Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1999: Chapter 2001: I’m Not an Ordinary Kid

Cheng Su took her parents and Xiao Qi to visit the Cheng family to greet Old Master Cheng, lest the elderly man keep worrying and call multiple times a day.

”...Good, good, it’s nice that you’ve moved over, you’ll be able to see each other often, no more running back and forth.” Old Master Cheng was very happy to see them, stroking his beard with a broad smile.

Beside him, Sister-in-law Cheng laughed and said, ”The old man has been thinking about you. He wonders several times a day when you’ll be moving here. Now it’s settled, and we finally have some peace.”

These words made everyone burst into laughter.

Old Master Cheng nodded at his elder daughter-in-law, then looked at Father Cheng, and said, ”I heard your family has also bought a house?”

”Yes, we’ve bought one. We plan to visit it tomorrow.” Father Cheng replied immediately.

Old Master Cheng grunted in approval: ”That’s good. With everyone around, it’s easier to take care of whatever comes up. I’ve also heard your third child’s company is doing better and better business!”

”They say it’s good, and that’s thanks to your care.” Father Cheng laughed.

”Among our own, it’s naturally like that. And with the second working in real estate, they’ll need people for renovations; they’ll certainly prefer familiar and familial faces. The key is the workmanship must be up to par, right?” Old Master Cheng said.

Father Cheng nodded vigorously like a pecking chicken: ”You’re right, that’s how I advised him too. It’s better to take on fewer projects but ensure the quality remains high.”

”Yes, that’s very wise. When the quality is evident, naturally the work will come your way.” Old Master Cheng said with a smile.

Cheng Su interjected: ”Old Master, let’s not talk about business. We can discuss it later.”

Old Master Cheng smiled and nodded with a tap of his finger.

”Our little princess has woken up.” Sister-in-law Cheng called out suddenly.

Everyone looked over and saw Ying Xiaoya walking into the hall carrying a small baby, her little hands and feet showing brightly.

”Look at her, this girl is so well-born.” Old Master Cheng’s eyes squinted with joy at the sight of his little granddaughter.

After giving birth, Ying Xiaoya, still nursing, had a figure that hadn’t slimmed down yet, still plump, but her complexion was rosy, and her skin seemed even better than before childbirth, showing she was well-cared for.

”Here, let Auntie have a look at our Beibei!” Ying Xiaoya placed the baby into Cheng Su’s arms.

Cheng Su quickly held her, looking down to study the baby. Big eyes, thick hair, tiny mouth, and a pretty nose; she resembled Cheng Yaozu more, but her skin took after Ying Xiaoya’s, fair and chubby.

She grabbed the child’s arm, its pink and white skin like a lotus root, tempting one to take a bite, and the little kicking legs were also rosy and tender.

The little one yawned, gazing at Cheng Su, perhaps unfamiliar, her lip quivered and she was about to cry.

”Oh dear, recognizing people already?” Cheng Su laughed: ”I’m your auntie!”

Beibei began to cry.

Ying Xiaoya had no choice but to take her back, then spotted Qi Xiaoqi, and went over, saying: ”Xiao Qi, take a look at your little sister, want to hold her?”

Qi Xiaoqi tilted his head and looked over, saying: ”So chubby.”

Um...

Cheng Su pinched his cheek and scolded, ”All babies are like that, you were even chubbier when you were little!”

Qi Xiaoqi gave her a half-smile, as if saying don’t fool me, I’m no ordinary child.

Cheng Su embarrassedly turned her head, thinking the boy was a cheeky one.

Only then did Qi Xiaoqi retract his gaze, suddenly feeling a weight in his hands. Instinctively, he cradled it; Ying Xiaoya had already placed Beibei in his arms.

He was startled and looked down, meeting the little girl’s clear eyes. Alright then, chubby as she was, she was pretty cute.
