CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 994: Chapter 1002: I Will Indulge You

Because no one likes a troublemaker, do they?

After Julie Sampson returned, she had always been trying to be independent, to take good care of herself.

When she was hungry, she would endure it, because she didn’t want to be seen as a nuisance.

When she was sick, she would also endure it, for the same reason.

She was trying hard to make herself better, to be liked a bit more, and a bit longer, by those who still cared for her.

She always knew she had nothing else to lose.

Once she truly lost everything, she would have nothing at all.

No one would love her anymore, no one would care about her anymore.

She was afraid that her world would eventually be left with only her in it, alone, so she cautiously made herself into what others liked, trying hard to please the world and to accommodate everyone around her.

James Black listened to her trembling voice, and finally, held her tightly in his arms.

Tightly, forcefully, even wanting to blend her into his body, to let her reside within him, to see how determined he was to protect her.

”You are fine just the way you are,” he whispered, soothing her anxiety.

Tonight, it was good that he came.

If he hadn’t come, would she have assumed that he thought she was a trouble and thus didn’t want to bother with her?

That’s why, before he had arrived, when she was sleepy, she was waiting for him.

That’s why, when she answered his phone call, her delicate voice hid the fear that he wouldn’t come.

”Jane, with me, you can be willful,” James Black said, ”I will indulge you, protect you.”

After speaking, he let her go, then lowered his head and kissed away the tear stains on her face, inch by inch.

He chased away the unease in her heart with his love, showing how much he cared for her.

And tonight was definitely the closest the two hearts had been to each other after so many years of marriage.

Whether physically or spiritually.

Both.

The next morning, James Black only left when Coco Edwards came to wake Jane Sampson. When she woke up, he held her face and kissed her, and only after she was dressed and ready, did he go to open the door for Coco.

”I’m leaving now, take good care of her for me,” James Black instructed Coco, then called out to Jane Sampson, ”I’m returning to the guard team.”

The person sitting at the dressing table responded grandly, then waved her little hand and smiled at him. Only after James Black had left did Jane Sampson rest her head on her hand and lean back, poking the reflection of herself in the mirror, ”How can I meet people with my eyes all swollen like this?”

”I’ll bring you some ice. There’s still time. You should apply it first,” Coco said as she shook the bucket of ice and gauze in her hand. ”Mr. Black sent me a message half an hour ago, asking me to get this from the hotel. I guessed that you must have been crying your eyes out in his arms last night.”

Jane Sampson held her little face and blinked, pretending not to understand who Coco was referring to as the person crying their eyes out.

After applying ice to her eyes, Jane Sampson still put on some base makeup before leaving the house.

They left through the hotel staff passage, while a bunch of reporters were staked out at the hotel entrance, a crowd of people had been waiting all night long.

The car arranged by the film crew for Jane Sampson was an inconspicuous black sedan, parked next to an internal parking lot at the hotel staff passage.
