Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!

Chapter 798: Samantha

Neither Samantha nor Arabel said a word until Samanthaʼs father returned. Arabel didnʼt know what to say, and Samantha, Arabel noticed, didnʼt want to talk to her.

When a middle-aged man with brown hair like Samanthaʼs appeared, a teenager of about fourteen, who looked very much like his father, appeared from his room.

Despite the fact that this family was Arabelʼs relatives, she felt the distance between them and was not very surprised by this. Only Pamela was more or less friendly towards her.

Seeing this attitude, as soon as the entire Astor family gathered, Arabel opened an Access Portal and, telling them what could and could not be done, sent everyone to a previously prepared small house for one family.

And before she entered herself, she glanced at Darkia, who, as usual, was smiling and did not say a word.

Late at night, sitting in the bedroom of the family home, Arabel immersed herself in her memories of the past, before and after the disaster. She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didnʼt notice when Idan entered the bedroom.

Seeing that Arabel was deep in thought, Idan walked over to her and sat down next to her. It was only then that she noticed her husband, and although she was surprised at first, she soon gave him a sweet smile.

”Wasnʼt my wife waiting for my return?” Idan asked.

Instead of answering, Arabel took him in her arms and kissed him gently.

When they pulled away from each other after a while, Idan noticed that Arabelʼs behavior was unusual and very different from her usual mood.

”Whatʼs bothering you so much, Belle?” he asked, taking her cold hands in his and warming them with his warmth.

Seeing that her concern was noticed, Arabel stopped smiling and sighed.

”Today I went after the ”zero” Host of the Dark System,” Arabel confessed, and Idanʼs playful mood immediately changed to a serious one.

”Did something happen during this visit?” Idan asked.

”No, nothing happened,” Arabel hastened to add. ”Can you imagine that this ”zero” Host of the Dark System is not some unknown person, but someone I know and even a distant relative.”

This revelation shocked Idan a little, making him frown and think.

”Her name is Samantha, and sheʼs my second cousin on my motherʼs side,” Arabel continued.

Arabel then began with a distant account of the Astor family, which she knew about. She said that her grandmother, being a member of the Astor family, married her grandfather, a member of the Morgan family, in order to establish and strengthen ties between the two families.

As far as Arabel knows, the two families have been successfully cooperating and developing for several years. However, after some time, a conflict arose between them, and as a result, the Morgan family absorbed the entire business and influence of the Astor family.

”I do not know exactly what happened then, and I do not remember my grandmother, as she was no longer alive by the time we were born,” Arabel said. ”But since then, the Astor family has held a grudge against the Morgan family.”

”The first time I met Samantha was when Arslan and I were transferred to a private school attended by Arslanʼs ex—fiancee, who was found by our family,” Arabel continued. ”Although we were in different classes, because Samantha was Victoriaʼs best friend, we saw each other a lot.”

”If anything, Victoria is the name of Arslanʼs fiancee,” Arabel added, so that Idan would understand who she was talking about.

”Although we found out almost immediately that we were distant relatives, we didnʼt communicate with each other,” she continued. ”And it was only thanks to Victoriaʼs efforts that we finally started communicating.”

”But everything changed when there was a disaster that changed everything.”

”A lot of our friends died that day.”

”Of those we knew, only a few people survived, and Victoria and Samantha were among them. But Samantha was less fortunate than the others: she not only lost both eyes, but also suffered serious internal injuries.”

”Besides, Samantha lost her mother during the disaster.”

Idan hadnʼt met this girl yet, but he already felt sorry for her after hearing Arabelʼs story about what she had to go through.

”Only once, at Victoriaʼs request, my brother Arslan and I visited Samantha after the disaster, even before Arslan became an Awakened One.”

”That visit left an indelible impression on me.”

”When I saw how Samantha was transformed after months of recovery, itʼs hard to describe in words.”

”It was as if she had turned into another person, and her artificial white crystal eyes especially stuck in my memory.”

”Some time after the first injection of the serum, Arslan became Awakened, and the family, seeing more prospects in him, terminated the marriage contract between Victoria and Arslan.”

Arabel paused and looked at Idan. ”I donʼt remember if I told you about this, but after everything that happened, Victoria, who loved Arslan very much, could not become Awakened to return everything to how it was, and, being under strong pressure from her family, committed suicide.”

After thinking about this, Arabel lowered her head and was silent for about a minute before continuing. ”Victoria was a very cheerful girl, and to be honest, I didnʼt mind my brother being with her, and even wished for it,” she confessed.

”However, my brother was quite indifferent to Victoriaʼs attentions, which, of course, Samantha didnʼt like.”

”Victoria was the bridge, the link between us and Samantha, and when she died, our ties ended.”

”The last thing Samantha said to me and my brother back then was that we were to blame for Victoriaʼs death.”

”She accused not only Arslan and me of being indifferent to Victoriaʼs suffering and the lack of support that could have prevented what she did, but also our entire Morgan family.”

The room was silent again, but this time it was filled with anxiety.

”And this girl turned out to be the zero Host of the Dark System,” Arabel said, ”The Host I let into our house myself.”

With concern in her eyes, she looked up and looked at Idan.:

”Iʼm not comfortable, Dan.”

”I know that she should be pitied, and even the System has assured that she is not a threat, but... but I have a very bad feeling about her.”
