Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 130: Inheritance (2)

Grey placed his right hand on the metal surface of the furnace. The carvings trembled faintly in response, and with a soft rumble, the lid above loosened. He gripped the edge of it and slowly lifted it up.

A small light spilled out from the furnace as soon as he opened it and looked inside. Sitting in the center of the furnace was a small pill bottle. It was plain, made from a milky white jade like material with subtle blue veins running beneath the surface, giving it a quiet refined appearance.

You did not get bottles like these in this age anymore. They were placed in modern bottles with a modern and sleek finish to them.

”Did someone just leave this pill here? Won’t it expire?”

Grey was curious, but he had read on the internet somewhere that 2-star pills and above could easily survive hundreds and thousands of years with the right material and as long as there were no impurities in them.

Grey then lifted the bottle from the furnace. The bottle was cool to the touch, almost as if it was suppressing the energy inside. He then removed the cap.

A wave of rich herbal fragrance exploded outward and struck his face. His pores opened instantly as the smell rushed into his senses, thick and pure, the kind that only appeared in high grade pills.

Blue pills rested inside the bottle. They had a soft glow, like tiny fragments of condensed starlight, and each one released a faint thread of azure mist.

”Such a strong herbal smell. Just what rank is this pill?” Grey narrowed his eyes as he examined it.

He then activated his appraisal skill. Immediately, a glowing text appeared in his mental interface showing its information.

[Azure Vitality Pills (2-Star - Peerless Grade) - Pill condensed by herbs with dense amounts of vital essence. The pill is created after handpicking herbs that had been nourished by cosmic energy and developed vital essence in the process. The pill eliminates the impurities in the herbs and amplifies the effect over just taking the herbs.]

”A vitality pill?” Grey was surprised.

”To think it would be a vitality pill.”

This pill was basically a treasure for a 2nd ranker. They needed a huge amount of vital essence for each transformation in the stage.

Not only that, this pill was peerless grade.

”The heavens are truly generous!” Grey said with a wide grin on his face. ”To think I would receive something as generous as this. Forget the beast cores, these pills alone will help when I’m undergoing metamorphosis!”

Grey then shifted his eyes toward the stone slab.

It stood silently on the platform, its surface covered in neat ancient characters that glimmered faintly.

Although the ancient characters were unable to be read, the instant he laid his eyes on it, he began to understand the words automatically. It was likely a hidden formation at play.

And coincidentally, the stone slab began with the recipe of the Azure Vitality Pill.

”The pill recipe!” Grey was excited.

The stone slab actually contained the recipe. As someone with a comprehension that defied all logic, finding the recipe basically made it possible for him to easily create them all by himself.

Grey gave himself a proud nod. Indeed, having such a heaven defying comprehension did come in handy. With it, he did not have to worry about auxiliary things like pill making and formations. When people took years to become masters, it took him less than five minutes.

[Azure Vitality Pill Ingredients]

[Vital Pulse Ginseng: A ginseng root that beats like a tiny heart, producing fresh vital essence after absorbing pure energy.

Ganoderma: A medicinal mushroom used to preserve the pill and prevent decay, and the more aged it is, the longer the pill can endure without losing potency.

Cloud-silk Roots: A root that helps maintain the energy of the pill.

Azure Spiritleaf: A glowing leaf from the azure spirit tree that is utilized to amplify the vital essence’s effects.]

[Refining Method]

[Begin by placing the Vital Pulse Ginseng into the furnace first, allowing its vital essence to melt and form the core foundation of the pill.

When the essence becomes stable and begins to circulate, add the Cloud-silk Roots so their gentle energy can weave through the mixture and prevent the essence from scattering.

Once the flow settles, place the Azure Spiritleaf into the furnace, letting its glow merge with the liquid to amplify the strength of the vital essence.

After the mixture brightens, add the aged Ganoderma last so it can bind the medicinal power together and preserve the pill’s longevity (optional).]

[Your comprehension defies the heaven! By observing the refining method of Azure Vitality Pill you have comprehended ’Azure Vitality Pill’.]

[Your comprehension defies the heaven! By comprehending the Azure Vitality Pill making method you have gained insight into alchemy!]

”Oh? No changes to the pill?” Grey was surprised. Only rarely did his ability not upgrade something, and not doing that meant that this pill recipe was already perfect.

It did not need any further improvements.

”Well, that just means I can use this pill without any problems in the future.”

Even his own comprehension had deemed it perfect. It indirectly meant that this pill recipe did not have anything that could harm him either. It was a legitimate pill technique.

”Does that mean I officially became an alchemy master?”

”It’s far too easy than I thought.” Grey said with twitching lips.

He had directly comprehended a 2-star pill recipe. That meant he qualified as a 2-star alchemy master. He directly skipped a stage.

”Of course, handling these herbs is no ordinary task.” Grey glanced at the stone slab once more.

The herbs mentioned in the recipe were all 2-star herbs.

They were more powerful than 1-star herbs, and with each increase in star, the harder it would be to melt and assimilate into the furnace.

Controlling and guiding these herbs was definitely something that only 2-ranked beings could do, as they would either cause deviations in the pill making process or directly explode from the lack of control and failure of breaking down the herbs.

With that out of the way, Grey continued reading. The stone slab did not just have the information about the pill. Just below it was the information of this place, this herb garden.
