The earth shook, and the clouds of mist rolled back as it surged forward.

At a glance, the entire spectacle gave the impression of towering waves that reached the sky, surging towards the horizon.

This spectacular sight not only sent chills down the Mutant Beasts’ spines, but even the experienced and knowledgeable bearded middle-aged man was shaken down the core.

“This is big, this is really big! The first thing Misty Mountains chose to do after reemerging is expansion!” Gasping in shock, the bearded middle-aged took his remaining few pale young men and ran for it without a moment of hesitation.

While the mist was not surging towards them, given the current trend, it was only a matter of time before it spread to their location.

Looking at the vast and towering waves of mist, the middle-aged man didn’t think that his strength could resist it.

No, not just him, he was sure that even the famous cities of China might not be able to stop its advance.

Because this was Misty Mountains. It might have disappeared in the past, but it was known as the First Forbidden Zone.

…

Meanwhile, in China’s capital, the bell of the highest conference room rang once again.

*Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…*

Accompanied by swooshing streaks, 40% of the seats in the conference room were already occupied.

As for the remaining 60%, with the numerous influential cities in China, the Mayors and other influential figures occupying the highest government positions might not have time to attend such impromptu meetings.

It should be noted that after three years, the individuals holding these positions were replaced by newcomers.

Compared to before, most of the high-ranking members were Tier-2 Superhumans, and even a few were even Tier-3 Superhumans.

The reason for this was that strength had become increasingly important with the passage of time.

At present, ‘Might is right,’ this invisible ideology was rooted in the heart of every single authoritative figure in the Chinese government.

Without absolute strength, one could not bear the so-called responsibilities.

As for the old guards who held high positions, most of them willingly stepped down, allowing the talented successors of their families to take over.

As for those few who clung to power, they had long been crushed by the current tides.

At this moment, slowly raising his gaze and glancing over the figures already in their seats, the President of China sitting at the top, without any small-talk, delivered a terrifying piece of news, “Misty Mountains has returned.”

Four simple words but it caused very air to freeze. Everyone’s expressions slightly changed, and some even had their pupils shrink to the size of needles.

“How is that possible?” Suddenly, a voice broke the dead silence.

Looking towards the source of the sound, it came from a young man with a rugged face and shoulder-length black hair. At this moment, he appeared to be in disbelief.

He was Berserk Warrior, one of the first generation’s top ten prodigies of China three years ago. Currently, he was stationed at Beijing, serving as the capital’s guardian, his strength alone placed him among the upper echelons of China.

“What’s impossible?” With a sigh, the middle-aged President sitting at the head position also felt helpless.

“The return of Misty Mountains is and has always been inevitable. It is just… I didn’t expect it to happen at this critical moment.” Speaking of this, the middle-aged President glanced at the distant horizon.

In that direction was the White Dragon’s Lair.

Compared to the return of Misty Mountains, he was more worried that the recent expedition to the White Dragon’s Lair would be affected.

If they could successfully obtain the blood of a True Dragon, he would soon no longer have to fear Misty Mountains.

But for now…it was impossible.

The two words ‘Misty Mountains’ were like a heavy mountain pressing on their chest, making the entire nation feel suffocated. As a knowledgeable and experienced man, he had some understanding of the terrible nature of Misty Mountains.

He believed that even in the previous era, the Tree Monster would have been called a ‘monster.’

Meanwhile, hearing this news, several younger ones in attendance looked at each other.

After a moment, a sharp-tongued among these young men suddenly stood up and spoke aloud, “Things are different from before now. In these three years, our country has made tremendous progress, and given birth to many powerful Superhumans. Let alone Misty Mountains that is out of touch with the times, even other Forbidden Zones have to be wary of us.”

The middle-aged President just listened quietly to this young man, and did not voice any opinion.

He was Lightning Monkey, one of the ten second generation prodigies of China. Currently, he was at Fourth Order Tier-2, and because of his Innate Talent, even those of Tier-3 could not underestimate his combat strength .

[He has the right to be arrogant. Unfortunately, he has no idea what Misty Mountains truly means.] With a wry smile, an old general was about to stand up, but right at this moment, as if sensing something, the faces of many high-ranking figures changed.

It was because, at this moment, they discovered that a figure had intruded the highest conference room in the nation at some point.

The figure was as slender as a Willow Branch, exuding an air of delicate fragility; it seemed as though even the gentlest breeze could sway her. Her long, black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, reaching the length of her waist. She was adorned in a slightly translucent white robe, its fabric fluttering in harmony with her silky locks, casting an indescribable ethereal aura around her.

“Who are you?” The Berserk Warrior asked with a hint of disbelief, with a drastic change in his expression.

And not just him, but the other older figures, including the President sitting in the center seat, had their pupils shrunk the moment they laid eyes on this young girl. Because, this young girl was none other than one of the ten great prodigies of China three years ago, the most mysterious Owl.

However, three years ago, she had disappeared without a trace while luring away the Sea Creatures.

But now, she was standing right before them, appearing out of thin air, much to everyone’s disbelief and shock.

Everyone had only one question boggling them: [How!?]

At that moment, upon hearing the voice of the Berserk Warrior, the girl standing quietly in the corner raised her eyebrows. She glanced around, a hint of mischief appearing on her face as she recognized some familiar faces in the crowd..

But before anyone else could say anything, Lin Zi Yu, Owl, was the first to break the silence, “In the name of the Divine Tree, I would like for everyone to settle down.”

Her faint voice, as usual, carried an indescribable etherealness, yet, her sentence caused the entire office to turn pale.

“You… you’ve actually allied with Misty Mountains?” Seemingly unable to believe it, the Berserk Warrior clenched his fists tightly, bulging veins criss-crossing his hand. Faintly, Spiritual Energy started to gather around his fists.

“Allied?” This question caused her to slightly squint her eyes, evoking the memories of the dark days she had endured over the past three years.

Day after day of waiting, she was only met with disappointment.

The so-called rescue never came.

What was more terrifying was the Abyssal Prison, where she was imprisoned. Located in the deepest part of Misty Mountains, it was devoid of any sunlight, and the air inside was incredibly stuffy.

Every day was torturous and filled with despair. Many times, she even contemplated committing suicide.

But… in the end, she gave in, because a figure had appeared by her side at some point.

And by the time she realized the identity of that figure, it was too late.

The Tree Monster…or rather the Divine Tree.

An existence that shook the continent had taken on a Human Form and accompanied her patiently, ultimately making her submit.

At that time, did she still have the right to refuse?

She was just a young woman in dire straits, and someone had extended a hand to her.

As long as she grasped that hand, she could escape the cage and return beneath the blue sky and white clouds.

She had no other choice, or rather, that was her only choice.

After hesitating for several days, she voluntarily became an Apostle of the Divine Tree.

And now, as if responding to the girl’s inner thoughts, a faint shimmer appeared at her brow, faintly revealing a blood-red pattern.

The Apostle’s mark, belonging exclusively to Apostles, could communicate with the Divine Tree to some extent.

And she, Lin Zi Yi, after the First Apostle—the Holy Nun of Buddhism, Aisha, became the Second Apostle of the Divine Tree.

Moreover, she had voluntarily become an Apostle. To some extent, the Apostle’s mark did not affect her sanity.

Until now, she remained the same as before.  It was just that, compared to before, she had an indescribable connection with the Divine Tree.
