Chapter 416: The meeting of the two III

”What did she just say? A child? Pregnant? No, no, no,” Lina’s father, the Hero of the Sword, thought feverishly, denying what he had heard.

”Is that not true? Is she lying?” he asked himself. But then, looking at his daughter, at her nervous fidgeting waiting for his reaction, the Sword Hero realized that she was not lying.

He closed his eyes and for a moment was lost in memories of his past.

Where he himself met a woman and fell in love with her.

The way he traveled with her, unaware that she was Valkyrie’s rebellious avatar. Those days were the most vivid and memorable in his memories.

And some time after the birth of his daughter, the truth came out, and he found out who she really was. But even after learning the truth, he did not stop loving her.

He didn’t want to let her and his daughter go, but at that time, he was powerless against the rules of the higher race.

His wife’s real body came and took her and his daughter. He himself was left alive only because he had already been chosen by the Holy Sword and had become the Sword Hero.

And later he found out that she, the woman he loved, was no more. And whoever killed her took his daughter under her wing.

As a Sword Hero, he couldn’t accept it, and as a result, a lot of things happened, a lot of blood was shed. In the end, he came to agreements with his wife’s real body and with the Valkyrie race.

Remembering the past, the Sword Hero couldn’t help but notice that his daughter’s act surprisingly reminded him of events from his past.

However, there was one important difference. This time, his daughter had him—the one who could stand up for her and protect her even from the encroachments of representatives of the higher race. He was no longer as helpless as he had been then, but had become someone who was better off not angering.

”Lina,” he said, addressing his daughter. ”What did you do when she asked for help? Did you help her?”

Lina, who had been sitting quietly up to this point, started when she heard her father’s question. She caught a subtle change in his voice, but she couldn’t immediately tell if it was a good sign or not.

”Father, I... I was shocked to find out the truth. However, when I realized that the avatar was in danger, I did everything I could to help.” Gathering her thoughts, Lina continued her story. ”I put all my strength into our bond that I was capable of at that moment.”

The Sword Hero did not rush his daughter, but listened to her in silence. He already knew from the woman’s words that her daughter’s avatar had died. But he didn’t know what exactly had happened or how it had ended.

”Subsequently, our bond was broken again, and then I didn’t know how it would end,” Lina admitted. ”I tried to leave the Celestial Continent, but I was quickly caught by that woman and taken into custody. And after a while it became known about the existence of my avatar.”

”Lina, you said you didn’t know how it would end back then. Does that mean you... ” Lina’s father paused for a moment before finishing his question, ”...know how it ended?”

Lina nodded, confirming her father’s guess.

”I know,” she said.

”While I was in prison, the part of my soul that I put into my avatar when I created it returned to me after her death,” Lina said sadly, and then decided not to stop and finish her story before her father could ask a question.

”When the fragment of the avatar’s soul returned, I, unlike that woman who completely abandoned the soul of my ”mother”, completely accepted it. Her existence and memories.”

When Lina said the last words, her father, the Hero of the Sword, instantly realized their meaning. He couldn’t wait any longer and asked the question that worried him the most.:

”So how did it end? Are my future son-in-law and granddaughter still alive?”

”Eh? What are you talking about, Father?” Lina, as if she had been stung by a snake, almost jumped on the spot.

”Ah, Lina, you just said that you completely accepted your avatar’s memories. Which means that you also shared her feelings. And among them, of course, was the love for that young guy. You can deny it, but your behavior already says that I’m right,” Lina’s father stated calmly, although he was not calm inside.

”Little bastard, how dare he put his filthy paws on my little flower without my approval,” the Sword Hero cursed the youth in his mind.

”But... but...” Lina’s face turned red.

”Although you are innocent and pure now, but after receiving the avatar’s memory, you should already know what it feels like,” her father said with a grin, continuing to make fun of his daughter to lighten the atmosphere a little.

”Don’t be silly, Father!” exclaimed Lina, covering her face, which was flushed with embarrassment. Her father’s words made her remember the memories of her avatar, where she was with the young man, and how wildly they behaved at first.

”Oh, my God! What did he do to her? She must be thinking about the dirty things her avatar did with that guy.” Lina’s father was not a stupid man, and when he saw her daughter blush, he immediately understood what she was thinking. ”Wait a minute, you little rascal! If you survived, then you’ll have to go through me first before you mess up her main body!”

”Okay, okay, I won’t do it anymore,” Lina’s father said with a slight smile.

Lina, recovering from the rush of memories, looked at her father with slight resentment.

”I do not know how to accurately convey everything in words, Father. All this happened more than two years ago, and Avatar’s memories of her last moments are too blurred.” Lina herself wanted to understand exactly what happened at the end. Everything was a blur in his avatar’s memories. ”But all I can catch is that my avatar was trying to save her daughter until the last moment.”

Then Lina raised her eyes and looked at her father. She stared at him for a long time, as if deciding whether to share with him what she had learned from her avatar’s memories or not.

”Lina,” her father said. ”I see that you want to say something, but for some reason you don’t dare. Tell me, what’s bothering you so much?”

”No, no, no, no. I can’t tell him about this,” she repeated mentally, looking at her father’s face.

And just at that time, a small noise was heard from one of the rooms of the building. The door swung open, and a Sacred Sword appeared on the threshold, with a towel hanging from the hilt.

Lina’s father turned his head and looked at the sword with a smile.

”So you finally learned how to wipe yourself?” he asked with obvious pleasure, to which the sword only buzzed in response.

Turning back, he noticed his daughter’s puzzled look and decided to explain the situation.

”Don’t pay any attention. He just likes to take a warm bath from time to time,” said the Sword Hero.

”What the hell?” — Lina exclaimed, looking at the sword in surprise. ”A sword taking a bath?”

Noticing her gaze, the Sacred Sword buzzed as if asking: ”What?”

The corners of Lina’s lips lifted slightly when she saw the legendary sword’s reaction.
