Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 136: Breakthrough (2)

Walking up to the talismans that were neatly placed together, one particular one caught his attention as it was the only one in there.

The others appeared to be a multitude of defensive talismans.

”All of them are at 3rd rank, they can take the hit of a 3rd rank being once or twice.”

He did not need any appraisal skill to deduce that, he was after all a formation master.

”Not bad.” Grey waved his hands and immediately the defensive formation went inside his spatial ring.

Then his eyes fell onto the single talisman that was left.

He activated the appraisal skill to know its name.

[Burst Force Talisman - temporarily grants one the ability to reach peak 2nd rank level of power. This talisman is meticulously crafted and refined by a fourth rank expert to make it possible. The effect lasts for an hour.]

”YES!” Grey immediately jumped in joy. ”This is exactly what I wanted!”

”Plan B isn’t needed!” Grey was elated.

The Plan B was very simple, it was using the Death Ascension Art. With his foundation stabilized, he could use it once again.

This powerful technique allowed him to grow strong to the same level as his opponent, and at the cost of worsening his foundation again to one hit kill level, he would be able to effectively put a stop to the high order.

However, that in the end came with a cost. If he used that method, he would have to spend years stabilizing his foundation, that was right years, while 1st rank took him 2 months, 2nd rank would take him a year or more.

That was simply wasting precious time and his own talent. Hence, he placed his bets on the secret realm and his bet had won with flying colors.

”An hour? I don’t even need five minutes.” Grey snorted.

The power of a 12th level 2nd ranker was at his disposal.

”Good, let’s not waste any time now.” Grey nodded, satisfied.

Everyone should already have begun fighting the high order and the array he placed should have already taken effect. Now all he needed to do was clear out the variable which was Varyn and put his ’real plan’ into motion.

It was his plan to obtain resources.

While the core essence could be utilized, he believed he should save it up for crucial moments. For example, this core essence could be used to directly break bottlenecks, the usefulness of it far outweighed it being just used as a resource for cultivation.

Of course, he was still going to use this essence to reach 2nd rank, his breakthrough would stabilize quickly that way.

”Let’s begin.”

With everything settled, Grey quickly grabbed hold of the core essence with telekinesis.

He believed he could not breakthrough in here. Hence, taking the core essence, he left the treasury of Brandon and flew into the dark space of the inheritance ground.

Sitting cross-legged in the air, Grey began.

He directly absorbed the core essence into his body which then traveled into his elixir field.

Immediately, the vortex of nexus energy turned disorderly, his mind began to shake and the purple nexus psionic energy flame within his mind began to dance wildly as if it was out of control, the muscles in Grey’s body also began to tremble.

The three aspects of his existence, they trembled together, forming a resonance, they were now fully connected to each other.

”Now!”

Grey guided the core essence within the elixir field, the golden energy flickered and blinked rapidly like atoms splitting. Some parts of the core essence split into small tiny sparks of energy and immediately, it rushed into his vortex of energy, following that, it shot into his mind and finally the sparks traveled through his meridians and shot into his body.

Crk! Crk! Crk!

All at the same time, the bottleneck that stood before him broke. The vortex of energy broke through the barrier of his energy fields and grew bigger, the flames in his mind set ablaze as it grew stronger, and finally the golden essence combined with heavenly tribulation rushed into his body, nourishing and strengthening it.

1st rank, level 7!

However, it did not stop there. Grey utilized the Nexus Ascension Scripture over and over, and continuing this momentum, he shot through another level.

1st rank, level 8!

A powerful energy fluctuation spread out from where he sat cross-legged, the sheer intensity caused the lotus-like platform to tremble slightly. However, soon a barrier formed, preventing anything from happening to it.

Grey did not mind all this, his mind was completely focused on breakthrough levels.

One by one, powerful energy fluctuations shot out from his body, growing stronger with each passing moment.

1st rank, level 9... level 10... level 11... level 12!

As he reached level 12, more and more core essence broke apart and rushed into his system, supplementing the breakthrough and quickly stabilizing it.

”I’ve reached 12th level.” Grey exhaled, turbid air exiting his body.

The rapid breakthrough had also caused his body to excrete the impurities within his body.

”But there is still some impurities left.” Grey observed it clearly and he realized there were still more impurities hidden beneath the surface.

Since he was going to undergo metamorphosis and transition into a 2nd rank lifeform, he had to make it perfect, he had to condition his body to its perfect limit before he attempted it.

Usually, these impurities were extremely hard to cleanse without external support from an expert, but with core essence, it was definitely possible.

He hesitated no further, he channeled the core essence and the tiny specks of it rushed into these hidden corners of his body and cells, cleansing the impurities one by one and pushing it out.

More and more impurities began to get pushed off Grey’s body, even Grey himself was surprised at the amount of impurities he had and it was not over. Channeling more of the essence, its power traveled down even deeper, searching for impurities and immediately removing them.

The cells, the organs, the skin, the muscles, even the bowel, all of the impurities from his body were pushed out of his body. After some minutes, there was no longer any amount of impurities left in his body.

It had achieved spotless perfection.

Starting 2nd rank, one did not need food to sustain themselves or have a need to go to the bathroom, hence impurities from food and the bowel could sit inside the body for a long long time, but even that was effectively pushed out of his body.

”It’s done.” Grey looked around and he did not feel even a speck of impurities inside his body.

On the other hand, he did smell really bad, perhaps even worse than a pig’s den.

However, now was not the time to think about all that, because it was finally time to advance to the 2nd rank.
