“Who am I?…Where am I?” In a daze, a thought made such a voice.

At this moment, if one followed this voice, they would certainly see a mysterious space shrouded in gray mist, with Green Mantis curled up in a corner.

He seemed afraid and trembling.

Slowly lifting his gaze, the Little Mantis was astonished to find that a hint of purple had inexplicably pervaded this grayish space.

That touch of purple was deep and profound, but it seemed like a crack in this grayish space.

And this crack was constantly widening.

*Screech…* Suddenly, a deep and unknown screech continuously started echoing from the crack.

It was filled with greed and excitement.

*Screech, screech…* Amidst increasingly loud and sharp screeches, a Purple Mantis, similar in appearance to Green Mantis, emerged from the crack, much to Green Mantis’ bewilderment. Its body still had drops of purple liquid, and saliva was constantly dripping from its mouth.

*Drip, Drip…* In the dead silence, the dripping sound was so clear that it made Green Mantis tense up.

However, at the sight of this figure that seemed to have walked out straight from a mirror, Green Mantis’ pupils contracted to the size of a needle in vigilance, because he could see unbridled greed and excitement in the depths of those purple eyes.

“Evolution, I want to evolve…” An extremely hoarse and increasingly anxious voice resounded as the Purple Mantis approached Green Mantis cowering in the corner, step by step.

…

Right at that very moment, a voice suddenly echoed in this grayish space, “If you don’t resist, it will inevitably lead to your doom.”

This voice was very familiar, so much so that Green Mantis was startled.

“Who is it? Who exactly is it?” However, mere moments later, the voice echoed again,  “If you don’t resist, it will inevitably lead to your doom.”

This time, this voice was as deafening as the very thunder, and shook the entire grayish space.

It was because of this voice that Green Mantis seemed to be awake and clarity returned to his eyes.

“I am a Mantis, and this voice belongs to Madam Aurora…” Murmuring to himself, everything finally became clear to Green Mantis.

However, after a moment, as if realizing something, he suddenly raised his gaze and stared firmly at the Purple Mantis not far away.

“I have to kill it. Once I do, I can truly take its place…” Reaffirming to himself in a serious voice, Green Mantis advanced instead of retreating, a cruel and icy arc tugging at the corner of his mouth.

He never feared battle. Even in this unknown place, he wouldn’t show the slightest fear. He was a creature born for battle, and had truly emerged from a mountain of corpses and sea of blood.

“I will devour you!” Speaking in a deep voice, as if stating a fact, Green Mantis, originally huddled in a corner, took a wide stance, and raised his scythe-like limbs high up.

—

Meanwhile, in the world outside…

“Thank you, Aurora.” In a rare expression of gratitude, Yu Zi Yu looked towards a girl not far away.

This girl carried a Spirit Flower, which embodied all the beauty in the world on her shoulders, and had a long flute strapped to her waist. She was the vessel of the Five-Color Spirit Flower walking in the mortal world, also the figure in-charge of the offerings to Misty Mountains in public.

Furthermore, this girl also happened to be proficient in music, and was particularly skilled in the most eerie art of killing by sound.

Paired with the terrifying psychic power of Aurora, she could bring everything to life with just a tune, and sink everything into silence with the end of tune.

It could be said that this girl, controlled by Aurora, was also a formidable figure hidden in Misty Mountains.

At least, when it came to large-scale attacks, few in the entire Misty Mountains could compare to her.

And at this moment, upon hearing Yu Zi Yu’s words of gratitude, Aurora, on the girl’s shoulder trembled slightly, as a smile bloomed on the girl’s lips, saying, “It’s nothing, awakening the spirit of Green Mantis from its slump isn’t a very difficult task for me.”

With that, Aurora changed the subject, with a hint of doubt in her voice, “But can this guy really devour the Void Worm and take its place?”

“Maybe yes, maybe no.” Without giving a specific answer, Yu Zi Yu chose to quietly observe.

At this moment, the purple liquid enveloping Green Mantis had gradually started to solidify, forming a strange cocoon-like object.

Faintly, Yu Zi Yu could feel an increasingly vigorous vitality emanating from the cocoon, as if it were nurturing something.

“It’s parasitising, thus beginning a new life…” Muttering to himself, Yu Zi Yu looked at the nearby purple cocoon, lost in thought.

[In that case, the Void Creatures would truly pose a huge threat to all beings. They have no fixed form, but are eager to evolve. If they truly appeared in this world, then the first thing they would do is devour all existing life forms of this world…]

This was enough for one to imagine the cruelty and horror of this race. Their existence, and even their continuation, were built upon the cold corpses of other races.

…

Time slowly passed, and in the blink of an eye, half an hour had elapsed.

Within this half hour, more and more powerful beings had gathered in a corner of Misty Mountains.

Apart from Qing Gang and others who were still in Steel World, most of the powerful Transcendents had arrived here.

All of this was because many Mutant Beasts in Misty Mountains had heard a vague voice.

*Bang, bang, bang…* It was the sound of a heartbeat, and each beat made many Mutant Beasts tense up. Especially for the weaker Mutant Beasts, this heartbeat was like a nightmare.

It was an inherent pressure. an indescribable aura.

In a trance, many Mutant Beasts returned to the moment when Little Tenth was born.

However, compared to the dominance of Little Tenth’s birth, the current aura was extremely ominous and oppressive.

Just at this moment…

*Crack…* Suddenly, a sound attracted the attention of the Mutant Beasts and even Yu Zi Yu.

Looking towards the sound, everyone saw the purple cocoon that had long been motionless cracking up.

With another crisp sound, a long and slender blade-like claw emerged from the crack in the curious gazes of the countless Mutant Beasts, slowly slicing downwards…

However, what left everyone surprised was the color of this scythe, rather than green, it happened to be purple in color.

The closer to the tip, the deeper the purple hue was. The crowd even saw a gloomy purple glow flickering at the end of the tip.

That wasn’t pure Spiritual Energy, but a mysterious force.

However, what left everyone surprised was the fact that the purple cocoon was as fragile as paper in the face of this force.
