Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1956: Chapter 1958: Begging You to Give Us a Way Out

I’m pregnant!

Those four simple words left Bi Xiaojin utterly dumbfounded. His first thought was, this is my child, I’m going to be a father!

The overwhelming joy enveloped him, leaving his hands and feet unsure of where to be, as he gazed at Chiang Qing with a foolish grin.

Chiang Qing found his smile glaringly offensive. What was he so happy about? Could he be thinking that this child has anything to do with him?

”You... how long has it been? How many months?” Bi Xiaojin held her hands, his eyes fixed on her abdomen.

Chiang Qing shook off his hands and said, ”What does it have to do with you?”

Bi Xiaojin was stunned.

”This child belongs to Shen Rong, and has nothing to do with you.” Chiang Qing looked into his eyes and said, ”You’ve got your money, now leave, leave the Capital. This money, whether you choose to start a business or find a woman to marry and have children, it’s up to you, just leave quickly.”

Bi Xiaojin felt hurt by her cold words and said, ”You... the child could also be mine, couldn’t it?”

Chiang Qing’s face turned cold: ”Have you forgotten why you showed up here in the first place? What, is the fifty thousand not enough? Leave first, I’ll transfer another fifty thousand to you tomorrow, is that enough?”

”I don’t want the money!” Bi Xiaojin said, ”I want you!”

He embraced Chiang Qing and said, ”Leave him, I will give you and the child a home, a real home, how about it?”

He’s gone mad, gone completely mad!

Chiang Qing broke free from his embrace and slapped him: ”Bi Xiaojin, do you want to get me killed? Or do you intend to get both me and my child killed? Do you even know the nonsense you’re spouting?”

Bi Xiaojin was stunned.

”What. Give me and the child a home? Who do you think you are? Is Shen Rong dead or something? Do you know why I want this child? You have no idea what you’re even offering me.” Chiang Qing was fuming as she said, ”I urge you to put away those thoughts and leave immediately, otherwise, you won’t even know how you died! Shen Rong is not someone to mess with!”

”And you? What if he finds out, what happens then?” Bi Xiaojin looked up at her.

”Do you know why I chose you? Because you resemble a Shen Family Member. Even if this child looks like you...” Chiang Qing gritted her teeth, turned her head and continued, ”Even if the child looks like you, they will only see a resemblance to a Shen Family Member. No one will know!”

A flicker of pain crossed Bi Xiaojin’s eyes, ”Qing...”

”Shut up, I beg you, give me and the child a chance to live!” Chiang Qing said, ”If you stay in the Capital, you’ll only be dragging us down with you. If it turns out to be really... so I beg you to leave, to give us a way to live!”

Bi Xiaojin took two steps back, staring at her like a fool.

She’s begging him to give them a chance to live? How could he ever harm them!

”I will give birth to the child, they will have the best of everything, you can rest easy.” Chiang Qing avoided his wounded gaze and said, ”Only in the Shen Family can the child truly excel, have the best, and not live like a street rat, hiding and scurrying.”

Listening to this, Bi Xiaojin’s heart felt like it was being torn apart.

”Can I hold you one more time?” he cried, ”This might be my last time holding you, and my first time holding the child!”

Chiang Qing was stunned; it was the first time she’d seen a man cry for her.

Was he truly sincere?

No, regardless of whether he was sincere or not, she couldn’t let her heart soften; otherwise, she’d fall into an abyss with no chance of recovery.

But when Bi Xiaojin embraced her again, she didn’t pull away. Perhaps, this was her first and last taste of a man’s true feelings!

Then so be it, a final moment of indulgence.
