I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 995: Chapter 994: Was It a Bet or a Beating?

The two people’s conversation was remarkably similar, both calling the other a scoundrel. Beisitian found it amusing but also felt a bit more at ease.

At night, Hao Rong quietly sneaked into the room of Luo Yirui and the other two, who seemed to be learning something. He watched them with a cheeky grin.

”Brother Rui, Brother Le, have you been eating well these days? Sleeping well?” Hao Rong asked with an expression like a weasel wishing a chicken a Happy New Year, clearly up to no good.

Luo Yirui looked at him coolly, ”Not too bad.”

Hao Rong rubbed his hands together, ”Brothers, I want to discuss something with you, hehe~”

”Not interested!”

”It’s just that... hey, I haven’t even said it yet!” Hao Rong said with a constipated expression, ”It’s important, at least hear me out first!”

Jing Changle fidgeted with his little beads, looking at him without saying a word.

Luo Yirui smiled slyly, ”Alright, but even after hearing it, my answer is still no.”

He couldn’t help but tease Hao Rong a little.

Hao Rong rolled his eyes, ”Hmph, maybe after I tell you, you’ll beg me to tell you more!”

Luo Yirui laughed, ”Tell me, then. If it’s that interesting, maybe I’ll actually help you.”

Hao Rong’s eyes lit up, and he laughed, ”Here’s the thing. You probably know I don’t get along with that Zhuo Hao kid, right? Since I came back recently, I’ve been telling them about my legendary adventures! Of course, I tweaked Little Rui’s story a bit, turning him into a Martial Arts Master! Didn’t mention anything else!”

He even tweaked it a bit... Luo Yirui chuckled while staring at him.

Hao Rong felt a bit unnerved under his gaze, feeling a little guilty.

”I really didn’t mention that part! Swear to heaven, it’s true!” Hao Rong vowed, but the toxic nature of the swear didn’t seem to convince him either.

”Go on.”

”And then, you know what? Zhuo Hao actually didn’t buy it. Can you believe he thinks you deserve a beating? And he even found a master to say they want to beat you up! I was so mad, I had to come back and tell you immediately!”

”And drag me into being mad with you?” Luo Yirui remained unfazed.

”That’s not the point! He doesn’t respect you, brother! Shouldn’t you teach them a lesson?” Hao Rong was incredulous, remembering the first time they met at the gala, where Little Rui’s unique brain approach nearly suffocated him!

This Little Rui, he’s impressive everywhere, developing all around!

Luo Yirui leaned back lazily, ”Tell me, is it that you got beaten up or made a bet?”

Hao Rong: ”...”

After pondering for a few seconds, he calmly admitted, ”Both...”

Luo Yirui gave him a chuckle, ”Figure it out yourself.”

His little buddies and classmates used to do things like this, always thinking he would clean up their mess. Initially, he found it amusing, but later it just became boring. Helping out had to be on his terms.

Hao Rong immediately put on a mournful face, ”Brother, please help me. Otherwise, I’ll have to give out a semester’s worth of snacks! I don’t even want to give Zhuo Hao a single jellybean! How about this, if you help me out, I’ll cover your snacks for the next semester!”

Although Hao Rong was twice Luo Yirui’s size, he didn’t feel shy about calling him brother, and the more he called, the louder he got, willingly so due to his impressive skills.

Luo Yirui let out a cold laugh, thinking such conditions were too small for him to take action!

He held up one finger, ”One year’s worth!”

Hao Rong looked as if constipated but gritted his teeth and nodded, ”Deal!”

Even though Hao Rong felt a pinch, he was quite happy. This way, he could spend a year building a good rapport with Luo Yirui. Relationships are built over time, and he’s confident they could become friends eventually.

According to his dad, this was a long-term investment!

And did Luo Yirui really not know? Of course, he knew. There were plenty of people willing to buy him snacks. Just that from this incident, he learned a lesson from his father, a person’s strength is ultimately limited!

You always need some connections of your own, and even though Hao Rong might be a bit unreliable, he understands the situation and has a good eye. Luo Yirui saw it as an investment too.

He just felt like he should do something first, since Hao Rong came looking for him, he might as well take it as practice. Whether he would indeed become good friends with Hao Rong, it was too early to say, as everyone changes as they grow up.

The two reached an agreement, and Hao Rong said mysteriously, ”I’ll tell you what, that kid has some issues. I think he might be like you!”

After saying this, he scratched his head, realizing that as he was trying to use this to attract Luo Yirui’s attention, he ended up being led along, ultimately losing a year’s worth of snacks!

Such a loss!

So sneaky!

He thought for sure Luo Yirui did it on purpose!

Hao Rong had a small moment of frustration. Oh well, it’s just a year of snacks, he could tighten his belt, and recoup it from his ’good classmates’!

Like me?!

Luo Yirui’s eyes briefly flickered, ”In what way the same?”

Hao Rong scratched his head, ”Well, how to say... when that guy just lightly grabbed my little brother’s shoulder, my brother’s shoulder ended up red. We later went to the hospital, and they said it was burnt, even though the guy had nothing in his hand.”

Upon hearing this, Luo Yirui was almost certain that the person Hao Rong was talking about used a fighting talisman!

It seemed like it might actually be worth checking out.

Luo Yirui was full of questions. What’s going on in Jiang City? Suddenly so many masters are emerging!

Not to mention Gu Haiqing, Chu Fenglei’s mom said he was someone infinitely close to a Great Power!

Weren’t Great Powers supposed to be uncommon, with the average age over seventy? What’s up with this young Quasi Great Power?

He definitely wanted to go, but before that, he had to tell his mom and see if she had any information.

Dad said that understanding yourself and the enemy brings a hundred victories in battle.

”Tell me everything you know about that person.” Luo Yirui said.

Seeing Luo Yirui’s interest, Hao Rong perked up immediately. He had seen Luo Yirui in action before, taking down two adults in a flash, it was downright cool!

”That kid seems a bit younger than me, probably around nine to eleven years old. He’s so arrogant, I swear his nostrils almost point to the sky, not worried about rain getting in... Okay, seriously, seriously.” Hao Rong got worked up talking about the kid, but seeing Luo Yirui’s cool gaze, he quickly got back to the main point.

”That kid doesn’t talk much, anyway when Zhuo Hao brought him over, he only said one thing from start to finish.”

”What did he say?” Jing Changle curiously asked.

”Give me your name, young lord doesn’t kill no-names... Oh, you should’ve seen his demeanor back then, it’s like he was ready to take off to the heavens!”
