CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 954: Chapter 962: I Heard It

Mother Sampson sat there for a long time, unable to snap back to reality, because she knew very well that her husband’s words on the phone were not spoken in anger, and if Julie’s future husband did not meet his satisfaction, he would indeed deny Julie a dowry.

What was most important to her was that, in Mother Sampson’s heart, Julie was more filial and sensible than Jane had ever been, and had had a more pitiful childhood. Even in her heart, Julie was better than Jane in every aspect, which is why she felt that Julie should marry into a better situation than her sister had.

Julie should marry someone of higher status than the Black Family, a husband who was younger than James Black, better-looking, and more promising.

But at the same time, Mother Sampson also realized that this condition was very difficult to meet.

In the Capital Province, it was nearly impossible to find a suitable candidate that could surpass the Black Family.

Thus, except for the fact that Kane Forest was significantly older than Julie, Mother Sampson was reluctantly satisfied with him as a son-in-law.

In the evening, just as the sun set behind the mountains, Jane had already removed her makeup and left the makeup room.

She was in great form today, plus she had almost fully grasped her role as the Honored Princess Consort Dawn before coming, so the role was not much of a challenge for her.

Today, she and Hibiscus Wood completed their parts in one take, much to the delight of the director, who had no shortage of praise for both of them.

Jane had finished her script for the day, and over there, they were still filming the scenes of the male and female leads, so Hibiscus Wood still had a long way to go.

”The director came by just now and said that once you’re done cleaning up, you can head back to the hotel to rest, and we can figure out dinner for ourselves,” Coco Edwards handed Jane her mobile phone as she spoke. ”Do you want to go back for a bath first, and then we can slowly discuss where to eat tonight?”

”That’s a great idea,” Jane nodded. ”After wearing a heavy and suffocating costume all day, I’m already drenched in sweat; I feel as if I’ll stink if I don’t take a bath.”

Jane remarked, ”Luckily, I only have to wear this costume for a few days. Otherwise, since it cannot be washed or soaked, it would probably turn foul by the end of the filming.”

”Do you think I didn’t hear you taking pleasure in the misfortune of others?” Coco poked Jane’s waist with a finger. ”I’ve noticed you’re getting worse.”

Coco was not around when Amber Edwards got pissed off by Jane in the afternoon, and she lamented missing the sight of Amber’s face turning green with anger after hearing about it later.

Now, as Jane made fun of clothes potentially getting sour and smelly, it was clear she was mocking Amber.

Amber’s character in this show was originally a lesser favorite poetess, and thus reflected in her clothes, which were not very elaborate. Among them was a palace costume that she was supposed to wear from the beginning to the end of filming.

These costumes were not allowed to be washed before the end of the filming, in order to preserve their shape and appearance.

”Good to know you caught on,” Jane shrugged her shoulders, thinking that Amber would be unhappy again, which made Jane quite happy.

Initially, the incident with the hairpin had been put to rest after Amber apologized, and Jane had retaliated on Twitter, with no plan to pursue the matter further.

Who knew that Amber, who could have been a perfect miss, would choose to join the film crew and cause a scene?

As she walked hand in hand with Coco, Jane said, ”I feel like Amber has been challenging me all morning, and now I’m starting to get a bit vain, thinking she’s doing all this because I’m on the film set.”
