Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 528: Learning Alchemy

Early in the morning, Zhang Fei left Zhang Lin to rest and returned to the Nine Stars Realm, but he immediately sent the disciples of the Yin-Yang Pavilion and the Heavenly Sword Sect into his training space. He also sent those who had not fully adapted to the level three gravity feature, such as Wei Luan, Yi Na, Yue Qingya, and several others there.

After that, Zhang Fei led those with limited fighting experience, including the Earthlings, to train in the forest. In addition, he also summoned all the contract beasts out of his beast space, especially since they also had to improve their fighting abilities so they could protect his wives.

Zhang Fei [1] and Feltia [2] also went to the forest, but they went to different areas to complete the daily quest to kill 500 beasts or demon beasts.

Zhang Xiaolong [3] concentrated on cultivating and completing the quest of absorbing 100,000 Qi in the Wasteland Realm, particularly given that Shang Yaolin was preoccupied with his duties and Murong Qianying was obviously keeping his distance from him.

Zhang Fei [4] solely concentrates on enhancing his demon power with the assistance of Zilvora and Orith, particularly due to their larger female essences than those of other female demons. Moreover, the spider queen could not possibly accept the presence of other succubi, so she put Xenaya and Risaela aside for the time being.

Even so, he did not stop monitoring the movements of the incubus and vampire lords who were getting closer to Lust City, and he contacted Cain to take care of Yhrer. as soon as he arrived in the city.

Since his dual soul cultivator partners are still in the Yin-Yang Space, Zhang Fei [5] decides to help Yang Luʼer and the other six women manage his new store in Paris, and buyers keep flooding his store to buy items from the Sky Jade Realm.

However, the development of his new store was not without problems, as many people from big companies in the same field started to look for trouble with them, but he let Huang Rong and Wang Zetianʼs subordinates take care of them.

Zhang Fei [5] decided to bring Pang Hong to earth, and he ordered his three slaves to protect Huang Rong and the six women, including eliminating all those who had evil intentions toward them. He noticed Jiang Yinghua and Meng Tianshiʼs presence in another building, but he didnʼt pay them much attention and let them watch him from afar.

Meanwhile, Gang Zhishou was sitting with three other people, one of whom was a middle-aged woman. Unlike most women, she had short black hair with a manʼs cut, and her muscular body was clearly visible to the naked eye.

Another middle-aged man sat in front of them while listening to Gang Zhishouʼs story, and he was their master in blacksmithing, Duan Zhao. Despite his young appearance, he was actually very old, and he had lived for several thousand years.

Gang Zhishou then spoke. ”Master, I saw that he had a high interest in blacksmithing, and his physique was not inferior to senior blacksmiths like us, so I imparted the thousand ways of forging to him.”

Duan Zhao nodded in understanding to Gang Zhishou. ”If he can effortlessly lift and swing a 750-pound hammer at his current body cultivation level, which is still at the skin refining stage, he clearly has a bright future in blacksmithing. Therefore, I have no objections to you teaching him the technique.

If he has already broken through to the flesh tempering stage, I am sure he can lift and swing the 1000-pound hammer.”

Unfortunately, Duan Zhao still didnʼt know that Zhang Fei had no problem lifting and swinging the 1000-pound hammer with his current body cultivation level, which was thanks to all his body technique and demon physique.

”However, the body cultivation path differs from the ordinary cultivation path; I donʼt believe he can reach the flesh tempering stage so quickly, Master.” Another middle-aged man with a bald head spoke skeptically.

Another middle-aged man with spiky red hair nodded in agreement. ”I agree with Lu Zhong, master. We are body cultivators, but it takes us about 2 to 3 years to reach the flesh tempering stage, so I also doubt that kid can reach that stage so quickly.”

”Hey, Ah Hu! Didnʼt you and Lu Zhong hear what Zhishou said earlier about that kid?” The middle-aged woman asked while shaking her head. ”That kid is only 20 years old, but his cultivation has already reached the 1-Star Earth Realm, so he is a genius compared to old folks like us.

If my guess is correct, he has not been a body cultivator for too long, so his body cultivation level is lagging behind his cultivation level. If he had started both at the same time, Iʼm sure his body cultivation level would have at least reached the meridian cleansing stage or even the bone forging stage.”

”Xian Xian is right.” Duan Zhao said with a nod. ”There are so many geniuses in this Nine Stars realm, but none of them can reach the Earth realm by the time they are 20 years old. Most of them reach that stage by the age of 25, and some of them reach it after they are 30, so that kid is a genius among geniuses.

No wonder Prince Xuanwu tried to get close to him, and he probably did it on Emperor Xianʼs orders.”

”Do you think Emperor Xian wants to draw Zhang Fei to his side, Master?” Gang Zhishou asked.

Duan Zhao immediately nodded in agreement. ”A talent like Zhang Fei rarely appears in this realm, so Iʼm sure the five Emperors will be attracted to his talent. Emperor Xian is most fortunate because that kid appeared in his kingdom first, so he has a greater chance of winning him over and bringing him to his side.”

”Master, I heard that Emperor Yun is in this kingdom now.” Duan Zhao immediately turned to Ah Hu, especially since he was operating in the Yun Kingdom. ”As I recall, he and Emperor Xian had a very close relationship, and they were like blood brothers. Do you think he will introduce Zhang Fei to him?”

”That might happen.” Duan Zhao then gave it some thought. ”Emperor Xian and Emperor Yun had long wanted to unite their two kingdoms, but the other emperors opposed their plans because their overall strength would surpass their kingdoms, and they were afraid that the two would suppress them.”

”Is it possible to unite the two kingdoms, Master?” Lu Zhong asked Duan Zhong. ”Even though their relationship is very close, I believe that Emperor Yun and Emperor Xian must have their own ambitions, so I do not believe that their plan will succeed.

Even if their plan succeeds, I donʼt think it will last for a long time, and their union will undoubtedly collapse again, causing their relationship to turn bad.”

”I agree with you, Zhong.” Xian Xian then spoke to their master. ”Emperor Xian and Emperor Yun are like two suns, and a kingdom cannot be ruled by two Emperors at once, so one of them will have to give in to the other, but Iʼm not sure either of them is willing to do that. Moreover, they still have their own loyal people, and they would never be willing for the two kingdoms to unite.”

Duan Zhao let out a heavy sigh. ”Forget it; we donʼt need to interfere in the affairs of those kingdoms, and we only need to watch the situation from behind. If the situation is favorable, then itʼs fine for us to get involved, but vice versa.

Anyway, I asked the four of you to come here because someone from the blacksmith union contacted me a few days ago, and he told me that our next opponents have been determined.”

”Who are our next opponents, Master?” All four of them asked this question simultaneously.

”Our next opponents are people from the Divine Flame Realm.” Duan Zhaoʼs answer made their expressions turn serious. ”Our match against them will determine our rankings within the organization, and we will enter the top 10 if we succeed in defeating them.

If we succeed in achieving this, we will receive better facilities from the organization, which will be excellent for the development of the four of you in blacksmithing. Thatʼs why I want you guys to focus on preparing yourselves to fight them, and you must show them that we are not inferior to them. If any of you lost to them, I will give that person a harsh punishment.”

Xian Xian, Lu Zhong, Ah Hu, and Gang Zhishou trembled at Duan Zhaoʼs threats, especially since he was never merciful when giving them punishment.

”Xianʼer, Zhongʼer, and Huʼer.

I want the three of you to bring your disciples in that match, especially since Iʼm sure that the people from the Divine Flame Realm will also bring their juniors, so they can compete in blacksmithing against them.” The three of them nodded in agreement, but Duan Zhao then turned to Gang Zhishou, causing him to laugh awkwardly, especially since he didnʼt have a disciple.

”I know you donʼt like training others, but you still have to choose at least one disciple to be your successor. I think Zhang Fei is your best choice, so you should talk to him about this matter, and he shouldnʼt mind if you want to take him as his disciple.”

Gang Zhishou couldnʼt help but sigh in his heart, especially since he was never interested in taking a disciple. ”I didnʼt ask where Zhang Fei lives, and I already told him that I will be gone for a week, so I will wait for him to come to me to discuss this matter, Master.”

Duan Zhao immediately stood up and walked out, so the four of them right away followed behind him. ”Itʼs been a long time since you guys became independent, and I have prepared something new for you.”

The four of them exchanged glances with each other as they wondered in their hearts, but they didnʼt have to wait long because Duan Zhao immediately threw four large hammers to the ground, and their weight caused the ground beneath them to sink downward.

”I forged them using Nethersteel and Sunsteel, and both are some of the heaviest forging materials I have ever encountered.” Xian Xian, Lu Zhong, Ah Hu, and Gang Zhishou took a deep breath after hearing the two materials. ”As for the handles, I used Goldenash Wood, so they each weigh 5000 pounds.”

”5000 pounds?” They claimed to be in shock. ”Master, do you really want us to swing this hammer now? Didnʼt you ask us to prepare ourselves to fight those from the Divine Flame Realm? The heaviest weight weʼve ever lifted was 2500 pounds, and this hammer is twice that weight.”

”It seems that your strength has gone rusty, Huʼer.” Duan Zhao then lifted one of the hammers and began swinging it. ”See? This hammer is too light even for an old man like me, and you are thousands of years younger than this old man. Donʼt you feel ashamed of this old man?”

Ah Hu was speechless to his master. In contrast, Lu Zhong, Xian Xian, and Gang Zhishou immediately tried to lift their hammers. In the end, he joined his three friends, but they had a hard time lifting them even after using their cultivation.

Duan Zhao shook his head at the sight of his four disciples in such trouble, but he didnʼt say anything and left them.

Zhang Fei then jumped onto a tree and sat beside Zhang Lingxue. ”Lingxue, I want you to teach me about alchemy.”

”Eh?” Zhang Lingxue turned to Zhang Fei in surprise. ”Why do you suddenly want to learn about alchemy? Didnʼt you say that you were not interested in that field?”

Zhang Fei had indeed not been interested in alchemy before, but the existence of the alchemy union made him change his mind, and he could not possibly let them target Zhang Lingxue. Moreover, there was a feature related to alchemy in the system, but it was still locked until now, and he guessed that he could only unlock it by becoming an alchemist.

Zhang Fei immediately explained his idea to Zhang Lingxue, making her sigh helplessly. ”Feiʼer, I am indeed your wife, but I am not fragile like a flower vase, and I am strong enough to protect myself. I know you want to protect me from the alchemy union, but we have sworn to go through good and bad together, so I canʼt possibly let you do everything by yourself.

Itʼs okay if you want to learn alchemy, but I will still appear in public sooner or later.”

”Lingxue is right, Feiʼer.” Huaʼer spoke as she landed beside them. ”Your wives who came from Earth are weak because they have never fought before, but we are different from them. Lingxue, I, and the others were born and raised in the Sky Jade Realm, and we are used to facing many dangers.

Although I once fell into Pang Hongʼs hands, I am still an experienced assassin, and the people I killed in the past were far more than you.”

”Feiʼer.” Zhang Fei immediately turned to Liu Qingyu, who was sitting on the opposite tree. ”You have indeed become strong now, but you must not forget that we have always helped you to solve the problems that arise in front of us. The cultivators in this realm are indeed much stronger than us, but not all of them are evil cultivators, and many of them are good cultivators.

No matter where we live, problems will always arise, so we cannot possibly hide and avoid them for our entire lives.”

Shen Xueyi then added. ”Feiʼer, you should already be aware that cultivators like us can only progress by facing every problem that comes our way, especially since you yourself can develop this quickly because of the problems you faced in our realm before.

I understand your concern about our safety, but your attitude will only make us experience setbacks, and we will not be able to face even stronger cultivators when you take us to the upper realms in the future.”

”I agree with them, Fei.” Shen Yu joined their conversation. ”We are your wives, so I hope you can have more confidence in our abilities, and we will get through everything together.”

”Husband! You are too naive if you think you can face everything by yourself!” Boitata shouted from afar. ”Your power may increase much faster than the rest of us, but the evil people in this universe are simply too numerous. No matter how strong you become in the future, you will still need help from others, and we are not only your wives, but we are also your main forces.”

Zhang Fei let out a heavy sigh and nodded to them. ”You guys are right; I was still too naive in deciding some things. All right, we will continue to help each other to be strong, and we will face all the obstacles that stand in our way together.”

Upon hearing that, they all smiled with satisfaction. Zhang Fei immediately brought Zhang Lingxue into the training space, where he began to learn alchemy from her by utilizing the comprehension feature.

Meanwhile, Shen Xueyi and the others stayed outside to monitor Ru Xue and the others because there were so many beasts that were much stronger than them in the forest, so they could immediately move to save them if any of them faced danger.

In the training space, Zhang Fei attentively listened to Zhang Lingxueʼs explanation, particularly regarding how to control his fire during alchemy. Even so, it was not difficult for him, especially since he had long been able to control the power of his fire.

After all, each ingredient requires a different method. Some herbs must be processed on shallow heat; some require medium heat, but some require high heat. Thatʼs why perfect control of Fire Qi is crucial for concocting pills.

After she was sure that her husband understood everything, Zhang Lingxue immediately took out an alchemy furnace and some herbs. ”Feiʼer, I will show you how to concoct the most basic pill, so you must pay close attention.”

”All right.”
