The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Breaking Off the Engagement!!! (Part 6)

So, no matter how arrogant Su Yaogeng was in the past, at this moment she was just a mother heartbroken for her child. What’s more, everyone present knew the Eldest Princess’s status was noble, but there was one thing that couldn’t help but evoke sympathy: she couldn’t have children.

Because of this, the one she loved chose to marry someone else, and no matter how capable she was, she could only watch as the one she loved married another.

No matter how formidable she was, some things were beyond her control.

So she doted on her only daughter, Han Jing, to such an extent that anyone with a bit of heart could understand.

Even the Emperor knew how much Su Yaogeng cherished Han Jing. Therefore, in this matter, he always requested Su Xingyan to show some leniency to Han Jing.

However, he truly didn’t expect that Su Xingyan not only failed to yield but also forced a young lady at every turn. And now, for Su Yaogeng to disregard her dignity like this and bring the matter to light in front of so many people, the implication was clear: the marriage was to be annulled, but this matter would not be settled easily.

It also made everyone see what kind of person Su Xingyan was.

But the problem was, Su Xingyan was his own son!

The Emperor really felt a great loss of face this time!

He repeatedly instructed Su Xingyan that if the marriage was truly to be annulled, it should be done amicably since they were family, and causing a ruckus would bring more harm than good! But where did Su Xingyan heed his words?

The Emperor now wished he could grab Su Xingyan and give him a sound thrashing. The trouble he caused made his father lose face along with him!

Moreover, for what? A grown man forcing his fiancée to cancel their engagement, nearly driving her to death, and this fiancée was even his cousin! Didn’t he find that shameful!

The Emperor found himself so cornered by Su Yaogeng’s words he couldn’t utter a word. Not to mention him, just looking at everyone’s expressions, one could tell how tainted Su Xingyan’s reputation had become!

The Emperor felt exceptionally frustrated!

Fortunately, the Empress was quick to respond, knowing that the longer this was dragged out, the more humiliating it would be. She quickly said to the Emperor, ”Emperor, indeed this incident has wronged Jing’er, that maid, so much. You must compensate her properly!”

These words reminded the Emperor, and he quickly said to Su Yaogeng, ”Zheng’er, rise. This is indeed my failure as a father in raising my son, which wronged Jing’er. Since you have brought up annulling the engagement, let it be so! As her uncle, I’m truly unwilling to see Jing’er suffer such grievances. Upon returning to the Capital City, I will order the Ministry of Rites to draft, officially conferring Jing’er as Princess Chenyu. Once you return, console Jing’er well. I will definitely ensure justice is served for her!”

The daughter of a Princess can be titled as a County Princess, but it is extremely rare to be conferred as a Commandery Princess. Moreover, when Han Jing was made a County Princess, the Emperor allowed her to use the Imperial Family’s surname, which meant acknowledging her as a descendant of the Imperial Family. Now being personally conferred as a Commandery Princess, such honor is rare and unparalleled.

Aside from the birthmark on her face, among the noblewomen in the Capital City, Han Jing stood at the top in terms of glory.

Even some of the princesses and commandery princesses of the Imperial Family might not be as favored as she was.

Everyone couldn’t help but marvel at how fortunate Han Jing was, wondering what incense she burned in her past life!

Su Yaogeng didn’t expect such a sweet reward from the Emperor.
