Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 541: Chao Yuanfeng

As soon as they entered the Xian Imperial Sect, Zhang Fei smelled a familiar scent, so he immediately used the nature awareness ability he got after Zefyr made a contract with him. Countless Qi threads appeared before his eyes in that instant, but he focused his attention on the only dark Qi thread among the others.

Zhang Fei then grabbed it and tracked down its owner, discovering it was a male demon. ʼAs expected, there is a demon in this sect, yet no one is aware of his identity.ʼ

”What happened to you? Are you under pressure because of the many strong cultivators in the sect?” Xian Xianqin inquired after observing Zhang Feiʼs facial expression.

ʼHmm? Iʼd better not reveal the manʼs identity for now, especially since I donʼt know whether he is a good or evil demon. Furthermore, revealing his identity abruptly could potentially raise suspicions towards me.ʼ Zhang Fei shook his head at Xian Xianqin directly. ”Even though the cultivators in the Sky Jade Realm had not yet reached the seven divine realms, they were already much stronger than me when I first arrived there. I never felt pressured by their presence, so I am also not the least bit pressured by the people in this sect. Who is your master? Is that person as strong as your parents?”

”My master is Chao Yuanfeng, and his cultivation is one minor level below my parents at the 4-Moon Divine Expansion Realm. However, not only is he one of the best sword cultivators in this realm, but he is also a soul cultivator, just like you. Zhang Fei turned to Xian Xianqin in surprise. ”I donʼt know about his soul cultivation level, but my father said he is the best soul cultivator in this realm.”

Zhang Fei nodded slightly in response. ʼA soul cultivator, huh? He might be the best in this realm, but he couldnʼt possibly surpass Qiao Liangren or Shang Yingyue, let alone the Soul Emperor, Huan Di.ʼ

”Hey, Princess!” They immediately turned to the source of the voice, and they saw a woman hurriedly running towards them. She arrived before them moments later, but the sight of Zhang Fei startled her, prompting her to pull Xiao Xianqin away from him. ʼWho is that man? Is he your lover? Do you like a young leaf? Look at him; heʼs still 20 years old, so youʼre too old for him.ʼ

With his keen sense of hearing, Zhang Fei could naturally hear the womanʼs words, causing him to smile in amusement. ʼThis woman! Sheʼs too outspoken!ʼ

Mei immediately informed Zhang Fei of the womanʼs data. Her name was Yuan Luo, and she was over 100 years old. Her cultivation reached the quasi-divine realm, just like Xian Xianqin.

Xian Xianqin naturally noticed Zhang Feiʼs smile, and Yuan Luoʼs questions embarrassed her to the point of turning her face red and black with anger.

”Ouch... Ouch...” Yuan Luo screamed in pain as soon as Xiao Xianqin pinched her right ear. ”Princess! Let go of my ear, or it will stretch down.”

”If you dare talk nonsense again, I will pull your ears as long as possible until your appearance becomes similar to those long-eared monkey beasts.” Yuan Luo repeatedly closed her mouth and nodded, prompting Xian Xianqin to release her ear and inquire immediately. ”Why are you looking for me?”

Yuan Luo rubbed her right ear with one hand and pointed at Zhang Fei with the other. ”Our Master sensed his arrival in our sect, so he asked me to meet you two, and he asked you to bring him to meet him directly.”

Xiao Xianqin let out a soft sigh and turned to Zhang Fei. ”At first, I want to show you some areas of this sect, but my master seems impatient to meet you, so we should go meet him right now.”

”Sure.” Zhang Fei immediately followed behind the two women, who were whispering about him. His eyes paid attention to the male demonʼs movements on his map, and he saw the man moving toward their destination. ʼHmm? That guy seems to be in the same group as Xianqin, but his master is a soul cultivator, so he should have known that he was a demon, yet he let him stay among them.ʼ

After some time, they reached a somewhat secluded section of the sect. A fish pond and bamboo forest surrounded a simple house, and Zhang Fei could see that there were ten people inside, both male and female disciples.

Zhang Fei then glanced at the male demon, who had also just arrived at the location. From the systemʼs scan, he learned that his name was Ximen Chuixue, and his cultivation was at the 1-Moon Divine Transcend. ʼHe is stronger than Xianqin and Xianwu.ʼ

Ximen Chuixue noticed Zhang Feiʼs glance, but Yuan Luo suddenly ran to his side and hugged his arm. ”I thought you wouldnʼt be back today, but youʼre here now, Brother Chui Xue.”

ʼChui Xue? He disguised himself using that name, huh?ʼ Zhang Fei inwardly muttered and used his demon eyes to examine Ximen Chuixueʼs soul, but the result was beyond his expectations. ʼThis guyʼs soul is similar to Angelaʼs; I canʼt find anything negative about him.ʼ

”Haha.” Ximen Chuixue laughed and hugged Yuan Luoʼs waist. ”Iʼve been away for too long, and Iʼve missed you. Moreover, our master also sent me a voice transmission, and he wanted to send us to the Star Tower soon, so I rushed back here.”

Yuan Luo then pointed at Zhang Fei. ”His name is Zhang Fei, and he is Princess Xianqinʼs future lover.”

”Yuan Luo!”

Hearing Xian Xianqinʼs thunderous shout, Yuan Luo immediately hid behind Ximen Chuixue. ”Brother, you have to protect me from the angry princess! I told the truth, but she kept scolding me!”

”Shut up!” Once again, Xian Xianqin shouted angrily. ”Otherwise, Iʼll ask my uncle to punish you, and you canʼt go to the tower with us!”

Xian Xianqin was infuriated when Yuan Luo stuck out her tongue at her, but Ximen Chuixue immediately spoke to her. ”Princess Xianqin, you two have been friends for a long time, so you already know Luoʼerʼs character, and she just loves to tease you.”

Hearing the commotion outside, the disciples inside hurriedly came out to check their situation, but they immediately shook their heads when they saw the behavior of the two women. Theyʼve been in the same group for decades, so they know their characters well. Despite their frequent arguments and quarrels, they never viewed each other as enemies, and their relationship was actually quite close.

However, Zhang Feiʼs presence diverted their attention, confusing their group. After all, he was still only 20 years old, and his cultivation was only at 1-Star Earth Realm, so he shouldnʼt have been allowed to join their sect.

Xian Xianwu immediately explained to them. ”Brothers and sisters, his name is Zhang Fei, and our master invited him here on purpose. Although he is much younger than us, and his cultivation is far below ours, you should not underestimate him because he is much stronger than he looks from the outside.”

*Swoosh*

After Xian Xianwu said that, a male disciple suddenly moved as fast as lightning toward Zhang Fei to catch him, but his hand went through his illusion. Instantly, the other disciples fell into a daze in their spots because the male discipleʼs cultivation was at the 1-Moon Divine Transcend, yet he was able to avoid him, and they could not even see his movements.

Ximen Chuixue, Yun Luo, and the other disciples then searched for Zhang Fei in the surrounding area, but they still couldnʼt find him. Meanwhile, Xian Xianwu and Xian Xianqin smiled in amusement at their reactions, especially since they already knew that they couldnʼt underestimate Zhang Feiʼs speed.

Seconds later, they looked behind Xian Xianqin because Zhang Fei had appeared there, but their expressions still showed that they had not yet recovered from their shock.

Xian Xianqin looked back immediately, but Zhang Fei suddenly hugged her waist in front of them, making her face bright red with embarrassment. ”Senior Brothers and Senior Sisters, please forgive me; I didnʼt mean to show off in front of you.”

ʼHey! Let me go! Otherwise, Iʼll force you!ʼ Xian Xianqin sent a voice transmission to Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei laughed in his heart and released his embrace from Xian Xianqinʼs waist, making her feel relieved. On the other hand, Xian Xianwu cast a suspicious glance at him, suspecting that he was interested in his sister. ”Do you all believe me now? Even if we all work together to capture her, we will never succeed.”

All of them nodded in agreement to Xian Xianwu, but Yuan Luo suddenly shouted. ”Hey, Princess! He is not an ordinary young cultivator, so you should accept him as your lover, or else other women will snatch him away from you.”

”He already has several wives, so I will never fall in love with him.” Xian Xianqin shouted in frustration. ”Moreover, all of his wives are much prettier than all of us, so he wonʼt even glance at us.”

”Huh?” Xian Xianqinʼs revelation left Yuan Luo and the other female disciples dumbfounded, especially since Zhang Fei was still too young in their eyes.

Zhang Fei scratched his head. ”Princess Xianqin is right. I have several wives, and we are just small people with no status in this kingdom. Thatʼs why you can stop teasing her, especially since we are not meant to be together, Senior Sister Yuan.”

Zhang Feiʼs last sentence caused Xian Xianqin to feel guilty, as she didnʼt mean it that way. She wanted to refute that, but she immediately swallowed her words back.

Xian Xianwu could only sigh in his heart, but he chose not to comment on it, believing that his sister could solve the problem herself.

”You guys should go in now, and you can join us, Zhang Fei.”

Hearing that, they all rushed into the house, where their master, Chao Yuanfeng, was sitting cross-legged in the middle. They immediately sat down and surrounded him, with the exception of Zhang Fei, who was asked to sit in front of him. ”You are truly not ordinary. Despite being only 20 years old, your cultivation has already reached the 1-Star Earth Realm, and your soul power has already reached the half-perfection stage of the soul core level. I can also see that you have already forged your body to be as strong as this, leading me to believe that you are also a body cultivator. Even though it is too thin, I can sense the sword qi in your body, so you have trained in the sword path before.”

Ximen Chuixue and the others once again looked at Zhang Fei in shock, especially since pursuing a path of cultivation was already very difficult for them. Not many people can walk two paths of cultivation at once, let alone walk four.

Zhang Fei shook his head at Chao Yuanfeng. ”Senior, my cultivation can reach this stage because I am a dual cultivator, and I have many women by my side who are always ready to help me. Therefore, my cultivation pales in comparison to all of you, especially considering that you have achieved your current level through your own efforts. You are right that I am a soul and body cultivator, and I also learned swordsmanship, but my ability in the sword path is too ordinary.”

”Are you really a dual cultivator, Zhang Fei?” Yuan Luo asked in a tone of shock.

Zhang Fei nodded to her. ”People may look down on the dual cultivation path, but it is the best path for me, and I will never be ashamed to admit my status as a dual cultivator.”

”Oh.” Yuan Luo nodded as she glanced at Xian Xianqin. ʼHmm? Sheʼs obviously interested in him, or else she wouldnʼt look so disappointed, right?ʼ

Chao Yuanfeng then asked, ”Can you tell me the name of your master in the soul cultivation and sword cultivation paths?”

”Senior, I donʼt have a master in the two paths.” Zhang Feiʼs answer shocked not only Chao Yuanfeng but also his disciples, except for Xian Xianwu and Xian Xianqin. ”Some of my wives and partners are sword cultivators, so I learned swordsmanship from them. I donʼt have a master in the soul cultivation path, but I know two senior soul cultivators, and they patiently guided me in learning it. Their names are Qiao Liangren and Shang Yingyue, but Iʼm sure youʼve never heard of them.”

Chao Yuanfeng immediately searched his memories for those two names, but he didnʼt know them because they werenʼt cultivators from the middle realms; they came from the upper realms. ”Youʼre right, I donʼt know them. There are so many cultivators in our universe, and many of them are much more experienced than me in the soul cultivation path. Xianqin said that you are interested in the Star Tower, and she asked me to bring you there, so I asked her to bring you here. Although your cultivation is still at the 1-Star Earth Realm, you already have the qualifications to challenge the tower with your current abilities. However, you will probably fail to pass the challenges on the first floor, especially the battle challenge.”

”Princess Xianqin already told me that we would be facing random enemies, and there were many cultivators much stronger than me there, so I was aware that my chances of passing the first floor were small. However, I was curious about the other challenges, so I wanted to challenge the tower.” Zhang Fei then paused for a moment. ”Moreover, Iʼm still young now, and the opportunities to challenge the tower are endless. If I fail this time, then Iʼll rechallenge it after I become powerful. At least I can get an understanding of the challenges, so I can better prepare myself to face them in the future.”

Chao Yuanfeng nodded his head before turning to one of his male disciples. ”Chui Xue, you are my disciple with the best physical strength, so I want to test Zhang Feiʼs attack power through you.”

”Yes, Master.” Ximen Chuixue immediately stood up from his seat and walked in front of Zhang Fei, who also immediately stood up. ”Junior brother, you donʼt need to worry about hurting me, so feel free to use all your strength to attack me.”

Xian Xianwu immediately interrupted. ”Master, I donʼt think you need to test Zhang Feiʼs attack power, especially since my father has already tested it himself.”

”Oh?” Chao Yuanfeng turned to Xian Xianwu. ”What does Emperor Xian think about his strength?”

”Painful.” Xian Xianwu answered briefly.

”Prince Xianwu, Emperor Xian may have tested his strength, but we want to witness his true strength firsthand. Moreover, Brother Chui Xueʼs physique is solid, so Iʼm sure he can withstand his attack.” Xian Xianwu turned to the female disciple with a frown, but Yuan Luo and the other disciples also agreed with her. ”Zhang Fei, you donʼt need to hold yourself back, and you can attack our brother with all your might.”

Zhang Fei raised his eyebrows slightly as he glanced at the woman. Mei immediately informed him that her name was Bai Tianʼer, and her cultivation was at the 1-Moon Divine Transcend.

Zhang Fei then looked at Ximen Chuixue again. ”Senior brother, I will use all my strength to attack you.”

”Yes.” Ximen Chuixue nodded and immediately took a defensive stance. ”You can start, Junior Brother.”

Zhang Fei immediately took an attacking stance, took a deep breath, and concentrated his strength into his right fist. When he was ready, he punched Ximen Chuixue directly in the abdomen.

*Boom*

Instantly, the atmosphere inside the house became silent, and all of them looked at Ximen Chuixue, who was embedded in the wall on their right. Zhang Feiʼs attack power far exceeded their expectations, as evidenced by the destruction of the wall behind him, leaving a hole in it.

Meanwhile, Xian Xianwu and Xian Xianqin shook their heads, especially since they had witnessed Zhang Fei knocking their father back several steps with just one punch. Although Ximen Chuixue was stronger than them, he could not possibly be stronger than their father.

”Cough... Cough...” Ximen Chuixue coughed hard as he wiped the blood from his mouth, and his expression was one of utter shock as he looked at Zhang Fei. ”Junior brother, your attack power is too terrifying for a cultivator at your level, and it will be even more terrifying after you break through to the seven divine realms.”
