CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1045: Chapter 1053: Asking for Leave

By the time the second episode aired, Jane Sampson and Mair Williams had really caught fire on the internet.

It wasn’t because of anything else but the scene where they got caught talking behind the ”black-face instructor’s” back and had to stand out; it had everyone on the internet bending over with laughter.

As a result, Liam Woody’s nickname as the ”black-face instructor” became thoroughly established.

When Jane found time amidst her busy schedule to check Twitter for netizens’ comments, seeing everyone taking screenshots to make emoticons, her heart resisted, actually.

Netizen: Little Jane, promise me, you must love each other like family with Mair Williams forever, and not flirt with others, you two are a match made in heaven.

Netizen: I feel sorry for this instructor ”little brother,” is it just because he’s a bit dark? No problem, turn off the light, play hide and seek, and you’re sure to win.

Netizen: Hahaha, the screenshot showing little Jane and Mair Williams exchanging glances has such an adorable expression.

Netizen: Little Jane, promise me, after this episode, don’t court death anymore, okay?

Netizen: Little Jane and Mair Williams might be long-lost sisters, hahaha, laughed me to death.

Watching numerous netizens, including her own fans, mercilessly mocking her, Jane Sampson angrily tweeted a response on Twitter.

Hmph! If you keep mocking me like this, I’ll uninstall Twitter!

—Jane Sampson.

When James Black came across Jane Sampson’s tweet, the image of Jane pouting indignantly immediately flashed through his mind; after all, the netizens were right, it was all her and Mair Williams’ own doing.

But looking at Liam Woody, ever since the episode with him being an instructor aired, he’s been avoiding James as much as he could; if not avoidable, then at least minimizing his presence as much as possible.

Not for any other reason, Liam Woody feared his commander would settle scores after the fall.

During the hectic work schedule, it seemed like a day didn’t even have 24 hours; taking a breath or drinking water seemed to take half a day, and when added up, a day’s time seemed to only be enough for three sips of water.

In order not to delay the film crew’s schedule due to her personal affairs, Jane ended up being so busy in the following days that she hardly had time to touch her mobile phone.

Charging the mobile once could last for several days without needing to charge again, leaving home every morning before dawn, sometimes even returning to her room at two to three o’clock in the early morning.

Sleeping for just over three hours before getting up to continue filming.

This kind of busyness meant Jane hadn’t contacted James for several days.

She hadn’t made any phone calls, and didn’t even log into WhatsApp.

Every day she was so tired that when she reached her room, after removing her makeup and taking her shower she didn’t even think of saying an extra word, and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

This busyness, for 12 days, went by as if it were merely a fleeting moment.

The day before James Black’s birthday, after filming during the daytime and arriving at more than four in the afternoon, Jane sought out director James Chip to ask for leave.

”Director, I’m taking the evening off and all day tomorrow, I’ll be back to the film crew at noon the day after tomorrow,” Jane said with a playful smile, ”You haven’t forgotten, have you? I mentioned it to you several days ago.”

James Chip took a sip of water and nodded, ”Remembered, remembered, so you’ve been filming like there’s no tomorrow these past few days, I’m planning to give everyone a half-day off tomorrow morning.”

Even machinery needs a break after working for a while, let alone people.

James Chip also understood the principle that haste makes waste. These past few days, everyone had been working feverishly, so this half-day holiday was also squeezed out by everyone together.

Because Jane had coordinated with James Chip earlier for a day and a half off the night of that day, Chip had also scheduled to film some of Jane’s script ahead of time, freeing up a day and a half for her.
