I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1254: Chapter 1253: Rainfall

Once again, the three of them set off together on a journey, facing the challenge of survival and finding a place with traces of human presence. Compared to before, even though the life-and-death moments are gone, it’s still not easy.

Walking in the forest, all three kids were very cautious. In these mountains, it’s hard to ensure there aren’t any wild beasts. If they encounter a bear or something, the three of them have already planned how to play dead.

”Which direction are we heading now?” Little Fatty looked bewildered. He couldn’t tell north from south, east from west, and now with all the scenery being trees that seemed to look alike, how could he discern direction?

”Just wander aimlessly,” Luo Yirui said.

Little Fatty was shocked, ”Wandering aimlessly is right? You can spout nonsense with such confidence, that’s exactly like Brother Xiao Rui!”

Indeed, Luo Yirui and the others were wandering aimlessly, heading in one direction. But he knew that even though he felt like they were moving in one direction, it definitely wasn’t straight.

Fu Xuan Ge looked up at the gloomy sky, ”There was the sun earlier to determine direction, but now with no sun visible, we really can only wander aimlessly. However, we’d better find a place to take shelter; it seems it’s about to rain.”

The sky was densely covered with clouds, accompanied by gusts of wind, and occasional muffled rumbling could be heard. The three walked briskly, trying to find a place to avoid the rain. If the place was suitable, they might spend the night there.

But after searching and searching, they didn’t find a place before a torrential downpour started.

An autumn rain brings cold. In this season, when it rains, the temperature will drop afterward. Although the three wore long sleeves, nights in the mountains would be very cold. Without finding a place, they couldn’t last through the night.

Soon after becoming drenched, they found a dry cave, making Little Fatty curse furiously.

”If we’d found it ten minutes earlier, we wouldn’t have gotten soaked!” Little Fatty shivered all over, his lips turning slightly purple.

Luo Yirui and Fu Xuan Ge felt the same way, as they huddled pitifully and ran into the cave. Despite no longer getting wet, it was still very cold.

”We need to find a way to make a fire, it’s too damn cold,” Luo Yirui said, stomping his feet.

Making a fire wasn’t easy; the branches were all wet from the rain, and they didn’t have specialized fire-making tools, making it even harder.

Inside the cave, the three jumped around energetically. Luckily, it was just a shower that soon stopped, but the sky was still covered with clouds, indicating it wasn’t over yet.

”Let’s go, let’s go, while we have time, let’s find some branches, try to find dry ones!” After saying this, Luo Yirui rushed out. If it rained again, the three would definitely fall ill by night.

Getting sick at this time would be very troublesome.

Sometimes, Luo Yirui would listen to Uncle Chen Jinliang’s stories, which often talked about their wilderness training experiences, mainly focusing on overcoming difficulties, but never revealing classified information.

So when Luo Yirui went out, he headed toward the slope, knowing that under steep slopes, there might be some dry leaves, and if lucky, large patches of them.

He reached the slope, finding many dry leaves below, but unfortunately, most were wet. Even so, Luo Yirui went over and started rummaging through them, revealing dry leaves underneath after several attempts. A grin broke out on his face; Uncle Chen Jinliang wasn’t lying to him.
