Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 106: Secret Realm (5)

Time passed swiftly and an hour had passed. During this time, Grey stood by the side, amidst the occasional gazes directed at him by the other participants, and continued comprehending the spatial law.

In one hour, it was safe to say that his insight into the law had reached absolutely nowhere. He believed it hadn’t even reached 1%.

It might be because he didn’t have a direct source to comprehend from aside from the spatial distortion. If he had a direct force like he had with the heavenly tribulation lightning stored inside his body, which he then transferred into a law crystal later, he could’ve comprehended it faster.

But where would he find the force of space? Perhaps he might be able to find something inside the secret realm.

He also believed that if he was a second rank or third, he would’ve had a better time comprehending the law than being at the 1st rank. Your life level actually makes a difference in cases like this.

At the same time he was musing, the secret realm abruptly shook. Its cracked appearance trembled and the staircase beneath it began shaking. Then, immediately, like a whirlpool in an ocean, a fissure appeared in the place where the secret realm was at. It glowed with a pitch-black energy.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By gazing at the Secret Realm, you’ve gained more insight into the Law of Space.]

With the opening, Grey began gaining even more insight into the law of space.

Just then, several streaks of light emerged in the sky. One by one, they descended into the fortress.

There were three of them, an old man in the center and two bodyguards at the back.

The old man was none other than Marcius, and the people standing in the air behind him were two powerful 2nd-rank experts of the Interwire Company, all at the fifth level of the 2nd rank.

Seeing them appear immediately caught the attention of every participant.

”Huh? Where is the City Lord? Why is the CEO of Interwire here?”

”Did something happen to him?”

”Don’t you know? The City Lord hasn’t been making any appearance for the past few days. Instead, it is CEO Marcius who makes appearances in his stead.”

”Huh? How does that make sense? Shouldn’t a representative of the Ardent be the one making the appearance?”

”Who knows.”

The participants speaking glanced at the cold and unbothered participants of the Ardent Family. They all wore combat suits that could tank powerful attacks one or two times from someone stronger than them and keep the body’s energy regulated for lengthy missions.

Grey didn’t have one, but that was partially due to the fact that he didn’t need a combat suit to regulate his energy. He had perfect control over it thanks to his heaven-defying comprehension.

But of course, he could definitely use one to defend himself against a powerful attack. However, for this secret realm, it simply wasn’t necessary.

”Everyone.” Then, Marcius’s powerful voice spread out throughout the fortress in a way everyone could hear him.

Marcius glanced down with an indifferent expression on his face and spoke. ”The secret realm has now been opened.”

”This realm has been a core part of Ashspire City since ancient times. It was here even before Ashspire City was created. But despite its age, it still has countless treasures hiding deep within its structure. That’s because the secret realm only opens for precisely one day.

”Most won’t even be able to explore even 1% of the realm, and the location you spawn in is completely random. It is up to luck whether you actually encounter treasure or danger. The secret realm is almost as big as our city, littered with mountains and a dense magical forest filled with dangerous monsters.

”However, worry not. The monsters in the realm will never be able to reach the 2nd rank due to the restriction. The cosmic energy inside the secret realm is almost 100 times better than that in Blue Star. Hence, those who wish can also gather it and utilize it for cultivation later.”

Then, he paused and spoke. ”Alright, that’s enough chit-chat. Everyone, there is no time to waste. Enter the secret realm, may luck be with you.”

”Yes!” The participants all spoke out at the same time and immediately began entering the secret realm one by one.

Their figures flickered and vanished as they entered the secret realm.

However, Grey wasn’t really paying attention to Marcius’s speech. Once he entered the secret realm, he wouldn’t be able to comprehend the space law, hence he used the last minute to gain more comprehension. Every tiny insight counted.

When Marcius stopped his speech, Grey also stopped. It was finally time to enter the secret realm.

Coincidentally, he also realized that Marcius was looking at him with a cold look on his face.

The glance was caught by the leftover participants there. The participants looked at Grey with questioning yet mocking expressions that suggested, ”You are already dead,” before entering the secret realm.

However, Grey, seeing this, was unfazed. He didn’t even feel a ripple in his heart.

Grey matched the guy’s gaze and flashed him a grin.

Seeing this, Marcius merely sneered without saying anything. He didn’t take action here to take out Grey because he wanted to give this chance to Anderson and help him enter the ranks of the High Order. That way, it would be beneficial to the interwire corporation in the long run.

’You’re dead, kid,’ Marcius thought in his mind.

By now, everyone had entered, and only he was left to enter the secret realm.

However, just as Grey was about to enter, he turned to Marcius and, with a big smile, he activated Telepathy.

”Your Interwire goons and the Ardent Family,” Grey’s playful voice echoed thunderously into Marcius’s head. ”I’ll make sure that they are treated very well inside the secret realm. Also, good luck with whatever you guys are about to do with the High Order. You’ll need it.”

As he said that, he unleashed Heavenly Tribulation. Immediately, a terrifying power broke out from him, alerting everyone in the vicinity and causing them to look over.

”WHAT?!” Marcius’s expression changed drastically, and a terrifying energy erupted from him. It instantly went for Grey.

However, Grey, seeing this, laughed and directly jumped into the secret realm and vanished. The attack landed on the stairs below the secret realm, which were directly reduced to ruins.

”T-Telepathy!” Marcius exclaimed in disbelief. ”H-He has undergone law transformation!”

Marcius was shocked beyond words.

”Sir Marcius,” one of the bodyguards spoke in urgency. ”I just sensed a law. I-It was coming from that kid!”

They were shocked beyond words. The guy’s life level they sensed clearly made it obvious that he was only a middle-stage 1st ranker. How was it possible for him to reach law transformation?

No, forget that. How was it possible to even comprehend law transformation at the 1st rank?

Because it was obvious that the kid was a 1st ranker, as he was directly able to enter the secret realm. A 2nd rank wouldn’t even be able to breach the barrier of the realm. It was impossible.

”We need to inform Lord Varyn!” Marcius said with a grim expression on his face. ”We’ve severely underestimated him.”

From the way the kid spoke, it felt like he knew about the High Order’s plan too.

”Grey Lockhart.” He gnashed his teeth.

For the first time ever, Marcius felt fear from a 1st ranker.
