting.” Grey smiled.

”A Martial Soul? Do I also have one, Spirit Ancestor?”

”I feel like you do,” the Spirit Ancestor said with a frown.

”Do you want to try awakening one?”

”Hm. Maybe,” Grey said thoughtfully. ”But you said I need a connection to the World Tree, right? I do not have it.”

At this, the Spirit Ancestor shook his head. ”Everyone has a connection. It is rooted into every known universe after all. We Spirit Elves just have better affinity, and we can freely enter the world down below at the root. But of course, I hid that fact from the masses. No one is allowed near its vicinity. If the world under there is leaked, the consequences are not something the elven race can handle.”

”Hm.” Grey nodded.

Can I incorporate this spirit stuff into my path?

A primordial spirit granted a second life. It could be useful in combat as well.

Perhaps something even more powerful would be born from the Axiom power infusing itself into the primordial spirit.

Grey hurriedly wanted to test it out, but he held the urge in.

”Honestly, I will give it a shot.” Grey nodded.

”Then, come,” the Spirit Ancestor said with a small smile. ”Awakening a Martial Soul will not be considered you joining my path.”

”Of course, if you want to convert, you can always do it. You might not know this, but there is an entire universe separate from this one under the Earth transmigrator organization. There is one entire universe cultivating my path. It is even more widespread than yours.”

”There are powerful warriors that are being born from there.”

Grey immediately became jealous.

The people that followed his path could at best be counted at thirty trillion as of right now, and considering the population of the starry sky, it was not much.

”Does the organization give everyone a universe?”

”Yes.” The Spirit Ancestor nodded proudly. ”The leader is generous. He gave us each a universe for the ultimate leap. Even a small universe amounting to a quadrillion beings will give a ray of hope to cross the ultimate leap threshold.”

”Oh,” Grey realized. ”Senior, what is the ultimate leap?”

”The ultimate leap?” The ancestor laughed. ”Do you own a path? If you do not, then forget it. Besides, it is still far away for you. Ask me again once you reach the eighth rank.”

”...” Grey’s lips twitched. What was up with these ancestors hiding crucial details about the eighth rank and onward?

”By the way, what is the name of the organization?” Grey asked curiously.

”Helios,” the Spirit Ancestor replied. ”That’s the name the leader gave it.”

Then, he stopped at a chamber and spoke. ”We are here, Saint Grey. Let’s start the Martial Soul awakening.”

They both entered the chamber, on the center of it was a projection of the world tree.

”Go stand there and try to sense a pull in your soul, try to yank it out and maybe your Martial Soul will manifest.” Spirit Ancestor said while calmly instructing.
