I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1177: Chapter 1176: Beginning the Operation

Luo Yirui refused to accept the two fighting talismans no matter what; those were what they kept on themselves to protect themselves, so of course he couldn’t take them.

Seeing that it was almost time, Little Fatty and Jing Yuansi left. Not long after, Luo Yirui followed them out; he still chose the path they had discovered themselves to enter that passage.

Since this wasn’t his first time here, Luo Yirui didn’t pause at all, going straight down the steps. This time he didn’t even turn on his flashlight.

A faint crackling noise came from his left ear, and soon Hou Baiyu’s voice sounded, ”I’m in position. Where are you two?”

There was a burst of static, and Xuan Ge’s voice came through. At the same time, his voice sounded ahead, ”Three more minutes to be in position.”

”Three more minutes to be in position,” Luo Yirui echoed.

Hearing him, Xuan Ge’s footsteps up ahead clearly faltered for a moment. Luo Yirui quickly caught up to him and walked forward together with him.

But it was pitch black here, not a single bit of light they could use. Even if the two of them were face to face they still wouldn’t be able to see each other, so Luo Yirui didn’t see the look of shock on Xuan Ge’s face.

Although he had walked this road a few times, his guard had never dropped, because he knew that people passed through here sometimes. So he’d been listening for sounds around him the whole time. Yet Luo Yirui had almost pressed up against his back, and he hadn’t sensed a thing!

It was one thing that he walked without making any noise, but even his breathing was extremely shallow. Coming down from up above to this point, anyone’s breathing would be somewhat heavier; Luo Yirui had broken that pattern.

Xuan Ge only felt a faint breeze brush past him, and knew that Luo Yirui had already gone ahead of him. He immediately quickened his pace to catch up.

The two quickly reached the meeting point they had agreed on with Hou Baiyu. It wasn’t far from the cave entrance. This time, they were going to step out of the cave, and move closer to that secret base.

Luo Yirui swept a glance toward the direction of the cave entrance. Although the passage wasn’t straight, a faint light still came from the bend. Grandpa De San, is he here or not?

Using the weak light, Hou Baiyu and Xuan Ge had already taken the lead, heading that way. When they reached the bend, they pressed their backs against the dirt wall, right in the shadows.

”This time we’re only testing the waters, not carrying out a real operation. There are still places we haven’t figured out. If we act rashly, the chances of failure are too high,” Hou Baiyu said.

These words were mainly for Luo Yirui.

Luo Yirui nodded.

”This is the route map we drew before. There are a few blank areas we haven’t successfully explored. We’ll move along the ventilation ducts and complete the map. This is our first mission, so we have to be careful. Under no circumstances can we be discovered,” Hou Baiyu said.

Luo Yirui nodded again, because he noticed that Xuan Ge seemed to know all this already, and acted very used to it. Clearly, they had been here more than once.

”Xuan Ge will explore the eastern area, Yirui will explore this side. Remember, we go in through the ventilation ducts and avoid coming out as much as possible. Once you’re exposed inside, the two people outside will not acknowledge any connection to you!”

Hou Baiyu warned the two of them with extreme seriousness. It was one thing with Xuan Ge, this wasn’t their first time working together, but with Luo Yirui it was hard to say.

Luo Yirui understood this. The Hou Family was never going to take responsibility. Laying that out clearly at the start of the operation was better for both sides!
