Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 266: Full use of Sword Intent

”I’m sure all of you already received my challenge invitation earlier,” Grey said calmly as he swept his gaze across the elders. ”Eterna sent it to everyone in the southern region.”

His tone remained flat.

”Since many of you chose not to accept, then I can only ask Eterna to take the next step.”

The elders’ expressions changed instantly.

They knew exactly what he meant.

It was the same method Grey had used to take over other cities.

Dig up their past.

Expose the dirt.

Let Eterna act.

And finding that dirt was trivial.

Now that Grey ruled the Mandate Province, he still had full access to its databases. Even if the alliance had technically dissolved, the records remained. Every transaction, every hidden order, every buried report was still there.

It took him only a few seconds.

Immediately, notification sounds echoed across the sky as the elders’ communicators lit up one after another.

[City Lord Xiu is no longer eligible to act as a City Lord due to past violations.]

[The challenge issued by the challenger, Grey Lockhart, will be automatically accepted.]

[City Lord Ken is no longer eligible to act as a City Lord due to past violations.]

[The challenge issued by the challenger, Grey Lockhart, will be automatically accepted.]

[City Lord Hanrik is no longer eligible to act as a City Lord due to past violations.]

[The challenge issued by the challenger, Grey Lockhart, will be automatically accepted.]

[City Lord Valen is no longer eligible to act as a City Lord due to past violations.]

[The challenge issued by the challenger, Grey Lockhart, will be automatically accepted.]

One notification after another rang out without pause.

There were many alliance elders present.

And for most of them, their names were called.

The skies fell into an eerie silence as realization sank in.

They all stared at Grey with a blank look on their faces.

Grey wondered, should he use heaven opening sword line or should he just use the infernals to get it done?

Because in the swarm of old coots, there were ones that went over the ”bad line” dictated by grey and that bad line was human trafficking or killing innocent lives.

Some did the latter.

But on the other hand, he also wanted to use Sword Intent, just trying it with the heaven opening sword line wasn’t enough.

He wanted to try it in another way.

Grey’s gaze shifted, landing on one of the city lords who had stained his hands with innocent blood.

The man felt it instantly.

His body jolted as if an invisible blade had brushed past his spine. His pupils shrank, breath hitching, and in the next moment his expression froze completely.

”This...?” someone whispered.

”City Lord Grey...” Albert muttered, stunned.

Because the instant Grey’s sword intent settled on him, the city lord’s body began to collapse from within.

It wasn’t an attack.

Grey hadn’t released energy, nor had he formed a technique. His sword intent had simply declared the man as something that should be cut.

The city lord’s own energy tried to resist, but the difference in authority was absolute. Under Grey’s intent, his body, flesh, blood, and spiritual structure were treated as impurities standing before a blade.

They were refined.

In silence, the man burst apart, his body disintegrating into a mist of blood-red fragments that evaporated into thin air within minutes, leaving nothing behind.

Sword intent wasn’t just about turning air into sword energy.

With the law of sword present, it could be imposed into a target as well.

And when something lacked the strength or qualification to resist that law, its very existence was reduced to a cut that could not be endured.

Grey didn’t wait any longer, amidst the stunned expression, he glanced at the other corrupt elders present and they all turned into blood mists one by one.

”...” Silence hung heavy in air, nobody dared to make a noise.

Yet, everyone except Albert stared at this scene with silent disbelief and despair.

Albert knew the immense power sword intent possessed, hence he wasn’t as shocked as them as he could do it to people weaker than him as well.

”Not bad.” Grey said with a cold smile. ”These people, they took innocent lives with their hands, i’m surprised that you haven’t found out about it, Albert.”

”What?” Albert was shocked when he heard this. Take innocent lives?

Where did City Lord Grey find this information from?

Of course, these informations were something that had already been destroyed, but what was he?

He was a being that no technology could suppress, his mind interface was beyond technology, the local database, the place equivalent to the dark web had everything and recovering information took few seconds at best.

His mind has been conditioned further to the point he can handle more load than before, thousands of data could be processed in seconds of time.

It was exhilarating.

He was at a completely different level than before, in terms of bodily strength, energy levels and mind power.

Every aspect of his body was equally strengthened, it gave him a sense of liberation that no other evolvers had.

”Well, as for the rest of you.” Grey swept his gaze over the reaming corrupt elders.

There were still five or six remaining out of the few, but they haven’t done anything that drastic or crossed the line.

Since that’s the case, just heavily injuring them to the point they can no longer evolve again will be sufficient.

He snapped his fingers this time, his sword intent surged at his command and immediately the remaining corrupt elders fell from the sky like rain with their body battered in blood.

There was no need for mercy, people like them will only make matters worse for him if he just let them continue having their powers.

He had read many novels before and understood the consequences of not crippling people like them.

When he was gone these same people would cause trouble.

That’s how it usually went.
