Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 747: Meeting The Old Man

Huangfu Shou decided to take Huangfu Ziyuan, Ling Baozi, and several of his aides to the Star Tower. He hoped that with their large numbers, they could find a cure for his two daughters sooner. Unfortunately, Huangfu Lian and Huangfu Xiaofan had recently failed to challenge the tower, and they couldnʼt enter it for a few years, so he didnʼt bring them along.

Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei were no different from their two brothers, and they were unable to enter the tower after their previous failure. Despite this, Huangfu Shou took them there, and he also brought several special imperial physicians to treat them outside the tower.

Since both the emperor and the empress were absent, Huangfu Lian took over leadership of their kingdom, especially since he was the crown prince of the Huangfu Kingdom.

Huangfu Fanbo used an artifact to protect the Huangfu Royal Capital so no one could attack in their absence. He was disappointed after he learned that Helian Yueyi ordered Huangfu Shouʼs other concubines to leave the palace, yet he said nothing.

Helian Yueyi was shivering from Huangfu Fanboʼs cruel gaze, giving her ominous feelings. She really didnʼt want to be around the old man, but she wanted her two daughters to get better quickly, so she decided to join them. ʼTch! This old man seems to have never touched a woman before! Sigh! I hope we can find the source and cure for my two daughtersʼ illnesses so they can return to normal again.ʼ

After they left, Zhang Fei [4] immediately went to see Huangfu Lian. ”I will do something about them, and they will not be coming back here anytime soon. I want you to build your power since youʼll be taking over their duties. No matter what, I want you to control your fatherʼs trusted people, and I will send someone to help you later.”

”Yes, Master.” After Zhang Fei [4] disappeared, Huangfu Lian sat down weakly in his chair. ʼDoes he think itʼs easy to control my fatherʼs trusted people? Those old folks are completely loyal to him, and they will never side with me as long as he is alive.ʼ

In a few minutes, Zhang Fei [4] had already arrived at the Star Tower. Mei suddenly spoke. [Master, I think this is a good opportunity to get rid of Li Tiannan and Huangfu Fanbo, but you canʼt possibly do it by yourself, and I think you can ask the old man for help to get rid of them.]

ʼI did think that, Mei. However, Iʼm not sure the old man will be willing to help me, but I will try first.ʼ After he lit up ten crystals, Zhang Fei [4] immediately entered the Star Tower. ”Old man, I know you can hear me. I need a little help from you, so I hope you are willing to see me.”

The old man immediately appeared in front of Zhang Fei [4]. ”Even though I already know your talent, your progress still amazes me, kid. Your cultivation has already been broken through twice in two and a half months, and your body cultivation has already reached the second stage; even your soul power has also reached the earthly soul level.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [4] laughed. ”Old man, my cultivation wouldnʼt have progressed this fast without my wives and partners, and one of them helped me temper my body. As for my soul power, I was lucky to meet a master in the soul cultivation path, and he is the best soul cultivator in the upper realms.”

”I donʼt know much about upper realm cultivators, but the best is mere dust in my realm, and his abilities are useless.” Zhang Fei [4]ʼs lips twitched at the old manʼs words. Even cultivators in the lower realms are not comparable to cultivators in the upper realms, so it is natural that cultivators of Hun Diʼs level are not comparable to cultivators in the realms beyond the upper realms. ”What kind of help do you want from me? Do you want to do something about those demons?”

Zhang Fei [4] was slightly taken aback upon recalling Ximen Gongfu and the others. ”Those demons havenʼt failed yet, eh? I thought you would make all the challenges difficult for them, so I thought they would fail too early.”

”Theyʼre pretty resilient and tough, and I didnʼt make the challenges difficult for them, so theyʼre on the third floor now.” The old man then asked. ”Do you want me to fail them?”

”I would prefer if they stayed in this tower for a long time so I could take over their demon kingdoms.” Zhang Fei [4] then told the old man about the black liquid that injured Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei, and he also told him about Huangfu Fanbo. ”Do you have a way to remove the black liquid from their bodies? Anyway, I donʼt want to do anything to the others, and some of them are my slaves. However, I hope you can help me lock up that lecherous old man in this tower as long as possible, especially since his presence will disrupt my plans.”

”All right, I will lock him in this tower.” The old man then thought for a moment. ”I have no way to remove the black liquid from the two girlsʼ bodies, but I know someone who can do it, and I will send my disciple to him to ask for the antidote. Kid, did you tell anyone about my home realm? I heard that there were several groups from the upper realms going to the Sun Tower, and they were talking about you.”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei [4] immediately admitted it. ”I did tell some people, but I didnʼt tell them too much detail. Feng Yao also told her parents about this tower, and they led their group to the Sun Tower. Did that give you any trouble?”

”Not really.” The old man shook his head in response. ”I heard about them from my two old friends at the Sun Tower, and they didnʼt report to our higher-ups, so itʼs not a big deal. When are you going to challenge the second floor?”

”In four and a half months.” Zhang Fei [4]ʼs answer surprised the old man, as he thought that he would need at least a year. ”All my wives and some partners have already reached the Earth Realm, and I am confident of reaching the Heaven Realm by then, so I will bring them all to this tower to try the challenges.”

The old man nodded in understanding. ”In that case, I will wait for you to return to this tower in four and a half months, so I hope you will not disappoint me.”

”Donʼt worry, Old Man. I wonʼt let you down, and I will pass all the challenges on the second floor by then.” The old man disappeared immediately after that, and Zhang Fei [4] left the tower. However, he did not leave there immediately and waited for Huangfu Shouʼs group to arrive.

.

.

Above the tower, Hua Meiʼer immediately questioned the old man. ”Why did you help that kid to that extent, Master? I know his talent is extraordinary, but he is still too weak now, and he is not necessarily worthy of setting foot in our realm.”

”Can you break through once a month?” Hua Meiʼer immediately shut her mouth after the old man asked that. ”The quality and quantity of Qi in our realm is a hundred times better than in his realm, but you needed several months to break through when your cultivation was still in the Earth Realm back then. Not to mention, he is also a body cultivator and soul cultivator. Are you able to walk all three paths at the same time, like him?”

”Hehe.” Helian Xunʼer chuckled at seeing Hua Meiʼer cornered, but she cornered her too. ”Meiʼer, that kid is a cultivator from the middle realms, but he managed to learn the immortal grade Yin-Yang Fire Art in just ten hours, so his talent is much better than yours. If you were in his shoes, Iʼm sure you wouldnʼt succeed in learning it, and your hair would probably fall out trying to learn it.”

”Ugh! Why are you mocking me, Sister Xunʼer?” Hua Meiʼer protested.

Helian Xunʼer shrugged. ”Iʼm just telling the truth.”

”All right, you two donʼt need to make a fuss.” The old man then looked at another disciple. ”Sima Yun, I want you to return to our realm and find Ye Yongshan and ask for the antidote to his black liquid, or those two little girls will die.”

”Yes, Master.”

After Sima Yun disappeared, the old man spoke to Helian Xunʼer. ”Xunʼer, I want you to take care of the man named Huangfu Fanbo, and you can lock him up in that area.”

”Yes, Master.” Helian Xunʼer replied with a nod. ”Four and a half months is not a long time, and I want to see that kidʼs progress by then.”

The old man gave a light nod. ”Since he is so confident in himself, I will look forward to his progress, and I hope he is truly capable of completing the challenges on the second floor.”

Unlike them, Hua Meiʼer seemed to be thinking about something, and the evil smile on her face clearly showed that she was thinking about something bad. ʼHehehe! If that kid comes here again, I will make him fail the challenges on the second floor, and he will not be able to come here again for a few years.ʼ

.

.

.

Using Huangfu Fanboʼs flying artifact, Huangfu Shouʼs group didnʼt need too long to arrive at the Star Tower. The old man immediately led them down to enter the tower area, but the barrier stopped him. ”Who would foolishly set up a formation in such a useless place?”

”Senior—” Before Huangfu Shou could reply, Huangfu Fanbo had already punched the barrier with enormous force.

*Bam*

”Gah!” Instantly, the barrier struck back at Huangfu Fanbo with even greater force, which caused him to be thrown quite far back and spurt out a mouthful of blood. The old man stuck one foot back to stop himself before cursing. ”Fuck! How could there be such a strong barrier in the middle realms?”

Huangfu Shou sighed in his heart, especially since Huangfu Fanbo was too careless. On the other hand, Helian Yueyi cursed in his heart, as he expected the old man to be injured because of the counterattack just now, but he turned out to be fine and only suffered minor injuries.

Zhang Fei [4], who was still hiding in the invisible state, burst into laughter upon witnessing Huangfu Fanboʼs ridiculous action. ʼWhat a foolish and arrogant old man! Even the Nameless One will fail to breach the barrier!ʼ

”Senior, this tower mysteriously appeared in this realm in the past, and no one knows its origin; even the Huangfu Ancestors have never heard of this tower.” Huangfu Fanbo turned to Li Tiannan, who immediately explained to him about the Star Tower. ”In fact, I challenged this tower once, but I underestimated the challenges inside, and I couldnʼt get past the first floor.”

Huangfu Fanbo nodded and approached the barrier again, but he no longer attacked it and just touched it. ”The counterattack just now was equivalent to an attack from a cultivator at the high-level seven divine realms. If I hadnʼt worn my protective artifact, I would have suffered quite a heavy injury from it.”

”This tower is too mysterious, so you should not act rashly, or youʼll be injured if you get hit by a stronger counterattack than just now.” Li Tiannan then turned to Huangfu Shou, who immediately took out his token to open the barrier. ”Letʼs go in.”

Soon, they arrived in front of the stone obelisk, and Li Tiannan led them to light those crystals on it.

Huangfu Fanbo acted arrogantly once again by punching it with full force, but the result was not as he had expected, especially since it did not crack even a little, let alone shatter. ”Who actually created this tower? Where did this damn tower come from? The barrier is incredibly strong, and so is this stone.”

”No one knows.” Li Tiannan then turned to Huangfu Shou. ”Since your two daughters have failed before, they have to stay outside and let the palace physicians take care of them while we look for the antidote in the tower.”

”Yes, Senior.”

After Huangfu Shou instructed the palace physicians, Li Tiannan immediately led them into the Star Tower, but a portal sucked them straight in, which took them directly into the maze challenge.

.

.

.

As Zhang Fei [4] wished, the old man who controlled the Star Tower deliberately separated Huangfu Fanbo from their entourage, causing him to frown. ”Tch! This shitty tower separated me from them, so I couldnʼt get close to Huangfu Shouʼs wife and concubine.”

However, Huangfu Fanboʼs eyes suddenly lit up, especially when he saw Helian Xunʼer appear in the distance with a seductive smile on her face. She stretched her hand forward, signaling the old man to follow her.

Seeing Helian Xunʼerʼs seductive appearance, Huangfu Fanbo immediately followed her without thinking twice, making him unable to realize that it was a trap.

Over a period of time, Helian Xunʼer led the old man to areas filled with strange creatures, including some chimera beasts. Despite these obstacles, Huangfu Fanbo was able to overcome them effortlessly with his high cultivation level.

Huangfu Fanbo slowly began to notice the strangeness of Helian Xunʼerʼs actions, making him wonder about her identity. Despite this, his lust still controlled his mind, and he was eager to devour her, so he continued to follow her.

ʼThis idiot! He only thinks of using his dick!ʼ Helian Xunʼer then accelerated her movements. A while later, she arrived at a dead-end room and waited for Huangfu Fanbo to arrive.

After a few minutes, Huangfu Fanbo arrived at the room, and he smiled in satisfaction because there was no way out there. He immediately entered it as he continued to stare at Helian Xunʼer with a lustful gaze, but he stepped on a trap that right away transported him to another area.

”What a fool! Does he think a mortal like him is worthy of me? Even men in my realm are not worthy of me, let alone such an idiot like him.” Helian Xunʼer suddenly thought of Zhang Fei [4] and smiled to herself. ”If that kid approached me, I definitely wouldnʼt reject him. Unfortunately, he is still too weak right now, and I might have to wait a few hundred years for him to be able to go to my home realm.”

After that, Helian Xunʼer disappeared from that place and returned to her masterʼs side, who was watching Huangfu Shou and the othersʼ movements through the screen in front of them.

.

.

.

”Fuck! That woman deliberately toyed with me, and she trapped me in this damn hot place!” Huangfu Fanbo then looked around, but he only saw a vast expanse of wilderness. ”Damn it! How am I supposed to get out of this place? Do I have to look for something in this place to be able to leave?”

Just as Huangfu Fanbo was contemplating his next move, he was suddenly surrounded by two giant sand beasts, whose cultivation was several levels higher than his own.

Realizing the unfavorable situation, Huangfu Fanbo immediately flew at high speed to get away from the two giant sand beasts, but the two swiftly chased them, which was the beginning of the old manʼs suffering.

.

.

After the old man informed him about Huangfu Fanbo, Zhang Fei [4] immediately left the Star Tower, but he did not return to the training space. Instead, he summoned Orith, Ilsath, and Zilvora out of there before taking them to the Netherworld Realm.

Zhang Fei [4] did not bring the three female demons to Lust City, but he brought them to the Dead Forest, especially since Shang Chongyun and the other three would arrive in that realm soon.

The three female demons shivered as soon as they arrived in front of the guardian beast that protected the portal to the Azure Sky Realm. ”Why are the three of you so afraid of that beast? You are no longer ordinary demons but demon cultivators. Moreover, Iʼm here with you guys, so you donʼt need to be afraid of it. I will tame the demon beast, and it will help Morgana and the others to protect this realm.”
