Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1389: Chapter 824: See Clearly (4)

Luo Ye nodded cooperatively: ”Yeah, being good at managing people is more important than just doing things yourself, that’s the point you’re trying to make, right?”

”Yes, yes, that’s exactly what I mean.”

Luo Ye: ”...”

At five in the afternoon, the list of selected personnel was finalized, with a total of three people: Qi Yan, Lin Meili, and Jia Aiqin.

Zhu Hongyu glanced at Qin Jianqi with some surprise.

According to the internal information she had, Qin Jianqi was very capable, and if she didn’t join the selection, she was one of the predetermined candidates.

However, it was clear in today’s selection that she didn’t give it her all.

Everyone knows that being a member of a Special Team offers much more prospects than being a Commander, especially as a member of the first generation of the Female Special Forces Team, most are expected to become leaders.

The Female Special Forces Team is currently at a division level, and it will surely expand in the future, so joining the Female Special Forces Team promises unlimited prospects.

Qin Jianqi, as a Commander, couldn’t possibly be unaware of this, especially since her family is a military family, although not as influential as the Xue Family, her elders are also highly respected.

Why did she deliberately give up?

The selection was nationwide, so Luo Ye and Zhu Hongyu couldn’t stay here much longer. After instructing the selected members to report in Sha City in a month, they returned to their quarters to pack, preparing to leave the next day.

”Sister Zhu, thank you.”

While packing, Luo Ye looked at Zhu Hongyu with some embarrassment, ”If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have had to work so hard.”

”Stop with the overly polite talk!” Zhu Hongyu glared at her, ”Actually, this way of picking is better because the official data sometimes doesn’t match reality.”

Luo Ye thought for a moment: ”You’re talking about Qin Jianqi?”

”Yes, the official list originally included Qin Jianqi and Qi Yan, but the current result is vastly different from what was expected.

So, now I think, it’s fortunate we changed our minds and came in person, or else the process might have been efficient but lacking in quality.”

”How should I put it, the official list was based on the members’ usual comprehensive performance, while we assessed their on-site performance.

Of course, on-site performance also depends on individual ability. If they don’t possess that ability, no matter how much you push them to perform, they won’t exceed their own level by too much.”

”Forget it, let’s not dwell on it.” Zhu Hongyu shook her head, ”Since we’ve found the right approach, there’s no need to be troubled by the original list.”

After hesitating a bit, Luo Ye asked, ”Sister Zhu, are you really planning to leave just like this?”

”How else do you think I should leave?” Zhu Hongyu lightly kicked her, ”What exactly is going on in that little head of yours?”

”An outsider sees things clearly, you should understand.” Luo Ye’s expression turned serious, ”Didn’t you just wonder why Qin Jianqi didn’t give it her all?

Well, let me tell you, she stayed because she likes Brother Xue, and if you don’t face your own feelings soon, you might really regret it one day.”

”She likes Xue Fengqi?” Zhu Hongyu laughed so hard she rocked back and forth, ”Lady Luo, are you kidding me?”

”Is it funny?” Luo Ye gave her a sidelong glance, ”Idiot! Do what you want, I’m not meddling anymore, think carefully on your own, I’m going out for a walk.”

”Wait for me!”

Luo Ye pushed her back: ”What are you waiting for? You stay at home and reflect on your actions, don’t come out until you’ve figured it out.”

”I say, why are you so domineering? Am I the captain, or are you the captain? How can you restrict my freedom?”

”You have no freedom now!” As Luo Ye’s words fell, she had already disappeared.

”Brat, bullying me.” Subsequently, she nervously twisted the hem of her clothes, pacing back and forth, not knowing what to do.

She admitted with Luo Ye that she had liked Xue Fengqi, but she had also decided to give up because he didn’t love her, and she wouldn’t marry a man who didn’t love her.

But now, she was also a bit confused by Luo Ye’s words.

Think about her understanding with Xue Fengqi!

No! She couldn’t be a shrinking turtle, Luo Ye’s analysis was right, she had always treated Yue Santie as Xue Fengqi’s shadow, although she always denied it, the truth seemed to be just that.

If Yue Santie accepted her and she married him, then in this lifetime, the person she would let down the most would be Yue Santie!

Fortunately, she realized it wasn’t too late!

Now that she’s realized it, she can’t let it go on, that’s never been her character, a soldier must have the courage to face themselves!

Meanwhile, while strolling, Luo Ye bumped into Qin Jianqi, ”Hello, Major Luo!” Qin Jianqi greeted her first.

”Hello.” Luo Ye smiled at her, ”Where are you going, Commander Qin?”

”The sisters from the unit wanted to invite Major Luo and Major Zhu for a gathering, so they sent me to invite you both, and I happened to run into you, Major Luo.”

Luo Ye readily agreed: ”Alright, let’s do it later, we’ll join you after dinner, at eight o’clock, okay?”

Qin Jianqi quickly said, ”Can’t we have dinner together?”

”I can dine with you, but it’s inconvenient for Major Zhu. She and Commander Xue are childhood friends, having come all this way, they naturally want to have a good meal together.” Luo Ye said seemingly unintentionally.

”Child...hood friends?” Qin Jianqi was taken aback, ”Could it be that Major Zhu is Commander Xue’s betrothed?”

”Yes...” Luo Ye paused, ”Commander Qin, giving up your future for anyone is unwise.”

”Huh?” Qin Jianqi stared blankly at her, seemingly not grasping the meaning.

Luo Ye waved her hand and continued to stroll, she had given her good-natured reminder, whether Qin Jianqi could figure it out was up to her.

”Wait a moment!”

After a long while, Qin Jianqi caught up, panting for breath.

Luo Ye turned back, looking at her quietly: ”What is it?”

Biting her lower lip, Qin Jianqi looked at Luo Ye expectantly: ”Could you, could you give me another chance?”

”Reason.”

”I...” Qin Jianqi closed her eyes, ”I’ve figured it out, rather than being self-deprecating and staying by his side, it’s better to work hard and carve out my own path.

His heart has never been with me, even if I stay by his side my whole life, he won’t see my efforts.

Unfortunately, I used this logic to advise others, but when it came to myself, I was confused. If not for your reminder, I might have continued to make mistakes without realizing it. Thank you, Major Luo!”
