Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 105: Secret Realm (4)

However, reality was often disappointing.

As soon as he reached the edge of the secret realm and began comprehending the law of space, three people in combat suits with ”Interwire” written on them approached.

”You must be Grey Lockhart, right?” The one in the center, none other than Anderson, spoke first.

Grey shot them a side eye, then turned his attention back to the spatial distortion of the secret realm.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By gazing at the Secret Realm, you’ve gained more insight into the Law of Space.]

Other things were secondary!

The Law of Space was the current priority!

Seeing Grey blatantly ignore them, the three fell silent, lost for words.

What was wrong with this guy?

Who ignores someone after being called out?

Is he deaf?

”Hey you! I’m talking to you!” Anderson shouted, his voice louder.

”...”

Silence.

Grey continued staring at the secret realm as if he’d found a hidden vault of treasures.

”You!” Anderson barked, his expression twisting with fury. The veins on his neck bulged as he pointed at Grey. ”Who the hell do you think you are, huh?! You dare ignore me, a member of the Interwire Corporation?!”

Anderson had never been treated like this before!

How dare Grey treat him like this!

The atmosphere grew tense. A few onlookers from other corporations and families turned their heads, whispering quietly among themselves.

”He’s asking for death, Young Master Anderson!” one of Anderson’s lackeys shouted. ”Someone like him doesn’t even know how high the heavens are or how deep the earth runs!”

Another lackey sneered. ”Tch, these nobodies always think they’re special after getting a few lucky breaks. Maybe we should teach him what happens when you disrespect the Interwire name.”

Grey, however, paused for a moment, then abruptly turned to the three Interwire goons.

A flabbergasted look formed on his face.

What is this?!

Did he just witness the legendary Young Master and his goons provoking a hidden tiger clique?

And it was surprisingly directed at him?!

How did he accidentally trigger a protagonist event like this?

Also who even talked about the immensity of heaven and earth anymore?

Brothers, this was a city full of skyscrapers, not sages on a mountaintop.

”What do you want?” Grey asked, his lips twitching.

He could slap them to death right here, but doing so would make entering the secret realm harder.

He hesitated, then a thoughtful expression appeared on his face. ”Can you step back a little? Your breath kinda stinks.”

”You!” Anderson’s anger flared. ”My breath doesn’t stink! Yours does!”

He leaned toward the lackey on his right and demanded, ”Does my breath smell?!”

The lackey’s expression turned awkward as Anderson pointed at his mouth.

”O-Of course not, Young Master!” the lackey said with a half-forced smile. ”Your breath smells like, uh, expensive perfume!”

It was clear to everyone that his breath did in fact, stink.

”Hear that, you bastard?” Anderson shouted. ”My breath doesn’t stink! Yours does!”

But to his surprise, Grey had already gone back to staring at the secret realm.

”...”

”You, Grey Lockhart!” Anderson roared, not able to take Grey ignoring him.

Hence, he decided to go straight to the point.

”You’ve offended people you shouldn’t have offended! That’s why I’m here today! You’ve offended the Interwire Corporation and now you’ll have to pay the price!”

The onlookers gasped. To offend the Interwire Corporation was no different than asking for death.

”Huh?” Grey tilted his head. ”I don’t think I’ve ever encountered anyone from the Interwire Corporation before. How could I offend someone I’ve never met? I don’t remember sending the corpo employees any death threats recently.”

A thoughtful expression appeared on his face. ”Oh wait, I do remember something. Is this about the cup noodles I accidentally knocked over from an Interwire employee last month?”

Grey remembered it vividly. He had tipped a bowl of cup noodles belonging to an employee while he was out at night with Mimi tasting Ashspire City’s traditional food. The Interwire employee started cursing his grandmother and Mimi; the situation escalated, Grey beat him up publicly, and then fled the scene.

This wasn’t something to be offended over, but considering how these Interwire people acted, they might as well be offended and send an army after him.

Power blinded people and made them do things that defied common sense.

The onlookers murmured among themselves.

”Huh? Is the Interwire company so petty as to go after someone over a cup of noodles?”

”Hey, it’s the Interwire company, anything’s possible.”

Anderson cleared his throat when he heard the company’s name being tarnished and spoke loudly to catch everyone’s attention.

”Friends, Interwire isn’t that petty. We wouldn’t pick on someone over a cup of noodles. The enmity with this guy here is due to the Azrael Corporation.”

”Azrael Corporation?” Grey’s eyes narrowed. He knew what this meant.

Interwire was definitely colliding with the High Order, and by now they should have already identified him. It made sense, they were here to eliminate him.

”You work for the Azrael Corporation, and Azrael offended the Interwire Corporation,” Anderson sneered. ”Now you’ll have to pay the price.”

He turned to the crowd. ”My fellow evolvers, if you find this guy inside the secret realm, hand him to us. Interwire will pay generously. This is my word, Anderson of the Interwire Company!”

The onlookers began chatting and some changed the way they looked at Grey. They had never seen him before, so he must be irrelevant, and irrelevant people were easy targets.

This world followed the law of the jungle: the strong preyed on the weak, and the weak could only cower in fear.

Besides, a favor from the Interwire Company was not something to miss.

Grey looked at the scene with a smile.

He didn’t care in the slightest.

What could these first-rankers do to him?

The best they could do was tickle him.

”At least I won’t be bored inside,” Grey thought, laughing inwardly.

It would be fun to slap these people with no common sense to death.
