The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 298: Finishing the Last One

I was wandering around the school, killing the heroes’ parents when I found them, it was quite fun even though the reactions didn’t change much, they ranged from trying to attack me to simply trying to run away.

Or falling to the ground crying and trying to negotiate their lives in some way, of course none of that worked, I simply tortured them with some shadow that seemed interesting.

As I had thought, the octopuses are interesting shadows, they wrapped around them and started to tighten and fold, breaking and dislocating the joints while compressing the target’s body.

A slow and painful death that earned me some good screams, another one I found quite interesting were the crocodiles, they bit their prey and twisted, brutally ripping off the bitten parts.

The twisting in the limbs was so violent that some even fainted from pain before it was over because apparently it affects the body a lot, although death was quick unless I instructed them to do it slowly.

In the end, they all had painful deaths, some faster and others slower while their souls were kept, and now only one of them remains.

Furthermore, my shadows have practically devastated Japan since I spent a lot of time torturing everyone I found, now some of the shadows are moving to other countries across the ocean.

The most interesting one is the giant shark, it has already reached another country and is currently causing various damages, the dragons are also close to arriving, unfortunately smaller shadows are still in the middle of the ocean or haven’t even left Japan as they are still hunting survivors.

Of course, destroying a country in a few hours is indeed something that can be considered a great accomplishment since my shadows don’t even come close to the power I have, but I wish it could be faster since the earth is not that big.

”...” The live stream continues with a great movement since the recordings continue, at this point the Japanese army and nearby armies have already been defeated, but they still haven’t tried to use nuclear weapons on me.

Maybe they still don’t consider that a viable option, or maybe the fact that we have spread makes it difficult, I am here in Japan, but some of my shadows are already destroying cities in other nearby countries.

And they don’t know if my death will stop the attacks, so the problem they took too long to solve ended up splitting.

”It seems that only one is left, how pitiful,” I say to the live stream as I watch the last survivor, she deserves a special prize for being able to endure until now without being caught by me.

The last survivor is a woman, she is Kaito’s mother, she seems to have a good athletic build which allowed her to explore a large part of the school, and since the spider shadow only hunted students, she remained unharmed.

”S-Stop right there!” She says pointing a gun at me, as if that could save her.

”The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

”Do you know this phrase?” I ask her, pointing out how her current actions seem to be repeating the stupid ideas of others, repeating them won’t make a difference, if a Japanese fighter jet couldn’t kill me why would a gun?

”Come on, be creative, think of something better,” I say taking steps forward as I smell the place, an unpleasant smell of chemicals.

She quickly shoots the ground near me, a small explosion of flames occurs, but it doesn’t even damage my dress.

”Not bad, I guess, if your plan was just to kill a human,” I say stepping through the flames, she starts shooting multiple shots while I take calm steps.

The phone was completely protected by the shadows so the live stream continues without problems.

”I’ll give you an extra prize for the creativity that the others didn’t have,” I say appearing in front of her and hugging her, her big breasts touch mine as I start to tighten my grip.

She tries to escape, hit and struggle, but my grip slowly gets stronger as my smile frightens her, she has realized that she cannot escape from my grasp.

”Did you know that some types of snakes coil around their prey and crush them, breaking their bones? I wonder how much pressure it takes until you break,” I say tightening my grip, hearing small snaps.

”Y-You monster! L-Let me go!” She starts trying to punch my face, but it does nothing but hurt her own hands as blood starts to trickle from her mouth and nose.

”When the pressure increases your bones start to break and press your organs until they are pierced, I believe your lungs are already gone,” I say as blood splatters on my face.

”P-Please...l-let me live,” She says crying, her tears mixing with blood as my grip slowly increases, I just watch as her bones break and crack.

”I think your spine is almost breaking, how long will you survive?” I ask her as I hear small cracks, it’s her ribs breaking as they are pressed against me.

I am deliberately making this as slow as possible, increasing the strength and pressure of the grip slowly just to see how much she can endure before dying.

My body is like an impenetrable wall, so it’s as if my hug is a wall crushing her from all sides, the amount of blood increases as her ribs pierce her skin and stick out.

I can see her bones partially sticking out, but they start to break because they have no space and no way to pierce my body to make way.

She is barely conscious, making strange sounds due to the blood in her mouth, until everything that keeps her stable breaks, like no other bone holds her upper body falls back.

It’s like when you hold a rubber stick and bend it until it looks like an L, I just let go of the body, which falls to the ground all limp while I clean the blood from my body with magic.

This seems to be the limit of a human, the force I used is not even 0.01% of what I can do, humans are so pathetically fragile, or maybe I am too strong by their standards.

”...” It’s over now, she is dead, it was quick, but even ending quickly is satisfying, because it makes me think about the future, when the heroes will see their parents being tortured.

It’s a strange feeling of mental satisfaction, as if something I had given up on hunting finally came within my reach, and I, as a good hunter, obtained this rare prey before it escaped through my fingers.

I have to thank the stars for this wonderful opportunity, now that the heroes’ parents and that traitor who abandoned my mother are dead, only the heroes and my revenge are left.

I take a moment to stretch totally satisfied with this outcome, I can only think about how to torture the heroes’ parents in my universe later on, I wonder what punishments are most appropriate.

”Hmm?” The System suddenly sends me a notification, this is indeed curious as I thought it wouldn’t act at all because I am in another world, without caring about the live stream I look at the system, it might be something important and I don’t want to miss it.

[Congratulations, you have met all the necessary conditions for your maturation and increase in authority with respect to the system, new advantages can be unlocked and your authority as a goddess will increase.

The system is informing you in advance that your body will undergo a brief stage of evolution, your power will be fully unlocked, you will reach the adult stage of your race.

However, your consciousness will be temporarily severed to undergo this evolution process that will require a good amount of mana, after that your title as a goddess will be fully granted.

Your past and current actions are being analyzed so that your title can be completed, the title may be changed in the future depending on various factors, but you will hold it for some time.

The system informs that as such your body will have autonomy for a while to find a safe location for your complete evolution, meaning that the user may experience headaches, loss of consciousness, and momentary inertia until the evolution is completed.

The system urgently recommends finding a safe location beforehand for greater security against sudden attacks, as well as a strong mentality to not be consumed by your own mind.

Moreover, the lack of momentary control serves as a defense mechanism of the user who will seek to protect the body in this important stage of your life.]

”...” As soon as the system informs me my head feels heavy, as if the weight of the entire world is trying to crush me to take my consciousness away from me.

As an instinct, even without being my choice my body creates wings and begins to fly through the school towards the nearest ocean, where it is more difficult to attack me, leaving the phone behind ignoring the live stream that was still recording.

I don’t have much control and my vision is quickly darkening, at this point I end up just falling from the sky into the ocean, thanks to my speed I manage to reach an area of the ocean.

My body sinks in the water as the shadows begin to cover and expand to create a barrier to protect my body from any possible threats that may arise.

I didn’t expect this out of nowhere, and I didn’t have much time to enjoy the moment, I am barely conscious when everything finally darkens.
