Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1987: Chapter 1989: Let’s Rent It

Deng Weixia accompanied Liu Wenjing and her son home, changed his clothes, and prepared to go to work. Although the burden at home had lightened, his responsibilities had never lessened; he still had to support the whole family and pay off debts.

Liu Wenjing stared blankly at the large bag of clothes, her gaze somewhat complicated.

According to Mother Cheng, Cheng Su was planning to buy new clothes after moving to Guangcheng, so she decided to give away these old ones.

Such nice clothes, given away just like that, discarded so easily; this is the confidence and style of the wealthy!

And myself...

Can only pick up the old!

Liu Wenjing touched the clothes, sighing once again at how people are simply incomparable. Some people, perhaps all their lives, will struggle to reach such heights.

”I’m off to work!” Deng Weixia came out of the room.

Liu Wenjing absently responded, thinking of the idea of visiting the Cheng family as a guest, and stood up to call him back: ”Wait a moment.”

”What is it?”

Liu Wenjing held his hand and said, ”Well, Sister-in-law and her family are moving to Guangcheng, and they want to rent out their house. You heard, right?”

”Yeah, so?” Deng Weixia looked at her bewildered.

Liu Wenjing pressed her lips together and said, ”Let’s rent that house!”

Deng Weixia was taken aback: ”Rent it? Don’t we already have a house to live in?”

He spoke, glancing around at their current house. His expression darkened slightly. Sure, they had a place to live, but the surroundings and this house couldn’t compare to his cousin’s.

His cousin’s house was really nice; it was newly built, with good decoration, and most importantly, it was sunny and well-ventilated, unlike here, which was very dark and uncomfortable to live in.

”You’ve seen it; our house is so dark. Gou Sheng is studying, and sometimes during the day, if the weather is bad, we have to turn on the lights for him to do his homework!” Liu Wenjing said, ”Sister-in-law’s house is different; it’s got good sunlight and a nice environment. Living there makes people more comfortable. Moreover, it’s a house in the military compound, very safe, and all the kids in the compound are from military families, so our son can meet some of them too!”

Deng Weixia’s heart was moved as he looked at his son, a little boy playing with a ball.

He wasn’t a fool; although he worked in a restaurant, he understood the importance of relationships. Who you hang out with determines who you become, and the circle you’re in will shape you.

Have you ever seen a rich kid and a poor kid become friends from the start? Never!

Living in the compound, the friends made would naturally be the kids from military families. Friendships formed while growing up together, no matter how successful one becomes in the future, would be easier to handle.

”However, their house is so nice, the rent must be expensive.” Considering the price, Deng Weixia hesitated a little.

Liu Wenjing said, ”I know that, but renting to familiar relatives, knowing each other, is surely better than renting to strangers, right? As for the rent, we could ask for a favor from my cousin...”

Deng Weixia’s expression changed, and he replied without thinking, ”Don’t even think about it. We’ve already benefited enough from their kindness; we can’t take advantage of them.”

Liu Wenjing felt her face heat up and said, ”We’re not taking advantage; we just feel that as relatives, the price should be a bit less. At least we, as relatives, won’t use the house for anything illegal or cause trouble! Don’t you know some tenants have turned landlords’ houses into crime scenes? I guess sister-in-law wouldn’t want that either!” Deng Weixia fell silent and glanced at the time, ”Let’s talk about it later! I’m off to work now!” He said, quickly heading out.

Liu Wenjing sat back down, pondering the possibility. Would Cheng Su and her family be willing?
