Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 538: Source Law of Frost Comprehended

[You have obtained the divine ability: [Divine Retribution]]

[You have obtained the divine ability: [Calamity Lightning]]

The [Divine Retribution] allowed one to summon forth divine thunder to strike down others.

”This can be used for my sixth rank.” Grey smiled. He did not even need the Heavenly Mandate.

His path would always just be as strong as him; no one following his path would be able to go above his own level. Hence, he could use this to create a natural selection system. Only the strongest would be able to cross into the sixth rank.

This way, he would also be able to manage it on his own, and it would act as an extension of his will.

As for Calamity lightning, the lightning had destructive capabilities that can affect even space-time.

”I think it is time to meet with Alissa and comprehend the [Source Law of Frost: Comprehended].” Grey nodded as he went to meet with her.

”What do you want?” Alissa was in her room as she opened the door with a small blush on her face. A faint, pleasant scent of blooming lotuses lingered in the warm air behind her.

”I am here to comprehend your [Source Law of Frost: Close to Minor Succession]. You do not mind, right?”

”R-right now?” Alissa was taken aback.

”Yes. We can do it in your room or at a different spot. Your call.”

”Not right now,” Alissa said with a glare. ”I am busy with something.”

”With what?” Grey inquired.

However, before he could get an answer, Alissa shut the wooden door on him.

He did not bother using mind perception either. It was an invasion of privacy after all. Who knew, maybe he would see some horrifying things in there.

A few hours later, Alissa came to visit him.

She had a tinge of red on her smooth cheeks as she asked with a deadpan look. ”You wanted to comprehend my law, right?”

”Yes.” Grey nodded.

Alissa was naturally very talented. She was very close to minor succession. If possible, he wanted to help her out with it.

”Do you mind holding hands?” Grey asked suddenly.

”What?” Alissa took a quick step back.

”It is for comprehension,” Grey said, feeling speechless. ”If I comprehend your law, then I can also help you comprehend it back.”

It was also to give Alissa the power of endless potential. The Ascendancy power might not be utilized freely by Lia, but Grey could do it effortlessly. Speaking of which, he also had the Ascendancy power resting in his head. He needed to see exactly how it functioned.

Alissa soon agreed to his request, and they sat down together on a soft woven mat, holding hands. Alissa soon erupted with the [Source Law of Frost]. A chilling, glittering blue mist filled the room, coating the floors in a thin layer of sparkling ice. Soon, Grey began cycling the endless potential power between him and Alissa. They were now connected energetically; hence the transfer was made possible.

For hours on end, Alissa and Grey cultivated together, improving their law understanding amid the swirling, icy blue aura. Eventually, Grey broke through.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! Your [Source Law of Frost] has reached minor succession.]

[You have obtained the ability: [Chrono-Cryogenesis]]

[You have obtained the ability: [Dimensional Frostbite]]

[You have obtained the ability: [Sub-Zero]]

[Chrono-Cryogenesis] was interesting. He could use this to halt the interaction of particles in a localized area. For example, he could use this on someone who was on the verge of death, and they would be preserved in that frozen moment forever. Offensively, he could freeze an enemy mid-lunge. To the enemy, no time passes; they are simply trapped as a permanent, icy statue in the gallery of reality.

[Dimensional Frostbite] was just as interesting as [Chrono-Cryogenesis]. Space itself is fluid and flexible. By injecting frost into the spatial nodes, he could freeze the actual fabric of a dimension. If he froze a dimension and shattered it, then no matter what was inside it, it would die.

[Sub-Zero] was a very powerful ability. He could freeze abstract processes and destiny. If an enemy had a regenerative immortality technique, Grey could freeze the very concept of their healing. The wound would never close.

It was a conceptual attack.

He would use this to stop even an eighth ranker from healing due to the minor succession of a Source Law being equivalent to the Great Circle of one normal law.

A Great Circle law could severely harm an eighth ranker, that was for sure. But killing them was an entirely different thing. That was not something simple laws could do.

Soon, it was Alissa’s turn. A glowing white light formed around her as she frowned. Dense frost power erupted from her slender frame as she clutched Grey’s hands more tightly.

Seeing this, Grey acted. He fed her the exact insights he knew of the law and also the abilities he had just obtained. Soon, she broke through. Beautiful, crystalline frost formed everywhere on the walls as a biting, pristine coldness oozed out of Alissa.

She opened her eyes, revealing snowy white and crystalline blue eyelashes, and looked at Grey. ”I reached minor succession.”

”Congrats. Since it was me who helped you, what reward am I getting?”

”How about you call me husband and I call you wife?” Grey asked with a teasing smile.

”In your dreams.” Alissa glared at him. ”You shameless guy.”

”Hey, it was you who proposed to me back on the Blue Star when you underwent your second metamorphosis. You are such a bad girl, breaking a nice man’s heart like this,” Grey said while heaving a dramatic sigh.

Alissa stared daggers at Grey. ”I told you to not mention that again.”
