Chapter 807 - Change of Rules

The Secondary Sector had turned from a land of opportunity to a land of stagnation.

Complaints upon complaints reached the Contrast Empire.

This was not how it was supposed to be!

The Contrast Empire was responsible for this Secondary Sector, and they had better do something to change it back to how it used to be!

Yet, for a long time, the complaints were just ignored.

They had always received complaints about the Secondary Sector. Most of the complaining people were just too weak to make it.

So what if there were some strong Formation Arrays? Just get stronger!

However, the complaints became increasingly numerous, and they also began coming from stronger Crushers.

Advanced Crushers.

Then, Fulfilled Crushers.

And then, a complaint from a Unique Crusher arrived.

The Head of Starsign had complained about the Secondary Sector, but because of her status as a member of the Array of Stars, the complaint was ignored.

But then, the Head of Dawnlight complained, and the Contrast Empire finally started to take the complaints seriously.

The Countess investigated the Karmic Luck coming from the Secondary Sector. Naturally, the primary reason why they had created the Secondary Sector in the first place was to gain Karmic Luck by helping a bunch of Seekers.

After finishing her investigation, the Countess came to the conclusion that the Karmic Luck the Contrast Empire received from the Secondary Sector dropped by over 50%.

This was serious, and she quickly sent several Crushers, who werenʼt part of the Secondary Sector, to the Secondary Sector to investigate.

The investigators traveled to different powers, asking them about what had happened.

When they returned and gave their answers, the Countess finally knew in detail how things had gotten to this point.

The first thing she did was to contact Inner World. Azure Comet had to be a powerful Formation Array Master, and someone this knowledgeable in this field was probably part of their Organization.

However, Inner World kept saying that this was not one of their members. They even gave the Countess the blueprints to Kyleʼs Formation Arrays and highlighted several problems that no member of Inner World would overlook.

The Countess was a bit surprised. Azure Comet was not part of Inner World, but he was this good at designing Formation Arrays?

Even more, he was most likely still a Crusher, which meant he had gotten all of these insights in a shockingly short time. He had to be part of another Peak Organization then.

Next, she asked the Grand Exchange, but they also said that Azure Comet wasnʼt part of their Organization. They had a couple of Crushers who could create such powerful Formation Arrays, but they were dedicated Formation Array Masters who would never go to a place like the Secondary Sector.

Eventually, the Countess went to the Array of Stars with annoyance. Azure Comet had to be one of their members.

Yet, even the Chief Overseer said that he didnʼt know Azure Comet. If they had someone as talented as Azure Comet as a member, the Chief Overseer would know them.

Being able to learn so much about Formation Arrays in such a short span of time required terrifying talent in Law Comprehension. The Chief Overseerʼs branch only had a handful of those, and almost all of them were Sages, Spirit Lords, or Ascendants.

They used to have a Crusher who was this talented, but that guy was branded a criminal. However, it couldnʼt be that guy either. That guy had never shown the slightest interest in Formation Arrays.

After multiple conversations, the Countess accepted that Azure Comet was not part of the Array of Stars.

Over the next few years, she asked all the other Peak Organizations about Azure Comet, but none of them said he was one of their members.

Eventually, the Countess had to accept that Azure Comet was apparently unaffiliated.

An unaffiliated Seeker managed to get this good at creating Formation Arrays?

If there were an opportunity, she would try to recruit him for the Contrast Empire, but for now, she had to find a way to fix the Secondary Sector.

Changing the rules of the Secondary Sector was a significant act that required deliberation.

They were only changed once every couple of hundred thousand years.

The Countess drafted a change of rules and sent it to the other Peak Organizations involved in the Secondary Sector. She could also just enforce the rules, but she didnʼt want to needlessly antagonize the other powers.

The other powers agreed to the change of rules, except for the Array of Stars.

The Array of Stars wanted to change the part that said that Azure Comet would be banned from the Secondary Sector. The Secondary Sector was a place to foster talents. What had Azure Comet done except for being far better than everyone else?

The Countess amended that part of the rules, and finally, all the Peak Organizations agreed.

Then, the new rules were enforced.

First, Formation Arrays could only be built by members of an Organization in the Secondary Sector, and these members could only build Formation Arrays for their own Organization.

If the Formation Array Master left the Organization, the Formation Arrays had to be destroyed. The Organization would keep all of the materials.

Second, all of Azure Cometʼs Formation Arrays had to be destroyed as well. Any Organization that didnʼt comply would have all of its members banned from the Secondary Sector.

When the rules took effect, an uproar went through the Secondary Sector.

The Organizations that hadnʼt employed Azure Comet laughed loudly, while Azure Cometʼs former clients cursed him.

They had paid Azure Comet a significant sum of money for these Formation Arrays, and now, they had to destroy them?!

Sadly, there was nothing they could do. They had to comply.

When the Contrast Empire declared that all of Azure Cometʼs Formation Arrays had been destroyed, it was like a tiger had been let loose.

Tons and tons of declarations of battle appeared everywhere.

It was almost like the Chaotic Period had returned.

It would take some time for outsiders to return to the Secondary Sector, but over time, the Secondary Sector would recover.

Soon, everything would return to normal.

Just a couple of years after the rules had been amended, Kyle left his seclusion and looked at his Karmic Luck.

ʼHow?!ʼ he thought as he looked at the Sin Flames around him. ʼWhat the fuck did I do?! I was just comprehending Laws! How did I suddenly lose so much Karmic Luck?!ʼ

ʼThis entire Karmic Luck system is absolute bullshit! I didnʼt want to hurt anyone… well, maybe except for Dawnlight and the Four Tigers Sect, but that doesnʼt matter!ʼ

ʼItʼs obvious that my Formation Arrays must have done something, but I canʼt imagine what could have led to this! We came to an agreement! You give me money, I give you Formation Arrays!ʼ

ʼHow is making an equal trade, in which both partners agree, so bad that you delete seven fucking levels of Karmic Luck?!ʼ

ʼThis is fucking unfair!ʼ

ʼI wanted to gain Karmic Luck, not lose it!ʼ

The illusory image of the mysterious owner and creator of this world appeared in Kyleʼs mind. In his mind, the creator appeared as a bright silhouette of a man.

ʼI wanted to help! I literally wanted to play by your stupid fucking Karmic Luck bullshit-ass rules, and you give me this shit? !ʼ

ʼWhoever designed these rules is a bumbling fucking moron! Karmic Luck? Karma? Isnʼt Karma about doing good and receiving good?!ʼ

ʼThis has nothing to do with being good!ʼ

ʼThis is all about your bullshit goal of fucking revenge!ʼ

ʼBro, I really wanted to believe you. I exist in this world you created. This is my home. But…ʼ

The image of a black creature with several arms and swords appeared in Kyleʼs mind. It looked similar to the Lord of the Cult of Final Fate. Kyle imagined that the God of the Cult looked like that.

ʼThe God of the Cult slowly starts to look like a better God than you!ʼ
