The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 137: Chapter 137: The Disheartened Emperor (Part 2)

”What? Can’t answer? You could have easily beaten Jing’er, so why did you press her so hard yesterday, forcing her into the Liangshan Snow Forest! I heard from the Imperial Physician that you were also seriously injured. Tell me, what was your plan? Do you not know what kind of place the Liangshan Snow Forest is? Did you really have to push her to the brink just to make her call off the engagement? Yan’er, as a Prince, even if Jing’er has nothing to do with you, you can’t disregard human life like this! Do you still not know where you went wrong? Moreover, Jing’er is your aunt’s only child. If something were to happen to her, how am I supposed to face your aunt?” The Emperor truly felt that being a father was really difficult!

Especially with such a troublesome son!

He had many sons, and usually, he liked Su Xingyan the most because he was steady, obedient, and had no great ambitions, dedicating himself to assisting the Crown Prince. The Emperor had high expectations for him! But look at what his favoritism has brought about?

Was he planning to anger him to death alive!

Su Xingyan truly felt wronged. What did they mean when they said he wanted to force Han Jing to her end? It’s true he had that intention, but the events of yesterday leading to the Snow Forest were not his fault alone!

He did push Han Jing, that’s true, but Han Jing also pushed him! Otherwise, how could he have gotten lost in an environment so familiar to him, ending up losing his way!

”She is just an adopted daughter of my aunt...” Su Xingyan felt very wronged, just an adopted daughter, picked up from who knows where, was it necessary to explain? Why in the Emperor’s eyes did it seem that Han Jing, a picked-up niece, was more important than his own biological son?

Su Xingyan felt quite uncomfortable!

”Nonsense!” The Emperor couldn’t help but curse!

After a long while, the Emperor calmed his breath: ”Have you ever heard of your aunt’s past with Duke Wei Han Si Que?”

Su Xingyan was slightly startled, not understanding why his father would bring this up. He had, of course, heard of his aunt’s past with Duke Wei Han Si Que. Not just him, but everyone in the Capital City had heard of it. Today, he even heard people quietly gossiping that last night Han Si Que was seen following his aunt out. And the person who finally found him last night was indeed Duke Wei Han Si Que; he hadn’t even had time to thank him yet!

The Emperor sighed: ”Han Si Que and your aunt grew up together, deeply in love. Even the late Emperor intended to bestow marriage upon them. As long as your aunt spoke a word, she could get the imperial decree for marriage at any time. But your aunt was stubborn and felt that the matter of marriage should be proposed by Han Siqu. What she didn’t expect was that after she told Han Si Que of her lifelong ailment and inability to bear children, he, after struggling, arranged a betrothal with someone else. Just because of the issue of children, your aunt lost the love of her life, watching helplessly as he married someone else. I have only one legitimate sister, your aunt. Back then, during the numerous crises in the Capital, it was thanks to your aunt’s repeated rescues that not only I, but all of you, likely escaped disaster. Yan’er, one must be grateful. But my indulgence towards your aunt goes beyond gratitude; it’s heartache, heartache for her lonely life. Although Jing’er is her adopted daughter, she raised her personally, with no difference from her own child. You may not like her, but you must absolutely not harm her! It’s not just that your aunt wouldn’t tolerate it, I will not allow anyone to harm her either!”
