The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 265: Arriving at the black market auction

We’re in front of the location at a more isolated spot in the city, Amiya is a bit nervous about everything, not knowing where we’re going as I grab my pass for the black market.

The two of us head to an alley and find a suspicious door with two men in front of it, they look at us two who are wearing masks and seem to perfectly notice our purpose.

”Could you hand over your pass?” One of them questions as he approaches, while the other seems alert in case he needs to act, I grab my pass and hand it to him, who is surprised.

After all, my pass is of a very high level due to my daring plays made in the past by showing an extremely valuable ore in a very high amount.

”I see everything is in order, is she your companion?” The man questions, looking at Amiya who seems bothered by the situation.

”Yes, she’s with me,” I agree with him.

”Where do you wish to go?” He questions as he guides me to the door, the auction has a special password to be said in advance since it was made by the leader of the black market herself.

So if she’s not previously informed, they won’t let me in, as he will communicate with the others.

However, I know the password, my crows got that password and passed it on to me, without a doubt they are very convenient, although most of my crows only deliver unnecessary junk to me.

”The dew flower that is more valuable than all the jewels in the world,” I say the password, although I’m not sure of the meaning of the password.

”...The auction will begin in 1 hour, just follow straight ahead for 7 streets, turn right and go straight for 10 more streets and you’ll see an establishment called Dew Flower, just go in there and they’ll guide you to the passage,” He says as he opens the door for me.

”Perfect,” I say only that as I enter with Amiya silently following me as I had told her to do.

We follow the path where we see many people and various stalls with all kinds of items, from prohibited artifacts to drugs that the kingdom does not allow the manufacture of.

Amiya looks curiously, but I just ignore it, I know the things here well thanks to the crows, most of it is just junk to trick the newcomers, rarely will there be anything really good in the small stalls.

There are only valuable items inside the buildings that are places where there are sellers who have a greater reputation in the black market and as such have better items.

”P-Pandora, what is this suspicious place?” Amiya questions as we turn the corner following the instructions.

”The black market.”

”...”

”I’m sure you understand what a black market is, there’s no need to explain anything else to you.”

”C-Can I know why you brought me here?”

”I’m going to teach you how to torture people.” The corruption she has increases, but nothing speaks as it increases, being sexually used by me increased her corruption, but if she becomes evil, will the corruption also increase?

”W-What? I don’t want that!” Amiya speaks agitated, drawing some attention.

”You don’t have the right to choose, you said you wanted to receive orders, now you’ll obey even if I have to break some of your bones.” I want to test how far my torture skills have improved.

Torture was what I focused on the least in my training, the biggest focus in the last few months has been on improving the quality of the kingdom, expanding its territory and taking care of the population since they will be my army and need to be strong.

Followed by training my fighting style and developing my spells, and only after all that did I give some attention to torture training by reading various books on how to cause a lot of pain while delaying the target’s death as much as possible.

”...” Amiya is clearly disappointed, she probably thought I was going to use her sexually, but she doesn’t understand the pleasure of killing as much as she probably fears death.

When I lost the fear of death, I was able to see how unique and egalitarian it can be for everyone, just as I torture my enemies, I’m always ready in case I suffer torture.

I will keep my way of being forever, even if I’m killed or tortured, I will never beg for my life, and if the life of someone I care about is at risk, I won’t beg for their life either.

I’ve already learned this lesson, begging will never make the other side change their mind, it only makes them more excited, so I have something simple in my mind, if one day I find myself in a bad situation and get out alive, I’ll make the enemy pay for the mistake of letting me live.

Just as I only let enemies I can control remain alive and eliminate those who are problematic, as in the case of Aokitsu, she’s not very smart and is much weaker than me, so I had no problem leaving her alive, because I have various ways to control her.

”Don’t worry, Amiya, it will be useful to learn this. From what I could see in your status, you can unlock new uniforms based on what you do or suffer, maybe you’ll unlock a new one.”This is also interesting to me.

I may end up discovering new things to use on the heroes, I’m getting closer and closer and this is so exciting, every day the eternal death and torment of the heroes is getting closer.

The two of us arrive at the location and a man in a suit guides us with a huge smile on his face, passing us through a passage in the back that after 5 minutes of walking we arrive in a huge area with several seats.

”Would you like anything, ma’am?” The man asks, putting me and Amiya in one of the upper areas, that is, more privileged, indicating our status in the auction, there is no row above me, only rows a little distant, but next to it.

Showing that this is the highest area of the entire auction, I wonder who will be in the other places of honor at this auction.

”Hmm, I think just a good wine, preferably the oldest you have, and bring some glasses for me,” I make my request and look at Amiya.

”And for her you can just bring a glass of water.” Amiya seems incredulous at the difference in orders as the man in the suit goes to get my order.

”P-Pandora, can I at least know what you want at the black market?” Amiya questions, she apparently doesn’t understand how important this auction is.

”Information.” I want information about the church and I’m sure the owner of the black market has it, because humans are greedy, someone must have already sold a lot of information from the church to the black market.

”And if there’s an exotic slave, I’ll buy him to torture with me, think of it as a good time between friends.” I say with a malicious smile.

”After all, this is something that only true friends would do together, right? I’ve never invited a ’friend’ to torture someone with me before, it seems exciting, don’t you think?” Having Amiya as a friend wouldn’t be bad at all.

She would be that easily influenced type of friend who always follows the leadership, which makes her more fun and convenient, it’s already fun what she’s doing with Riko even without knowing.

”N-Not that kind of thing...”

”Don’t worry, it’s serious, you’ll enjoy it at some point too.” Maybe it’s just me who is too bloodthirsty and sadistic to see the fun in it, but it doesn’t matter.

I’m the Demon King, what kind of Demon King wouldn’t enjoy destruction and death? In the end, I’m just being true to my role, and clearly loving that role.

I’m like the absolute evil or something similar, this will make something even more fun in the war, the ”absolute evil” against the ”righteous heroes” in a battle to determine the fate of all races.

Of course, after killing the heroes, I’ll need to settle the matter with the hero summoning circle, I need to find some way to destroy it, not out of fear of future heroes, but because it’s annoying.

No one wants to be at peace in their castle and suddenly be attacked by someone for no reason, maybe I can eat the summoning circle? The Passive Devourer can theoretically make me devour everything.

However, it is only a description of the system, I do not know how much each description is credible, after all if my passive can devour everything and a special weapon is called unbreakable, it means that one of the two is lying.

’Is it true...can I devour a special grade weapon? Or not?’ Violet never manifested outside of a physical weapon, so I can’t say if special grade weapons are really unbreakable or if it’s just hyperbole or overestimation of these weapons.

Maybe they’re just so resistant that nothing and no one has yet had the strength to break one of them, in the end the term unbreakable is just for something that someone can’t break, it doesn’t mean no one can break it.

”Here is your wine, ma’am, and the water for your companion.” The man in the suit appears with two glasses, a bottle of wine and a bowl of water.

”...Did I say she was a slave?” I look at him with false anger, it’s funny that the black market thinks Amiya is my slave, it shows they were watching our interactions and saw me giving orders to Amiya and talking to her in a way that indicated that.

”I-I...I’m sorry, ma’am, I think I got confused.” The man in the suit apologizes nervously.

”It’s okay, it’s a small mistake, everyone makes mistakes, I’ll be satisfied if you drink poison and die as an apology.” I say sentencing his life, but not doing anything.

He nervously places the items on a table and runs out of the room, I’m sure someone noticed this conversation, so his life is over the moment I told him to kill himself.

”P-Pandora, why did you do that?”

”Simple, because I can, you understand? He indirectly called you a slave, shouldn’t you be happy that he died?” I wouldn’t accept anyone insulting me, I may not do anything at the moment, but I’ll do something to them at another time.

”Amiya, don’t pay attention to him, about 80% of everyone in the black market are criminals, their lives are worth as much as the dust found on the ground.” It’s an unfortunately undeniable fact.

In the world, only what is powerful, has status or has influence has value, those below this natural pyramid have no value.

I myself am almost at the top of this pyramid, below only a few like the goddesses and the Primordial Goddess who is the top of this pyramid.

”Here, drink some wine.” I hand her a glass, and Amiya shivers, understanding perfectly why I asked for two glasses.

”Y-You k-knew...”

”Knew what?” I ask, pretending to be innocent, as if I didn’t know that man would mistake Amiya for a slave by the way I treat her.

”...N-Nothing...I-I accept the wine.” Amiya speaks nervously, realizing how easy it is to control people with simple words, after all I just asked for a ”glass of water” for that man, leaving many interpretations.

”See this as a lesson, Amiya, words have more power than they seem.” I say only that, serving our wine to wait for the auction to begin.
