I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1174: Chapter 1173: The Truth

”Is it to make them trust each other, or just to make the Hou Family’s son trust my son?” Beisitian replied blandly. Such an unequal agreement, completely devoid of any penalties for Hou Baiyu in case of breach, with all penalties targeting Luo Yirui, is something she could never sign.

Mrs. Hou Yue’s smile faded somewhat, ”Doctor Bei can read carefully; the punishments in this agreement are more reminders. How can one be so involved? The Fu Family signed this agreement as well.”

Beisitian raised her gaze, her eyes indifferent, ”As for the affairs of other families, I won’t get involved, as my energy is limited. Qingyu will not be signing it, after all, it’s the Hou Family coming to us for help, not us seeking assistance, wouldn’t you agree?”

In the eyes of the Hou Family, this agreement is merely a reminder, aimed at establishing some trust among the children. Although the penalties are light, Qingyu accepting these penalties and signing this agreement would imply to the world a misconception—Qingyu intentionally becoming an affiliate of the Hou Family!

Not to mention during this sensitive time; even before, Beisitian would absolutely never sign such ambiguous agreements, as the restraint on children is one aspect, but the biggest constraint is on adults and their factions!

From another perspective, how eager is the person signing this agreement to befriend the Hou Family?

The Hou Family’s sense of superiority is evident through this as well!

Mrs. Hou Yue looked at Beisitian, ”Is Doctor Bei really not considering it? You must know that there are many who wish to sign such agreements with us.”

The implication being, you are not indispensable; once you miss this opportunity, it won’t come again.

Beisitian chuckled softly, ”If that’s the case, then let others sign it. Qingyu won’t be meddling in these murky waters.”

Mrs. Hou Yue frowned slightly, her gaze toward Beisitian gradually turning fierce, yet she realized that, despite being over fifty, relying solely on her cultivated gaze was utterly unable to perturb Beisitian—like a tranquil lake that no one could stir.

This matter should ordinarily end here, just as Beisitian was about to see the guests off, she noticed Mrs. Hou Yue lightly nodding to one behind her, the Hou Family member left briefly, then returned and whispered something in Mrs. Hou’s ear.

Mrs. Hou looked surprised at Luo Yirui, then turned to Beisitian. ”Since Doctor Bei is unwilling to sign, we naturally wouldn’t force it. This evening, our young master is going to take action. May we ask if your son would like to join?”

Mrs. Hou Yue’s attitude can be described as a complete 180-degree turn—previously pushing to sign the unequal agreement, and now inquiring about actions.

Beisitian smiled faintly, as if, like Mrs. Hou Yue, the previous matter never existed at all, ”If we know what to do, naturally, it would be especially so.”

Her meaning is that their cooperation in action comes with the prerequisite of knowing the entire plan, and what Hou Baiyu intends to do.

This time Mrs. Hou Yue was not coy and disclosed their intended actions.

It turns out, Hou Baiyu intended to obtain evidence proving the Nie Family is the mastermind behind the rampant creation of corrupt practices over recent years!

Simultaneously, proving that the Nie Family is not only the mastermind behind corrupt practices but also behind the manufacture of anti-human biochemical weapons!

Once they obtain the evidence, they can hand it over to the country, and the state will certainly impose sanctions on them!

In a society ruled by law—even ancient families have no right to impose mutual sanctions. Only the state has this authority. Since they live on this land, they must adhere to these laws.

It is also the best way they have to deal with the Nie Family.
