I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1279: Chapter 1278: There’s a Reason Behind It

”We won’t hit you, but you need to sign a long-term supply contract with Uncle at the same price as everyone else. I’ll have Heavenly Blessing keeping an eye on things,” Luo Yirui said.

The two were quite unwilling. Initially, they didn’t mind using the old man since his prices were low, but this time their goods were almost enough, and they had no place to store them. Mainly, they didn’t want the hassle. Seeing the old man was easy to bully, they casually wanted to dismiss him. Besides, he had no other places to deliver to, so he’d have to come to them next time anyway.

Now they had to sign an agreement, and the price was higher than before, which was quite a loss. If they had known these four little rascals would meddle, they might as well have accepted it, no matter the effort.

The two regretted it. Even if they signed the agreement, they would back out anyway, since the old man didn’t know anything. But with Heavenly Blessing involved, they dared not, which was what frustrated them the most.

The deputy squad leader found the purchasing boss and resolved the matter. Time indeed couldn’t be delayed any longer.

Uncle never expected it would turn out this way and kept bowing and thanking Luo Yirui and the four people, along with those soldiers.

”I don’t know how to thank you. If I couldn’t sell these wooden planks this time, my wife wouldn’t have money for treatment. I really thank you!” Uncle kept saying.

Luo Yirui was taken aback, ”What illness?”

It turned out Uncle’s wife had asthma and must take medication. This time it was quite severe, and the prescribed medicine was especially expensive. Selling the wooden planks just barely covered the cost. Taking the medicine could only temporarily suppress it, but if she didn’t, he feared his wife couldn’t hold on. She struggled to breathe at night, couldn’t sleep well, and even her blood pressure would rise.

He refused to leave because he couldn’t gather enough money for the medication. Without it, his wife’s condition couldn’t be suppressed, and now it was just the two of them for company. If she died, he would be all alone.

Luo Yirui originally thought it was just a matter of interest, not expecting such a deeper reason behind it.

Most asthma doesn’t lead to death, but if it triggers other complications, it becomes uncertain. Although Uncle didn’t quite understand, seeing his wife gasping like that, seemingly on the verge of death, terrified him.

Luo Yirui thought for a moment and said, ”Uncle, most of the medicine you’re buying has significant side effects. Here’s what we’ll do: I’ll have Heavenly Blessing get in touch with you later. Heavenly Blessing’s herbal remedies are much more effective than these medicines. You helped us, and this is also a kind of fate for us.”

After speaking, he called out Little Fatty and the others to leave.

Uncle stood there looking at their departing backs, feeling very complicated. He knew what Heavenly Blessing was; although he didn’t understand much, he had heard of Heavenly Blessing’s remedies, given his wife’s longstanding medication use.

When buying medicine, he had heard people say that if his wife drank Heavenly Blessing’s herbal remedies a few times, her asthma would significantly improve, and it might even be cured.

As everyone knows, asthma is very difficult to cure.

So when Uncle heard that Heavenly Blessing might cure his wife’s illness, he sincerely inquired about it. He thought, if he saved hard enough, he might manage to afford it. But upon learning the price of the remedies, he gave up right then.

That was an amount he couldn’t possibly accumulate in a lifetime!

And now, he got it; it seemed like a dream, something he couldn’t snap out of for a long time.

After a long while, Uncle murmured, ”I’ve met a noble benefactor!”

Truth be told, it wasn’t really a help, just a casual gesture. Compared to this gesture, the help from the four kids was much greater!
