Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 142: Fragment of the Chaos seal (2)

The mysterious power gathered together and took a humanoid shape, and the taken humanoid shape was tiny, petite, and filled with mysterious energy.

Soon, light burst out and a form was revealed.

It was a young girl. She looked no less than 10 to 11 years old and she had flowing black hair which glowed like the starry sky, a small round yet sharp face, a tall nose, and glowing bright grey eyes.

She curiously looked around her with a blank look on her face, then her eyes fell onto Grey who was staring back at her with a dumbfounded expression.

Immediately seeing him, she tilted her head with an indifferent look on her face, and the next moment she shot off towards Grey.

Coming close, she stretched her arms out and hugged Grey.

”Fa... Father.” She softly opened her mouth and said this with a blank look on her face.

”You what?” Grey’s expression changed as he looked absolutely terrified when he heard her say that.

”You! Who are you calling father? I’m only seventeen years old and I haven’t even married yet!” Grey exclaimed as he tried to push the girl away.

However, to his surprise, she did not budge. Rather, even after trying to push her with his force, she did not move an inch, and physically he was extremely strong, stronger than a martial artist who was one or two levels higher than him.

”Hey, let go!” Grey said in panic. ”I’m still young. I haven’t even married yet! How can you be my daughter!”

”If you randomly start calling someone dad then people will misunderstand things! Do you know what social death is?!” Grey said with a darkened expression.

However, she did not listen to any of this.

She hugged him tightly as if she had found her long lost father.

She looked up at him and spoke. ”Fa... father!”

Grey’s expression darkened.

”I’m not your father, kid.” Grey said with twitching lips. ”You got the wrong person!”

However, hearing this, the girl paused.

Her expression turned frosty the instant she heard his words.

”Y... you a... aren’t father...?” The girl tilted her head as she let go of Grey.

Seeing this, Grey heaved a sigh of relief and then spoke. ”That’s right, I’m not your father.”

”Not father.” The girl had a contemplative look on her face.

”Not father!” She spoke again, and this time powerful energy erupted out from her. ”Must eliminate... People... Bad... They hurt Hong!”

The instant she spoke, energy condensed near her hands, and the pink realmheart energy effortlessly surged as it rushed into her palm.

Then, without hesitation, she shot the energy forward.

”Shit!”

A chill ran down Grey’s spine as he saw the attack being charged, and the next moment it was right next to him.

This strength definitely was somewhere at the late stage of 2nd rank.

No, there was no way that even a late stage 2nd ranker who had just entered late stage would be able to deflect this.

Grey’s eyes flashed and immediately the world flashed black and white, and everything around him paused, both the attack and the attacker.

”Tch! Looks like I’ll have to catch her off guard.” Grey swiftly shot off and appeared right behind her, and by that time, the second had passed.

With his 2nd rank level mind, his thoughts were several thousand times faster than they used to be, and he could quickly execute thoughts in less time than what a normal 2nd ranked esper was capable of doing.

Grey’s eyes shined with purple brilliance as they once again gave back the colour the world had lost, and the condensed energy beam of the girl shot off into blank space, hitting nothing.

The girl tilted her head, and then just as quickly she turned around and shot off another energy beam in quick succession. This time, she took less time than before.

”You sneaky little demon!” Grey cursed as his spatial ring flashed and immediately a talisman burst out.

Flawless mirror circle array.

This array, he last used when he was escaping from Nova City to deflect an attack from a 2nd rank being two months ago, and since then he had been slowly infusing energy into a new one, with one set up as backup as well.

The backup could now reflect back an attack tenfold of its original power, and the main one on the other hand could deflect back fifteenfold.

And now he had used his backup talisman.

Buzz.

The condensed energy beam collided with the talisman that appeared before Grey and immediately it absorbed all the attacks.

The next moment, an even more intense energy rushed out from it and shot directly towards the girl.

The girl had a slightly surprised expression on her face, and the next moment her body was completely evaporated.

”What a strange thing.” Grey shook his head while shaking his head.

The girl, who was supposedly the so-called axe’s consciousness, had suddenly come out and called him father and then proceeded to attack him because he was not her father.

Grey felt wronged. What did he do?!

He did not know whether to laugh or cry anymore.

However, just as quickly, his expression fell.

Almost at the same speed the girl was evaporated, light emerged and she stood in the same spot she was before.

”You.” The girl had a thoughtful expression on her face. ”You are father!”

As she said that, she rushed forward and tried to hug Grey yet again.

Of course he was prepared this time. He did not let her get close to him, he activated his time ability and immediately everything froze, then he put some generous distance between him and the girl.

Time began to flow naturally again, however Grey’s expression was dark.

He looked down to see the little girl who was now once again hugging him.

Grey stared blankly at the sky.

It was over.

There was no one going to save him now.

Sighing, Grey spoke again. ”Look kid, I’m really not your father. Do I even look like your father?”

To this, the girl simply looked up and spoke. ”Father doesn’t have an appearance.”

”Huh?” Grey was tongue tied.

Then how did this little girl come to the conclusion that he was her father?

Then Grey froze a bit.

He hesitantly looked at the girl and unleashed his nexus energy.

The instant he did, the little girl’s expression brightened even more. ”Father!”

She called out.

Grey’s expression darkened.

”So it was the nexus energy.” Grey’s lips twitched involuntarily.

”Is nexus energy your father?” Grey asked.

”N... nexus?” The girl tilted her head. ”Hong doesn’t know. Our father created us three.”

”Great, more confusion.” Grey sighed.

”Who are the three you are talking about?”

The girl who seemed to be called Hong, had a thoughtful expression, as if trying to remember something, and then she nodded with a blank yet serious look.

”I don’t know.”

Grey just sighed even more heavily than before.

”Can you let go of me, my daughter?” Grey asked in a sour voice.

He definitely did not like the idea of having a daughter, but if calling her that would make her let go, then he could at least find a way to escape.

Hearing him call her daughter, the girl’s eyes brightened and she nodded heavily and let go of Grey.
