“This is a Void Worm, a strange creature I stumbled upon while exploring space. It’s greedy and cruel, and everything it does is for the sake of evolution.”

Introducing calmly, Yu Zi Yu cast a long and deep glance at the Void Worm that was crazily gnawing at his right hand, and continued, “The speed at which this creature evolves is quite terrifying.”

Hearing this, Green Mantis looked somewhat astonished.

At first, the Void Worm was extremely weak, but then its aura started skyrocketing at a speed visible to the naked eye. Its body was constantly changing, seemingly adjusting its form.

“Master… are you suggesting…” Skeptical, Green Mantis asked to confirm.

“Let it devour you, completely consume you. By then, a terrifying creature will appear in this world. What you need to do is to defeat its consciousness before losing consciousness yourself, and then devour its consciousness… thus replacing it. Becoming the owner of its body.” Answering in a cold and emotionless voice, Yu Zi Yu’s mouth curved up slightly.

This was the clear path he had pointed out to Green Mantis.

It was indeed a clear path.

If successful, Green Mantis would not be constrained by his talent. However, what was somewhat regrettable was that the likelihood of success was very low, so low that Yu Zi Yu was unwilling to mention the exact number.

However, as far as Yu Zi Yu was concerned, it was just a small experiment.

If successful, it would be great. And if failed, Yu Zi Yu could obtain more data about these ‘unknown creatures.’

However, all misfortune would fall on Green Mantis. This was the so-called price. After all, there was no such thing as a free lunch in this world. If one desired strength, they must be prepared to pay the price for it.

Yu Zi Yu looked at Green Mantis with great interest.

After a moment, seeing the resolute expression on Green Mantis’s face, Yu Zi Yu reminded timely, “You must think it through. If you fail, you will truly die.”

“Die…” With a bitter smile, Green Mantis raised his head and asked self-deprecatingly, “Master, do I have any other choice?”

“A choice, huh!?” A sigh escaped Yu Zi Yu’s lips as he shook his head in resignation.

Indeed, Green Mantis had no other choice.

However, this was also the path that Yu Zi Yu thought was most suitable for Green Mantis.

Green Mantis was too obsessed. Yu Zi Yu could see unwillingness deep in his eyes. An unwillingness that didn’t come about in just a day or two. It was the accumulation of countless days and nights, and happened to be a deep-seated emotion.

He was unwilling, absolutely unwilling. Even after tirelessly toiling so hard, he was still stuck at Tier-2. This almost crazy ‘unwillingness’ had turned into a deep-seated obsession, consuming Green Mantis entirely.

If even at his current state, he couldn’t truly devour the Void Worm, then there were few to no Mutant Beasts capable of devouring such a terrifying creature that only knew evolution.

After a moment, with a flick of his right hand, Yu Zi Yu threw the Void Worm in his hand towards Green Mantis.

Green Mantis remained completely still, he didn’t flinch or resist.

He lay completely still on the ground like a statue.

Just as the Void Worm came in contact with Green Mantis, as if sensing something…

*Screech, screech…* It suddenly started making strange and eerie sounds, unlike anything in this world, but with a touch of surprise.

After a moment, to Yu Zi Yu’s astonishment, the body of the Void Worm began to melt like water.

In no time, it dissolved into a mass of purple liquid, completely enveloping Green Mantis.

At the same time, an extremely suppressed but painful voice filled the forest. It was clear Green Mantis was under immense pain.

His body started convulsing. Every minute, every second, felt like ants gnawing at his body.

It was a pain that penetrated even the bone marrow.

*Screech…* Even the resilient Green Mantis couldn’t help but scream, an ear-piercing sharp screech filled with unwillingness and an unparalleled penetrating power that sent ripples through the air.

In an instant, the air around the Green Mantis trembled with countless ripples visible to the naked eye.

*Rooaar, Rooaar…*

*Squak, squak…*

One roar after another followed as countless Mutant Beasts were startled by this roar that didn’t belong to this world.

“Master…” Calling out to Yu Zi Yu, a massive shadow rushed over from afar.

“Ssssh…” Putting his hands to this shadow’s mouth, Yu Zi Yu stopped Sarcosuchus from speaking.

After a moment, he pointed to the grassy ground where a purple sphere had formed, and stated in a whispering voice, “Let’s wait together.”

“Alright,” nodding, Sarcosuchus readily agreed, and didn’t ask further.

However, at this moment, if someone were to pay attention to Sarcosuchus, they would surely believe this prehistoric Giant Crocodile of the early Cretaceous Era to be a statue, a giant living and breathing statue because his yellow hide was as hard as a granite.

Coupled with his pair of golden vertical pupils, radiating a ferocious aura, he looked extremely dangerous and awe-inspiring.

This was Sarcosuchus. After awakening the royal bloodline of Rock Dragons, he became even more terrifying and inconspicuous.

Even when emerging from the darkness, he moved without making a sound.

…

Shortly after Sarcosuchus appeared, at Yu Zi Yu’s feet, a blood-red vine suddenly emerged from the ground before slowly entwining around Yu Zi Yu’s Humanoid Body.

The next moment, a very charming voice sounded in Yu Zi Yu’s ears, “Master…”

As a soft and gentle voice called out, a fragrant breath reminiscent of orchids blew in Yu Zi Yu’s ears, accompanied by a pair of arms resembling jade, draping over his shoulders.

But right then, Yu Zi Yu’s figure untwined into countless rootlets.

By the time Thorns realized what was happening, countless roots had already moved away from her, weaving back in the distance.

“Hmph…” With a hint of dissatisfaction, Thorns pouted. “Master, you really are heartless.”

”…” All she received was silence, absolute silence. The air seemed to be frozen.

Yu Zi Yu had no idea how to respond.

After all, when Thorns entwined him, he felt a strange feeling rising in his heart. It was somewhat strange, but Yu Zi Yu was not unfamiliar with this feeling.

However, to be honest, Yu Zi Yu never expected that he would have such feelings after becoming a Tree.

[Could it be…] Yu Zi Yu doubtfully glanced at the girl not far away.

Her tall and proud figure with long and silky blood-red hair was more striking than before. It would be more apt to call her Scarlet Beauty.

Especially, the fragrance emanating from her was not the smell of blood but rather a charming scent.

[A natural femme fatale…] Murmuring in his heart, Yu Zi Yu actively averted his gaze.

However, he didn’t have the time to worry about such matters. Compared to this, Yu Zi Yu was more concerned about Green Mantis, who was not far away, already completely swallowed up.
