The First Tower of the World—no, the greatest mistake of the Shadow Clan was its reckless expansion.

Assassins were meant to dwell in the darkness, yet in their pursuit of power—seeking to rival the Elemental Clan, the Demon Court, and even the Angel Clan—they had lost themselves in blind ambition.

This was a true reversal of priorities.

Once, the Shadow Clan’s power had been feared—so much so that none of those in the Outer Circle dared to betray them.

However now, with the Shadow Clan barely able to protect itself, what reason did they have to hesitate?

“Hehehe…” Seven coldly smirked, watching the storm brewing within this branch of the First Tower of the World.

[This is just the beginning. If you want to stand against our Demon Court, you’ll need to prepare for annihilation.] With a smirk, Seven’s longsword suddenly shattered…

*Swooosh, swooosh, swooosh…* In an instant, it transformed into thousands of streaks of radiant light, enveloping the entire branch headquarters.

This was a Tier-5 Spirit Weapon, Thousand Blades. It could instantly split into countless streaks of light, which would cut everything apart. Every single blade of light was an extension of Seven’s sword.

This was a massacre technique, a skill born for slaughter.

Fighting Seven was no different than battling against thousands of Sevens at once.

Though the notion seemed exaggerated, it only proved the terrifying skill Seven had honed over decades within the First Tower of the World.

After all, assassins were born to kill!

…

Meanwhile, in the deepest shadows of the starry expanse…

“We’ve been exposed…” A heavy voice resounded, plunging the entire great hall into silence.

If one looked around here, they would find the surroundings filled with an unprecedented level of luxury.

This was actually a grand palace, towering above Heaven, guarded by countless golden-armored celestial soldiers.

At its center, wreathed in thick white mist, stood several majestic figures in utter stillness.

This was none other than the Heavenly Court’s grand base in the Western Sector, High Heavens Palace.

Although it was a replica, it was a Tier-6 Spirit Palace. It not only radiated divine splendor, but its defensive capabilities were unparalleled.

The person who just spoke out was the one sitting on top of the four thrones, the Crimson Emperor.

He was one of the Five Emperors of the Heavenly Court, and a Tier-6 Overlord.

However, what had truly cemented his infamous reputation was the humiliating battle, where, despite being a mighty Tier-6 Overlord, he had failed to defeat a mere Peak Tier-5 Golden Ant.

Additionally, he even suffered severe injuries.

That battle had turned him into the biggest laughingstock of the Heavenly Court.

However, now was not the time to dwell on such matters, for the Heavenly Court itself stood on the brink of destruction.

“The Heavenfall Alliance…” muttering to himself, the Heavenly Venerate, Dang Mo’s expression turned utterly grim.

“How dare he!? How dare he!? That wretched Demon Tree dares to brand the Heavenly Court as mere ‘Demonic Force’ and call upon the various Forces to suppress us!?” His furious roar echoed as flames of fury burned within his eyes. [The Supreme Lord of the Demon Court is truly ruthless!]

*Haaaa…* A sigh escaped Crimson Emperor as he shook his head in regret.

“We were too late to act… We allowed that wretch to rise to power.”

“This isn’t just ‘rising to power’…” A wry chuckle escaped Azure Emperor, who seldom spoke, his tone filled with both awe and dread.

“That monster is no less terrifying than the greatest prodigy in the history of the Heavenly Court, the Human Immortal… and what’s worse…He was born in an era where not a single Tier-7 Hegemon has been born yet…”

As he spoke, even the speaker, Azure Emperor’s face turned grave as the weight of reality settled upon him.

[Someone like is simply unrivaled in this era. Perhaps only the mighty Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree of the Central Sector can stand against him…]

But in the next moment, as though recalling something, Azure Emperor glanced at the grim expressions around him and, without further hesitation, spoke bluntly, “Now that we’ve been exposed, the Demon Court’s Supreme Lord will never let us go. Blocking one’s Dao is akin to murdering their parents. It is the deepest enmity imaginable… And now, by forming the ‘Heavenfall Alliance,’ he has made it clear. He will not stop until the Heavenly Court is utterly annihilated, until our legacy is erased…”

Yet before Azure Emperor could finish, Dang Mo roared in fury, “How dare he!?”

He slapped the armrest thunderously and bellowed, “If he dares push us to the brink, then even if it means my death, even if my Soul is shattered, even if my Imperial Artifact is destroyed—I will unleash the Eternal Strike and obliterate him!”

While declaring this, his voice was filled with absolute resolve, and his expression colder than ice.

The Eternal Strike was the greatest attack in the arsenal of a damaged Imperial Artifact, and their last resort.

In any case, if the wielder died, it was nothing, another one could take his place.

However, if the Imperial Artifact got destroyed, that would be a catastrophe beyond measure. For it would mean that the Imperial Artifact had truly fallen, its existence completely erased from the face of this world.

At most, a few shattered fragments would drift across the vast Starry Sky.

This was a path of no return.

No Force would dare resort to such a measure unless they had no other choice.

Even back when the world besieged Yu Zi Yu, not a single powerhouse had risked their Imperial Artifact to launch an Eternal Strike.

It was not that they could not, but because they did not dare to.

Even if the strike could kill the Supreme Lord of the Demon Court, the price was too steep.

Once an Imperial Artifact got shattered, it was akin to the destruction of a Force’s foundation. Even powerful Forces like the Elemental Clan and Netherborns would begin to decline.

Without an Imperial Artifact to oversee them, they would inevitably fall to the bottom of the hierarchy.

After all, if the Angel Clan or the Titan Clan, wielding their own Imperial Artifacts, came to destroy them—who could stop them?

Thus, the idea of sacrificing an Imperial Artifact to launch an Eternal Strike was nothing more than a legend.

More importantly, to unleash the Eternal Strike, the Imperial Artifact’s True Spirit must agree to it.

Which True Spirit of an Imperial Artifact was not a supreme being of the cosmos? For them, recovery was only a matter of time. So why would they willingly destroy themselves?

As long as they survived, their legacy would endure. And if the legacy endured, so would the race.

Thus, even if an entire race faced extinction, these Imperial Artifact True Spirits would merely watch in silence.

And then, taking a seed of the remaining lineage, they would slumber in the depths of the stars.

When the next era began, they would resurface, rekindling the flames of their race.

It was for this reason that sacrificing an Imperial Artifact for an Eternal Strike was seen as impossible.

Imperial Artifacts, the Eternals wandering in the vast cosmos and through the ages, why would they willingly destroy themselves, and in doing so, cut off the future of their people? How could such a thing happen?

In the end, the so-called Eternal Strike from a damaged Imperial Artifact was nothing more than a bluff, a deterrent, nothing more.

It did not have any real weight!

More importantly, Dang Mo himself was uncertain whether such a strike could even kill the Supreme Lord of the Demon Court.

With the Eastern Emperor Bell protecting him, even if an Eternal Strike was unleashed, the chances of exterminating him were little to none.

Of course, if these Heavenly Court or the True Spirit of the Vajra Ring knew the true reason for the calamity befallen upon the Human Immortal, which was thanks to Yu Zi Yu’s relaying the information to the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu, then perhaps they really would be driven to desperation, unleashing an Eternal Strike in a final bid to erase Yu Zi Yu.

After all, the Human Immortal was the greatest foundation of the Heavenly Court. He was the founder of the Heavenly Court, and the creator of the Vajra Ring.

Should Yu Zi Yu were to face some great Tribulation, then Nine Tails, Bull Demon, and even his Dao-Protecting Artifact—Radiant Galaxy would also act in the similar way. They would stop at nothing to exact revenge.

And here lay an important truth, in order to save the Soul of the Human Immortal, the Heavenly Court’s most powerful Imperial Artifact, the Tai Chi Diagram, had shattered itself to unleash an Eternal Strike, resisting the Wrath of Heaven.

This was the true reason why the Tai Chi Diagram was now incomplete.

In other words, the Heavenly Court had already lost one Imperial Artifact to Yu Zi Yu.

If the current Heavenly Court learned of this truth, they would undoubtedly go mad.

Author’s Note:

This explains the reason for Tai Chi Diagram’s destruction, tying up a loose end.

The Eternal Strike is not something to be taken lightly—it is the final gamble, one that risks an entire race’s survival with no benefit whatsoever.

It would only be used if the hatred was boundless, where a faction no longer cared for their own race or legacy—only revenge.

And it requires the Imperial Artifact’s True Spirit to willingly participate.

This is why it exists as a mere deterrent, unless an Imperial Artifact itself faces inevitable destruction, forcing it into mutual annihilation, the Eternal Strike remains nothing but a legend.
