Chapter 1264: Chapter 1263: Spare Me, Little Ghost Brothers

The Little Fatty was initially quite happy to see the donkey cart, but after Luo Yirui’s reminder, he realized it was the dead of night; there shouldn’t be a donkey cart on the road.

The four stared at the donkey cart, their hairs standing on end, because it really was a donkey cart, and they could even see the donkey occasionally move.

Although they didn’t know the exact time, it was probably around midnight by now; why would there be a donkey cart in this place?

Was it the Nie Family waiting for them, setting a trap?

On second thought, it seemed unlikely.

”Let’s go over and take a look,” Luo Yirui whispered.

Jing Yuansi’s face went pale; she was terrified, but staying here alone was even scarier, so she could only follow the three boys.

The Little Fatty was also scared stiff. Though he was chubby, his courage was small, so Luo Yirui and Fu Xuan Ge walked ahead, silently approaching the mysteriously appearing donkey cart. The closer they got, the clearer the strange sound became.

”Goddamn it... curses to him... heartless things... what am I supposed to do in the middle of the night!”

As they got closer and heard the cursing, all four were startled. The voice sounded like a man.

”There’s no village ahead, no inns behind, if I go back for help, I can’t let this cart of stuff go missing... really damned unlucky! How could a big pit appear on the main road!”

Luo Yirui and the four lay below the dirt road and didn’t see the person speaking, so Fu Xuan Ge tugged at Luo Yirui and whispered, ”It’s a person, not someone from the Nie Family.”

He nodded, roughly understanding what was going on from the man’s words.

”If we could hitch a ride with him, that’d be great,” the Little Fatty wasn’t afraid anymore, knowing it was a person and not someone from the Nie Family.

Jing Yuansi felt the same.

After discussing with Fu Xuan Ge and the others, Luo Yirui and the group reached a decision.

”Uncle, do you need any help?” Luo Yirui stood up, speaking from a distance.

After he asked, the other person suddenly went silent, making Luo Yirui momentarily suspicious. He walked onto the dirt road, still standing afar, and in the moonlight saw someone crouching on the other side of the dirt road.

Seeing just one person, Luo Yirui grew a bit bolder, holding a Paralysis Talisman in his hand, stealthily moving a few steps closer.

The person crouching suddenly moved, quickly pulling something from the cart and pointing it at them, shocking Luo Yirui into thinking the person held a gun, ready to leap aside, when he heard the person speaking shakily.

”Don’t, don’t come closer! I, I have a Peach Wood Sword in my hand, beware or it’ll scatter your soul! Be good, kids, go find your parents. If you’re dead, your parents will surely be sad, don’t haunt your uncle, your uncle has nothing here!”

Luo Yirui: ”...”

The Little Fatty: ”...”

Fu Xuan Ge: ”...”

Jing Yuansi: ”...”

Apparently, the other mistook them for ghosts.

”Uncle, I mean no harm...”

Before Luo Yirui could finish his sentence, the man waved his ’Peach Wood Sword’ and started chanting, ”Spirits of heaven and earth...”

He began to have a headache; how could he convince the man he was human and not a ghost?

Luo Yirui thought he should let him see clearly, so he walked closer, ”Uncle, we just want a ride.”

Seeing the Peach Wood Sword wasn’t intimidating enough, the man fell to his knees with a thud, ”Spare me, ghost brothers, I have elderly above and kids below, please don’t take me away! My cart can’t take passengers, go hitch another ride!”

Luo Yirui face-palmed, the more he explained, the more confusing it became.
