The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 643: Chapter 643: 7 Years Later

”””I can’t believe I can now harness the power of laws,” Jing Yan thought, finding it all too incredible.

He frowned and stared at Tianshui.

Seeing Jing Yan’s gaze, Tianshui waved his hand and smiled, ”Jing Yan, don’t overthink it. You are still far from truly harnessing the laws; that’s the ability of the Saint Realm. However, your Sword Intent has indeed begun to show a semblance of the power of laws.”

”I think the reason for this change is mainly because you practiced with a Divine Crystal.”

”Why can a Divine Crystal assist practitioners at the Dao Emperor Realm to break their shackles and ascend to the Saint Path? It’s because Divine Crystals contain the laws of Heaven and Earth. Practitioners who cultivate using Divine Crystals can grasp the laws to some extent.”

”Although you were only at the Peak Daoist Master Realm, with the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill, you were barely able to absorb the energy of the Divine Crystal. This allowed you to prematurely understand the laws of Heaven and Earth, which is why your Sword Intent has transformed.”

Tianshui explained slowly.

After hearing this, Jing Yan mostly understood. He indeed couldn’t directly use the laws, but by using Sword Intent, he could exhibit some effects of the laws’ power.

It was indeed a pleasant surprise. Although the effect might be far weaker compared to the true power of the laws, it was still something joyful for Jing Yan.

”Senior, with my current cultivation, if I encounter an ordinary Dao Emperor Realm practitioner, can I fight them head-on?” Jing Yan asked Tianshui, full of hope.

Killing Peak Dao King Realm could be done with ease. But what about encountering a Dao Emperor Realm practitioner?

The Gai Family has several strong practitioners at the Dao Emperor Realm!

”It’s tough! Very tough!” Tianshui did not say what Jing Yan wanted to hear but shook his head vigorously.

”The gap between the Dao Emperor Realm and the Dao King Realm is not as vast as that between the Saint Realm and the Dao Emperor Realm. However, there is still a fundamental difference between the two.”

”It’s not hard to understand; even a practitioner at the Peak Dao King Realm can’t absorb the Divine Crystal. But a practitioner in the Early Stage Dao Emperor Realm can. Now, you should understand the gap between them, right?” Tianshui provided Jing Yan with a simple analogy.

Jing Yan immediately looked disappointed.

”Kid, you shouldn’t be disheartened. Your weak point now should be your martial arts. Your Holy Light Sword Technique and several other secret techniques are not keeping up with your increased strength. If you can make a breakthrough in martial arts, then even if you encounter some less powerful Dao Emperor Realm practitioners, you won’t be without the power to protect yourself.” Tianshui continued.

Upon hearing this, Jing Yan’s eyes lit up.

His Holy Light Sword Technique could transform on its own. However, this required time for research and comprehension; substantial progress couldn’t be made overnight.

Now, he should settle down and thoroughly research the Holy Light Sword Technique. The other Secret Techniques like Void Flame and Flash Spirit, though low-level, weren’t entirely useless. If he could create new Secret Techniques based on those he’d mastered, that would be much better than seeking out other techniques to practice.

It must be said that after the transformation of his acquired Sword Intent, Jing Yan’s understanding of martial arts and Secret Techniques had invisibly deepened a lot.

It was just like the saying, ”once one thing is understood, all things are understood.”

Researching the Holy Light Sword Technique turned out to be much easier than Jing Yan had expected. While practicing to enhance his realm and studying the Holy Light Sword Technique, he managed to elevate the Holy Light Sword Technique to Earth-level in just a year and a half.

General martial arts are essentially divided into three levels: Heaven, Earth, and Man.

In Heavenly Origin Continent, typically, Earth-level Martial Arts are considered top-level. As for Heavenly-level Martial Arts, they generally only exist in some ancient classics with brief descriptions.

In some ancient classics, it’s indeed mentioned that some practitioners of the Saint Realm mastered the vastly powerful Heavenly-level Martial Arts. Nowadays the entire continent has no Saint Realm practitioners, so Heavenly-level Martial Arts are almost legendary. Moreover, Heavenly-level Martial Arts, almost always incorporating the power of laws, can’t be successfully practiced by practitioners outside the Saint Realm.”””

Even Earth-level Martial Arts were extremely rare on the continent.

Jing Yan had elevated the Holy Light Sword Technique to Earth-level, which was already considered extremely powerful.

Over the year and a half that had passed, Jing Yan’s cultivation had also made another breakthrough, reaching the Late Stage of the Dao King Realm. Of course, two more Divine Crystals were consumed, making a total of four used up to that point.

Having reached the Late Stage of the Dao King Realm and elevated the Holy Light Sword Technique to Earth-level, Jing Yan once again extended a thread of his Divine Soul to explore the external environment. However, it was clear that the Qiankun Small World still had not reached the bottom of the Death Abyss.

Jing Yan started to put aside the Holy Light Sword Technique for a while and began to study several secret techniques.

If he could combine Void Flame, Flash Spirit Secret Technique, and Sky Wings, the combined power would likely be far more than just the sum of their parts.

It seemed possible that Void Flame and Flash Spirit could be merged. Then, to combine them with Sky Wings...

Jing Yan immersed himself, beginning to try to realize his ideas.

Time flew like an arrow.

Entering the fifth year within the Death Abyss, Jing Yan’s realm reached the Peak of the Dao King Realm. The Flash Spirit and Void Flame Secret Methods successfully fused into one, which Jing Yan named ”Nihility.”

The Nihility Secret Method, though mainly a fusion of Flash Spirit and Void Flame, also included many elements unique to Jing Yan. What satisfied him the most was incorporating Sword Intent into it.

When Nihility was deployed, it produced a very bizarre effect.

Martial artists of lower strength probably wouldn’t feel anything at all. It wasn’t until an attack of Nihility landed on their bodies that they would realize they had been hit.

Its power was formidable and its speed extremely fast, coupled with being very covert and hard to detect, that’s why Jing Yan named this secret technique ”Nihility.”

According to Jing Yan’s calculations, even Martial Artists at the Peak of the Dao King Realm would find it difficult to avoid an attack from Nihility. It could even be said that a typical Peak Dao King Realm Martial Artist might be killed in one strike by Nihility.

Falling into the Death Abyss for seven years.

Jing Yan’s Martial Arts realm reached the very limit of the Dao King Realm Peak, with one foot already stepping into the Dao Emperor Realm.

So far, Jing Yan had used up ten Divine Crystals, which was nothing compared to the over nine hundred Divine Crystals he possessed.

Sky Wings had also successfully comprehended the Fifth Level. Even Senior Ling Luo had only cultivated it to the Sixth Level, making Jing Yan’s achievement at the Fifth Level very formidable.

The seven years had fundamentally transformed Jing Yan’s demeanor.

His gaze had deepened, and his aura became more restrained.

On this day, like usual, Jing Yan sent out a thread of his Divine Soul.

Jing Yan had grown accustomed to the idea that his Divine Soul would be obliterated once it left the Qiankun Small World, so this time he was very casual about it, harboring no hope at all.

”Hmm?”

”What...” Jing Yan was stunned for the blink of an eye before he realized.

This time his Divine Soul wasn’t obliterated. His Divine Soul had safely left the Qiankun Small World, and the scene outside directly reflected in Jing Yan’s mind.
