CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1041: Chapter 1049: I’m Even More Jealous

”Sister Jane, I’m sorry, that day, I really didn’t know why I did it, but when I came to my senses, I realized what I had done,” Mona Calm said, trembling as she looked at her hands. ”I always envied people like Sister Jane, beautiful and born into privilege, pampered like a princess since childhood, and even finding success more easily than others.”

Perhaps it was this envy that, over time, built up inside and twisted into a form of jealousy that could distort one’s heart.

This kind of jealousy could devour a person’s heart, causing unrest at every moment.

To this day, Mona still remembered that when she pushed Jane Sampson out, apart from fear, there was also a sense of satisfaction.

She was scared, but at the same time, she felt incredibly relieved and exhilarated.

”I always thought, why should something I desperately longed for but could not have be just a matter of one sentence for others? Why should something others can easily possess despite my struggle for half a life?”

Just like that advertisement, she tried so many connections and couldn’t even touch the threshold, but Jane Sampson, with just one word, led her straight through.

”I was even more jealous. Why did I spend four or five years working hard, struggling, and still remain no more than an unknown extra, a small-time actor who is only mentioned with a mocking tone, while you, a newcomer, could eclipse Hibiscus Wood in just half a year?”

Mona admitted that, even though she seemed indifferent on the surface during the times she spent with Jane Sampson, deep down, at every moment, her heart was being tormented on the fire of jealousy.

She watched Jane Sampson use lipsticks worth hundreds of thousands each, saw the clothes she wore every day, all from various luxury brands, the shoes on her feet, the bags in her hand, even her mobile phone case worth more than someone’s monthly salary.

This was the kind of life Mona Calm couldn’t even dream of, yet there was someone living it right before her eyes.

Buying a bag from the L brand would require a long, long time of hesitation, comparing prices with different purchasing agents, and then after purchasing, she would place the bag in the neatest, cleanest spot in her home.

If it wasn’t for a special occasion, she would even hesitate to carry it for fear of getting it dirty or damaged.

But what about Jane Sampson?

With an L brand’s top handcrafted bag, she might switch to a new one every time she met Mona, who watched as Jane stuffed all sorts of things into her bag, even food with a scent.

To Mona, it seemed like a silent mockery and a show-off, making her heart hurt.

Every time she saw Jane Sampson, with each new bag, another lipstick, a different outfit, praising that perfume on twitter that Mona may never be able to buy in her lifetime, she felt almost suffocated. So Mona clearly remembered thinking at the moment she pushed Jane Sampson away, why doesn’t she just die?

She was so rich, enjoying a life others couldn’t, she should have died long ago!

But when she saw Jane Sampson and James Chip come safely downhill later, Mona regretted it.
