Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 921: Chapter 553: Familiar Faces/Unexpected Investment (Part 2)

Luo Ye smiled politely: ”Grandpa Hua, you are being too courteous. We are all one family, I wouldn’t hold anything against anyone, and truthfully, that day, it was indeed my fault first, so it’s normal for Sister Hua to be upset.

And besides, my little uncle and Dr. Hua are about to get married, so there’s no need for such formality, just call me Luo Ye. Hey, our generational titles are kind of mixed up, really, they are a bit mixed up.”

Everyone laughed at that. According to Wen Tong’s generation, Luo Ye indeed should call Hua Rong’s parents grandpa and grandma. However, given Hua Yuan’s age, she couldn’t possibly call them auntie and uncle. So, the titles are a bit all over the place.

Hua Hangyu waved his hand: ”Everyone call whatever they’re comfortable with, it’s just a name.” He then looked towards Mr. Wen, ”In-law, we are absolutely satisfied with Wen Tong as a son-in-law.

Xiao Rong has delayed until now, meeting such a good match, as parents we couldn’t be happier. But to tell you the truth, our old master is very particular about rules.

I honestly worry that when both families officially meet, he might offend the in-laws, so I thought of coming by for an informal visit first.

If the in-laws are somewhat satisfied with Xiao Rong, even if our old master has something amiss, I hope the in-laws will bear with it.”

Mr. Wen hastily said: ”In-law, you are being too polite. As long as the two young ones get along and live happily, even if her grandpa scolds us, it doesn’t matter.”

”Then we can be at ease.” Zhao Xueqian let out a sigh of relief, seeing Hua Rong come back looking dejected, she frowned, ”Did Little Yuan leave?”

”Yes.” Hua Rong nodded, apologetically looking at Mr. Wen and Mrs. Wen, ”Uncle, Aunt, I’m really sorry, please don’t be mad at her, she’s just a kid, but she means no harm.”

Old Mrs. Wen looked displeased at Hua Rong: ”Xiao Rong, you’re not visiting our house for the first time, you know our tempers well enough, saying things like that, aren’t you being too polite?”

Hua Hangyu glared at his daughter: ”Xiao Rong, at this point are you still calling them Uncle and Aunt?”

”Dad...” Hua Rong blushed and murmured, not knowing what to say.

Old Mrs. Wen quickly said: ”It’s alright, the child can call us whatever she likes, we are very satisfied with her, in-laws, rest assured.”

Hua Rong bit her lip and bowed to Mr. Wen and Mrs. Wen: ”Dad, Mom, from now on, I won’t be so formal.”

”Oh.” The elderly couple responded together, Mrs. Wen removed her dragon-phoenix jade bracelet from her wrist and gestured to Hua Rong, ”Xiao Rong, come here.”

Hua Rong waved her hands repeatedly: ”Mom, I can’t accept this.”

Mrs. Wen gave her a glare: ”Didn’t you say you wouldn’t be so formal? Just now you’re being polite again? This is a meeting gift from the Wen Family to the daughter-in-law, take it.”

Hua Rong glanced at Hua Hangyu and Zhao Xueqian, unsure of what to do.

The couple exchanged a look, Zhao Xueqian smiled at her daughter: ”Xiao Rong, it’s from your mother-in-law, just take it, and after you get married, be good to your mother-in-law.”

”Thank you, Mom.” Hua Rong accepted the bracelet, blushing.

”You young ones go out and have fun, no need to keep us company.” Mr. Wen said, looking at Wen Tong, ”Xiao Tong, take everyone out for a walk, Ye’er, Xiao Xuan, Little Pumpkin can all accompany.”

Once they went out, Li Xue Man couldn’t help but keep glancing at Ye Xuan, Little Pumpkin leaned over to Luo Ye’s ear with a mischievous grin: ”Sister Ye’er, I really sympathize with you. Going out with brother-in-law, don’t you always feel a bit jealous inside?”

Luo Ye gave him a glare: ”I think it’s you who’s always feeling jealous, isn’t it?”

”Why would I be jealous?” Wen Nan looked puzzled.

Luo Ye gave a wicked smile: ”Because Little Mi isn’t around, you must be jealous.”

”Sis, you’re too smart. When will you bring Little Mi over to play with me then?” Wen Nan clung to Luo Ye’s arm pleadingly, ”Sis, help me out, please?”

Luo Ye pursed her lips: ”Forget it, if I really help you, it’ll be when Little Mi is truly sensible, I might not want to do something so unscrupulous.”

”How is it unscrupulous, sis, am I really that unreliable in your eyes?” Little Pumpkin pouted.

”It’s not you who’s unreliable, it’s your age. You’re 16, Little Mi is 9, do you think that’s appropriate? Little Pumpkin, focus your thoughts on studying. If you and Little Mi are destined, you’ll definitely be together in the future. If there’s no fate, you’ll end up holding her back, and you wouldn’t be able to bear that, right?”

Wen Nan made a wry face: ”Sis, how could I ever hold her back? Besides, even if something happens, I’ll be there to help her.”
